I’ve been going to Lidiya at Salon Solace since last winter. Lidiya does an EXCELLENT job! She has colored, trimmed, and washed and blow dried my natural hair. People often compliment my hair thinking it’s a perm, but I’ve been natural for years. Also, the shampoos are just awesome! Solace/​Lidiya understand the importance of clean/​beautiful hair. After a visit my hair also lasts a long time. Today it’s raining like crazy, but I have no fear. The curls will hold thanks to Lidiya!

I have been coming to Lidiya for years. Lidyia is excellent and she uses good products. My hair is stronger, longer and always has body. What’s more, I don’t wait which is important to me. If my appointment is at 5:30pm I’m sitting in a chair at 5:31pm. Love Salon Solace!

Visited Salon Solace (stylist Hema) for loc maintenance today. Was looking for apa DC salon that was actually in DC, instead of somewhere in Maryland. Was pleasantly surprised by her thoroughness with the shampoo, conditioning, and twisting process. I’ve rather long hair and many stylists balk when I show up at a salon for the first time, but Hema worked fast and had me out of the salon within 2 hours and 15 minutes of my arrival. I also respected that she had three options of twisting agent for me to consider (I chose her Shea butter product), because many DC salons that call themselves welcoming natural clients are only offering a Pre-​Con gel like product or the «Jamaican» mango-​lime, neither of which feed the client’s hair. While I normally do my own hair, if I’m in a jam or need a special style, I think I’d go back to Hema.

I had a great experience with Lidiya! I have naturally curly hair and have been extremely hesitant to go to stylist to flatiron it, because they usually chop off a majority of my length even if I tell them not to do so! Lidiya surprised me. She gave me the most amazing and soothing wash I’ve ever had — massaged my scalp, then conditioned me and had me steam for about 30 minutes. This may sound cheesy, but I felt my pores opening up. She then washed the conditioner out of my hair, then blow dried my hair straight. Then used a flat iron to give me a bit of volume and life! She also gave me a secret to long and healthy hair which I will definitely be trying soon! Thanks Lidiya for restoring my faith in stylists :)

3 years since I stopped worrying about my hair ! Lidya has made miracles, curled or straighted, my hair looks absolutely gorgeous and healthy ! I particularly recommend my black sisters out there that like to experiment different styles with their natural hair to come check this place. To top it up, Lidya’s warm approach and her ability to listen and address ur needs will amaze you!

I LOVE this salon and hairstylist Lidiya has helped my hair grown tremendously in two years! The deep conditions, amazing roller sets and trims have all contributed to the health of my hair!
The environment is also refreshing and an added characteristic to why I enjoy coming in every two weeks. Each stylist and shampoo professionals are an added value as well! I’ve recommended this salon to a few friends, although I’d love to keep this gem to myself! :).
Pricing allows me to come every two weeks and it’s great for the DC area. Other salons I’ve cut off due to overpricing but not my salon! I take tons of pictures when I leave and can go straight to a dinner date with my fiancé so I am always pleased and I receive tons of compliments as well.
I’m a huge reviewer, good and bad but this is an exceptional salon and I had to let other women know too!
Another bonus is that I can ask for a cool french braid, bone straight, huge Texas curls, cascading curls, hair anything, Lidiya can pull off!

I am a regular to Salon Solace located on 9^th Street NW; with Hana as my stylist. I have dreadlocks & Hana does an awesome job of loc maintenance for me – I receive a good shampoo/​conditioning, loc maintenance & styling of my locs (up do or long). Hana is great & so is the other salon staff — always friendly & diligently taking care of their clients. I highly recommend Salon Solace & will continue to return again & again!!!
They work with all hair types — natural, relaxed, extensions & barber services too — whatever your hair need they can handle.

Let me tell you all, Lidiya is THE BOMB​.COM! I am in LOVE with how my hair turned out, thanks to her! She took 2 years worth of natural kinky hair and turned it into soft, shiny, bouncy curls. It looks so good you would think I have a relaxer! Not only that, she took great care wit shampooing and steam-​conditioning my hair. I feel like my scalp really got the royal treatment today.
I had not laid a flat iron on my hair since going natural in 2012, but I took a risk today after seeing the result of Lidiya’s work on another woman’s hair in the salon. And I am SO glad I did — I am already making plans to come back regularly for press-​outs.
I cannot recommend Lidiya highly enough. I am so glad i’ve found her here in dc!

Ahhhh Lidiya is the absolute best! I would never go anywhere else but Salon Solace! One of my good friends introduced me to Lidiya & since then she has been my stylist for over two years now! My hair has grown & became healthier. I receive compliments every time I leave the salon up until I schedule another appointment.
Every two weeks I receive the best deep conditioner treatment & shampoo! Oh & the shampoos are life altering! It’s no rush shampoo like typical salons I’ve been to in the past. For my styles, I usually get roller sets, however, Lidiya can produce any style I request. I like to switch up so I’ll ask for French braids, stylish up-do’s, straight style, pin-​up curls, anything! It makes me feel great that my hair is treated with patience & care. I also have natural hair & I can get any style & rock it!
