I ate here from time to time and it was good. Too bad they closed. Hopefully the new taco place at this address will be good too.

I had breakfast here on July 31st around 10am. I ordered an omelette and a cup of coffee. The omelettes are made to order for $ 6.50 I believe. They seemed to be prepared in a lot of butter, which made the omelette taste good. Unfortunately, they used processed American cheese on top. I guess you have to pay $ 9-$ 10 for an omelette with«real» cheese. Overall, the omelette gets 4⁄5. The coffee was good enough. I brew my own stuff at home, but this coffee was an average 3⁄5 as standard black coffee goes.(Starbucks black coffee is only 3⁄5 at best if you want to know my standards on coffee) This place is known for it’s rotisserie chicken I believe. I’ll be back for that and other things like sandwiches because the prices are all very reasonable – especially for being next to the Takoma Metro and in the Takoma Park/Takoma area. I parked on a side street just a short walk away. There isn’t a separate parking lot and parking in general around that area can be a pain.

I work in the neighborhood and this is one of my go-to spots for picking up lunch. The chicken is always consistently delicious and I love the yucca fries with their special sauce. The prices are great. The ladies behind the counter are very sweet.

I’ve not had a bad bite here. The chicken is finger-lickin’ good. Even the white meat is tender. They have chicken and vegan options. The black beans are seasoned just right. Never knew black beans could be that tasty. The soups are comfort food eligible. Can someone tell me what’s in those little yellow mayo condiments? A dash of delicious that comes in sync with the rotisserie spices. I gotta go prepare for dinner…

Not open this morning, waited until 820am 6÷10÷15, posted for 20 minutes waiting for cook/owner anyone to operate a coffee maker. Zero for two on breakfast joints in this area. As others noted here, posted business hours are unreliable. Disappointing business outlook for people hoping to catch a metro on a schedule.

I cannot get enough of the chicken tacos and the fries. Absolutely amazing, and the service is wonderful!

I have only gotten breakfast and coffee. Both were mediocre. Coffee was bland. Bagel was bad. Egg and cheese were fine. I give it 3 stars because it seems like a place with potential to be a great little Café if spruced up décor and a refocus on being a coffee shop/Café.

So I come here frequently, often on a weeknight walking home from metro. Small family run place — good options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Best stuff on the menu — pollo a la brasa, grilled chicken tacos, and their black beans and rice. Their sandwiches are decent, but the chicken is where it’s at for me. Don’t let the fact it isn’t very crowded deter you from eating here — most folks get it to go. There is seating(and Boylan soda on tap) if you eat in. They also have a selection of vegan cakes and cookies, bottled juices(also bottled Boylan sodas as well). Not sure why they are closed on Saturdays, but they are open Sundays as well as weekdays. The breakfast options I found average — lunch and dinner are the way to go. Also the staff is always really friendly and customer service here great.

I stopped here on a Tuesday, and I couldn’t decided what I wanted. The lady at the register was very pleasant and welcoming. The place was small, but it the perfect size to sit and eat a casual meal with another person. After asking the lady about the various menu items, I decided to try a sweet corn tamale. I never had a corn tamale, so I asked about them. I told her that I have never has one. She replied, «Why would you get something that you never had?» She wasn’t rude, but I felt the question was odd. I politely told her,“because I feel you have to try different foods.” She explained that I can get one boiled or deep fried. according to the lady, the inside of the tamale varies by people and region. The tamale was simply ok. My Little Bistro boasts about having a vegan menu, so I decided to return to try other items. The next day I walked in and simply wanted black beans and rice. I had to wait on the cashier(not the lady from the previous day) to stop texting. Strike one! Then, I asked her for salsa with my beans and rice. She looks at me strange and says, «No salsa comes with that.» Ok… «I would like to add salsa and sour cream on the side». she replies rudely, «Sour cream doesn’t go with that.» Strike two. I’m annoyed because I asked for something, and she is telling me what I can’t add. I would have gladly paid the extra quarter. When my food arrives, it is hot like it. The young lady did give me a side of sour cream but no salsa, fork, or napkins. She simply gave me my bag and went back to texting. When I asked for the items, she threw the fork and napkins in the bag. I was beyond upset because I refuse to be treated rudely because I requested condiments. Though she may have felt that beans and rice don’t need anything, I requested the condiments. If the service was nicer, I would have gladly returned to try other items. I have to walk past My Little Bistro every day, and I was excited to know that they have many vegan and vegetarian options, but I can’t support a business with rude employees. There are too many places to eat in Takoma Park, so I will gladly take my money elsewhere.

