This review is for the Capitol Hill Nooshi, although I’ve been to the NW one as well and had similar results. I’ve had drunken noodles, sushi, wonton soup, and a couple of curries(the other version is near my office). I came to the Cap Hill site for a celebratory drink upon getting a new job, and although my fancy champagne cocktail was good, the saki was better. The waiter recommended something that was just perfect, and complemented our food well. I don’t think the food is otherworldly, or super authentic for Asian food, but it’s all generally good. I really like the mural on the side of this location, and the general atmosphere. It was perfect for a romantic celebration with my boyfriend, but there were also groups there that seemed to be having fun(without disrupting the whole restaurant) and the deck looks like it would be awesome.

I’ve ordered delivery twice from here recently having recently moved to H street. The first time I had the Phuket noodles and they were pretty darn good. Spicy soup. Just what I wanted. Second time I ordered the Char Siu ramen(spelling?) and it was all good until I hit the bamboo which tasted and smelled like raw sewage. I don’t know what happened or if it was bad but definitely almost made me sick. Dumped the rest and was so turned off not sure I can order from here again. I am just hoping that’s what bamboo tastes/smells like when it goes bad. Upside: delivery was super fast. I’m kinda bummed though I’ve really been hoping for a delicious Asian ramen delivery option at my new spot.

Best happy hour! Such great sushi. Must try! There are numerous restaurants on barracks row but this one is in the top three. If you love sushi, you have to go here!

I live nearby Barracks Row and didn’t realize such a great place existed nearby, and wow is it great! This is my current favorite place to eat on Barrack’s Row. The reason it took me a while to find this restaurant is that it has a strange side entrance. You have to walk sort of down a little alley to get to it. But don’t let that fool you because the restaurant is very large, with two levels and an outdoor patio that is one of the best in the area. After entering you walk up a flight of stairs to the main dining room – which let me just say is decorated in architectural coolness. Every single thing in this restaurant is custom made and it gives it a great feel. My wife and I sat at a booth for lunch and ordered sushi and soups. The menu is both Japanese and Thai, and includes a lot of noodle dishes. For this being a mid-week lunch service on New Year’s eve, we were really impressed with the number of staff. With four sushi chefs working we received our excessive order of food very quickly. We got a mix of rolls, sashimi and nigiri sushi which was spectacular. Brimming with succulent fish and my fave, scallops, it was the high quality of sushi I’ve been longing for in DC but had not previously found. We actually ordered our soups after sushi, each getting coconut-based Tom Kha or Tom(something else – veggie) soups. Again, spectacular flavor depths from a great blend of aromatic spices. It was one of the best Thai soups I’ve had. It was cold outside but we went up to look at the deck upstairs, it was pretty great and I would totally come back here for a nice night out. You really couldn’t find a better spot in good weather! Altogether, we were completely impressed with everything. I would say that for me the only downside was the jasmine tea that we each ordered, and that was only because it wasn’t the best jasmine tea I’ve ever had – just really good. So see what I mean? This place was really great. We will certainly be back. a lot!

Came here for happy hour on a Friday. They have half price bottle of wines as well as other drinks. My friend got a woo woo for 4.50, not bad. The inside is pretty cool. We sat upstairs which was surrounded by glass windows and a light up bar. This place would be cool during the summer when they open up the glass windows and patio but during the winter all the glass just made it freezing up there. The downstairs area though was pretty cozy. We order crab and avocado rolls, supper yummy and fresh. We also ordered chicken satay, it was okay as well as the general tso shrimp dish. The one dish that we got but had to send back was the kfc wings. The wings didn’t actually look like wings at all. It’s very hard to describe but it was like a smaller portion of a real wing but sliced down the middle. The meat was very little due to the strange cut. I’m very picky about my chicken wings but just the look of these freaked me out. The sauce was also not to my liking.

Enjoyed their food and happy hour specials. Service was great. They offer a mixture of Japanese, Chinese and other Asian cuisine.

