LOVED this place! Nello was so friendly, and we had some great conversation while he personalized my cut. Well-​done, with attention to detail. As a college student, it was a little pricier than I had expected from reading the other ratings on Unilocal,but still a great deal for the area. Thank you!

I’ve waiting a long time to get my haircut in DC since moving here for college, and I’m so glad I picked Nello’s. Nello is fantastic– he’s personable, funny, and made me feel great. He pays attention to detail and it’s a great cut for the price. Definitely a great option for anyone, but especially college students looking for good value and a nice experience.

Thoroughly enjoy getting my haircut here. Nello takes his time and is not like the «get them in & out» places. He has been cutting hair for ~42 years. I’m 28 and he still keeps up with the times and can do any style. One thing to know is he takes cash only, which isn’t a big deal. Fantastic haircut every time and I’m on my 5ish one. Costs around $ 20 – 30, cheap for DC in my opinion. Very pleasant person and wish there were more out there like him. Will continue to come here until I move from DC.

My husband got his haircut while on vacation. Marcella did a great job with his cut. She asked him what number guards he usually gets and she took the time to thoroughly trim his hair. You can’t beat the price nor the beautiful location.
We chatted with Nello the owner and he’s a proud business owner — he’s been there for over 30 years. While we were there, another client got his haircut and it also looked fab. Apparently, this client will only let Nello cut his hair.

I have had my hair cut at various places in the city, but I like going to Nello’s for a basic no frills classic cut. He’s the only guy ever in there and it’s a one man operation.
Nello takes his time with your hair and looks at every possible angle. Sometimes he’ll get so into it that you’ll be sitting there for a while. One downside for me is that he doesn’t usually give you a shampoo too, but that’s not a big deal.
It’ll cost you $ 35 + tip. I highly recommend visiting Nello for a gentleman’s cut.
