Fantastic experience. I walked in just to buy one thing and the two sales ladies were fantastic. Very knowledgeable, very helpful, and not at all pushy in their sales. They were event quite helpful on questions I had that had nothing to do with what I was buying. Too bad I don’t live here, I’d come back all the time.

Saucony is always an issue for me, especially in Mexico. Like crawling for the last source of fresh water, I always try to find the source of Saucony. Based on some amazing reviews of Potomac River Running, and nostalgic about Rehoboth Running Store in DE, I chose here. GREAT choice. As soon as I walked in, Haley Smith instantly helped me and patiently,(customers can be sticklers) find the EXACT, RIGHTFIT. I wanted to go running right there just from her positivity and her patience, her willing to help and just — she belonged there and I was lucky to be there when she was. EVERY single person — their mission was to take their running experience and lay it on ya to help. LOVE this place. My feet are singing still ;)

I’m really happy to update this place and say it’s only gotten better. The shelves are well-stocked(I was right before, they just hadn’t full«hit their stride»(sorry) yet. But they have a great setup in the store, and lead group runs during the week(check their twitter/web for updated run dates). It’s really helpful to have a running store in downtown DC, and I’ll also put in a plug for how well PRR run their races — do yourself a favor and buy a race pass and save money on road racing!

Small but friendly and helpful shop in an excellent location. Not the largest selection, but quality running shoes and clothing.

I love Potomac River Running. Having worn through my who-knows-how-old Brooks, I came here last fall to see if they could help me find something great to run my first race in. I couldn’t be happier with the choice. The shop was quite busy with 4 or 5 people trying running shoes and many more looking through other stuff. Brian was extremely helpful. He ran around trying very hard to satisfy everyone’s need. He didn’t even mind that in the midst of all this craziness I asked to do the whole running on the treadmill thing to test pronation. He watched me run in several pairs of shoes, then replayed the video and recommended two pairs that would be good for me. I ended up getting a pair of Saucony shoes as well as many other awesome running products. I’ve been back to Potomac River Running many times since then, including the night before the infamous frigid, rainy Rock-n-Roll half when all rain jackets in town happened to be sold out. They had one for me! A perfect pink one, that came with the words of running wisdom and encouragement from my new PRR friends.

There are certain establishments where you walk in and you can tell the person would rather be watching paint dry than working that job. Then, there are certain places where you can tell the person would rather be doing nothing more than working that job. This place is the latter. The store is clean. The worker was extremely helpful. I can’t run a lick, but I had a $ 10 gift card, so I walked out with a $ 12 pair of socks. These better be some good socks!

I was visiting from out of town and forgot to pack a sports bra, which is pretty essential for running. After shopping another place and just finding Nike medium impact bras(those just won’t do) I found my way into Potomac River Running. After quickly passing the Nike bras at the front of the store I saw my favorite Moving Comfort bras at the back. Hallelujah I can run again! Not only did they have what I was looking for I was greeted by friendly staff and my husband was helped out too.

I stopped in on my lunch break because I have had crazy aching feet and needed some comfy sneakers. I was greeted immediately and a young man assisted me in finding a pair that worked. The shoes are the BEST fitting and most comfortable sneakers I have had in YEARS. The prices are comparable to what you would pay anywhere else.

Went in with the intent to make a purchase. Unfortunately no one could be bothered to make eye contact with me let alone anything else. Saw a Nike top I was interested in. Wandered down to Macy’s where not only did someone help me, I found a much larger selection(same top different colors) at the same price.

Was I greeted? Nope. Was I asked if I needed help? Nope. Did I purchase anything? Sure didn’t, even though I had stuff in my hand that I was carrying around. I mostly didn’t purchase anything bc there was only 1 person there to help 4 customers. 2 who were seemingly both getting fit for shoes. At least I think there was only 1. I couldn’t figure out who worked there or who was a customer(besides the 2 getting fit) I did really like the merchandise they sold and the vibe of the store. Maybe they were having a bad day?