Nooshi is really great and has so many great dishes to offer. Usually when I see that a restaurant offers a wide variety of Asian fare it means that they have no real speciality. However for Nooshi my colleague and I ordered Chinese and Thai and to our delight both were done with aplomb. The rooftop bar area is also a treat if it isn’t too cold or windy. Dishes have great flavor and spice, they don’t have it on the menu but you can ask for Thai hot on various dishes — a must have for a spice fiend. Cocktails were also very good, but I felt like I could have had a bit bigger of a serving for the price. Overall I would heartily recommend.

First might be hard to find this place. It is located on the second and third floors(semi-rooftop). Good quality sushi, they serve other Asian foods as well. Good soups. For the few times that been there service is fast and people are attentive. I went again and got pad Thai. I had specifically asked for it be Thai spicy but there was no spice at all. It didn’t have that much flavor like pad Thai usually does. Definitely stick to the sushi and soups.

Just lost a delivery customer after 2 years of ordering the same dish: Ordered Drunken Noodles and Basil Chicken. The noodles had no sauce. It looks like the cook made 2 basil chicken dishes and just added dry noodles to one of them. I order this on a regular basis.

We walked in and were escorted upstairs to the rooftop for seating. This sushi bar has beautiful décor(acrylic paint cherry blossoms on dark glossy wood). Our waitress took our sake and sushi order. The customer service from her as well as the door host was extremely welcoming. Our food came out in 10 minutes. The sushi was SO fresh and delicious! As well as the crisp sake. Enjoyed the ambiance, young crowd and late night bite. Definitely coming back again!

I’ve actually never gotten anything I didn’t like from here. And yes I’ve tried more than 2 items on the menu. It’s extremely pan-Asian(covering Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc. cuisines), so for them to be able to do at least SOME dishes at a better than«adequate» level is great. My favorites have been so far– Tom Yum Noodle Soup w/just shrimp(OMG I cannot wait to have this in the winter! It’s soooo large, spicy and filling. WIN!), Basil chicken, General Tso Chicken, General Tso Shrimp(it’s not on the menu but ask they can make it and its sooo good!), and Singapore rice noodles(ask for less egg if you’re like me, they were a little heavy handed). In addition their kimchi dumplings are good and satisfying. I like the vegetable spring rolls but they’re a little greasy for my taste. Overall if you’re craving some spicy noodle soup or other Asian food, give it a try!

Large selection of multiple types of Asian food, ranging from sushi to curry to ramen. Creative drink menu with a full bar. Multi level facility with a slightly different look on each floor. There always seems to be a party going on… Attentive service with consistently good food. Give it a try!

I was on a major deadline for work and a major craving for Tom Yum Noodle soup for lunch. We’re about a mile away but I found that Nooshi delivers, so thought it would be the perfect solution. My co-workers and I placed an order and the food arrived on time, but doesn’t delivery mean YOU bring the food to ME? However, the delivery driver wouldn’t come into the building. He called my office when he arrived and told me I’d have to come out to the front, and he would meet me in the courtyard area. I told him that I had already alerted the security folks in my building, they knew he was coming and would escort him to the elevator to my floor where I’d be waiting. Nope. He wasn’t going to come inside. Not that it was the world’s biggest deal but if I’m paying a delivery charge and you expect a tip, shouldn’t I being paying for services u actually get? The food itself was so-so. My soup was steaming hot, but a co-worker’s curry wasn’t even warm. A third co-worker sad her Oriental Chicken Salad was alright but her sweet corn wontons tasted like something you could buy at the supermarket in the frozen food aisle. But then another co-worker said his drunken noodles were excellent. Shrug. Lots of other places in the area to eat so won’t order delivery again. Though I might go to eat in.

Sake-bombing is one of my favorite group-drinking activities. Nooshi is a place that has no problem whatsoever letting you and your friends come in and have some fun. I’ve been to Nooshi 3 times and had a blast each time. The most recent visit we weren’t there for food, just for some after-dinner drinks from across the street at Ambar. We got there at about 10:25 p.m. on a Thursday evening and the sign outside said they closed at 10:30. We went up the stairs and they were extremely welcoming and let us sit down and have a few drinks. We ended up staying until 11:30 doing sake bombs and the staff could not have been more polite or helpful to all of us even though it was way past their closing time. The staff at both Nooshi’s in DC are beyond accommodating and I’d recommend either one if you’re looking to have a fun night out with your friends!

Sushi is amazing. Calamari is very crispy. Miso soup is fulfilling. It’s full of tofu and seaweed so it’s not just soup. The crispy shrimp tempura was awesome as well as the rainbow roll. We didn’t really like the seared tuna sashimi. The sake was strong but it wasn’t as tasty as what we have had before. The service is great, though.

Last two times I have gone to Nooshi they have been off– my kimchi mandu made incorrectly twice! And my two regular entrees not properly seasoned and the flavor off. It is very disapointing because I used to be able to count on a good meal here, they were consistent. Don’t know what happened in the kitchen but I am staying away for a bit.

From just looking at Nooshi from the outside, you’d never know this little, ruby of raw was really just another gem. While the signage outside might give the impression that this location is smaller than the Dupont Nooshi, don’t be fooled. This location is a bit more chic and upbeat with multiple levels here for you to eat and play.(And my «play» I mean hang out at the bar. You know, the grown folks playground.) I’ve ordered delivery here a few times and the food is consistent with the location in Dupont. But what this location has that the other does not, is a vibrant atmosphere. I’m not sure how crazy the«Crazy Hour» really gets since I have never indulged, but I’m pretty sure it can be as crazy as you’d like for it to be with half off drinks from 4:30−7pm. If you’re jonesin’ for a late lunch however, keep in mind that they’re closed between 2:30 — 4:30pm, Monday –Thursday and between 2 — 5pm for delivery.

This place was okay. I went here with a Living Social(or one of those deals) for lunch since I work around this area. I was bringing a baby stroller(with a baby in it… I wasn’t just pushing an empty stroller around), and to my dismay I learned there were stairs… no elevator! Wait, what? How can they get away with this? What if I were to have been in a wheelchair? So, I waited semi-patiently at the bottom of the stairs, until someone came out so that I could ask for their help in lugging the stroller, with baby in tow up the stairs. How inconvenient. The busboy guy was sweeping and just happened to step out into the hall, I called for him to help and sadly I did not speak Spanish well enough to communicate my need for help. After motioning enough, we understood each other and he helped me by lifting one end of the stroller up the thin stairwell. So, after that hiccup, I was looking forward to eating. I ordered the ginger salad and some sashimi, and all of it was good. Nothing blew me away, but the ginger salad was actually pretty darn good and quite a large portion. I had to again ask for help taking the stroller back downstairs… so again, annoying. I would have sat outside, but there was NOONE outside or even downstairs to help or greet me. They should have an elevator???

I noticed other reviewers deeming the sushi here expensive, but it’s only pricey if you are judging it on quantity. If you judged on QUALITY, however, Nooshi is great! The shrimp tempura roll I ordered(around $ 5.95) came with a few(but fairly large) pieces of sushi. It tasted really fresh, and the consistency of the sushi rice was perfect. I also tried the mai tai drink, which was yummy and the sweet mango sticky rice for dessert which was great as well! While flipping through the menu, I noticed they had a wide selection of various entrée plates; even ramen. They all were at a reasonable price(around $ 12 – 15). TIP: It’s a little hard to find this place, but you go through the side entrance(building with the huge painting with the woman on the side). The interior of the restaurant is modern and nice, downstairs seems to be better for dates, or parties of 2 – 3. whereas upstairs has seating for bigger parties. Nooshi is a cute place for sushi, and for meeting with friends. Worth trying this spot if you are in the DC area.