We traveled from downtown DC to order takeout. We arrived well before 5:30. The Open sign in the window was illuminated, and the hours posted on Unilocal and by the door said they were open until six. The door was locked, and after the lady inside tried to shoo us away, she finally came to the door to explain that they were closed due to cleaning because she wanted to leave early. Updated 4÷28÷15: Moved to the area and come here more often now. Food is very good and most of the staff is very friendly so I upped to 3 stars. It is worth noting that I’ve since had a similar occurrence with staff trying to close early. I called in an order before 5:30 on a Sunday(closing time 6:00pm). The person on the phone was clearly irritated that I was ordering and told me I needed to be there in 5 minutes because she was going to close early, and was unfriendly when picking up. Unpleasant encounters like this happen too often and keep me from wanting to order more often, which really is a shame.

This place is low key and convenient on the way off the Metro if you live in the vicinity. I love the vegan menu with tamales, fries, dessert and the sandwiches! The tamales are fun to eat along with a tasty fake chicken sandwich — my favorite is, well, I like them all, but the vegan hot veggie sandwich with a mushroom focus is the one that calls my name. It is more unique than most vegan sandwiches because it doesn’t sub in fake meat — the mushrooms are fresh and oh so good! It also seems like a better price point, which allows me to justify an appetizer/side and dessert. Yum! It’s nice when a business makes it clear what can be vegan without having to ask a million questions or feel bad. Yum! Those who haven’t tried vegan chicken might not even feel like they’re «missing out» on anything — the vegan sandwiches are so well done. Try them, yum! The folks are nice, the space is chill, and the menu is decent. I do wish they had a combination though where you could have a side order + entrée/sandwich special on certain days of the week or just for lunch or something!

Reasonably priced, good quality food. We were really impressed with the omelette and also the steamed tamales. We also liked the vegan cookies which were really huge and impressive for the price. They also have really nice sodas on their soda fountain located behind the counter. We further liked the bagels and bagel sandwiches for breakfast. Coffee was good as well. This is a place best walked to, because parking is down the street in any direction but not right in front of the place. It’s really bright and nice, located only steps away from the Tacoma Park metro and Tacoma Park main street area. It has super big, bright windows along the front. The staff is really nice. If you don’t see anyone inside when you visit, don’t worry about it: this place has a brisk take-out business. I would estimate that 9⁄10 people who enter are doing takeout. Although bright, the restaurant doesn’t have the most amazing ambiance. It’s practical, has a big TV on one wall, and is simply decorated in a cute way but again, a practical way. It was clean and well organized. Again, the price was pretty much amazing for the food. That gets them 5-stars in DC in my book! You will not find a better deal in the area. It’s not a fancy place, it’s just good. High recommend.

Overpriced, bad food, slow service, not much to recommend. I went this past week and had the fish and chips and a soda, which came out to $ 15!!! For that price they better be the best fish and chips in the world. They really were pretty awful. The fried fish tasted super fishy and was nasty, and the fries were overcooked and not salty enough. They gave me about a teaspoon of ketchup to go with the fries, which is insane, I mean, really, a teaspoon of kethcup for a full serving of fries??? Also, the lady at the counter said it would take 5 minutes, ended up taking about 15 minutes. VERY disappointed, won’t be going back. If I want overpriced food I want it served promptly and I want it to be delicious.

Best place I’ve been to in Takoma. Really close to the metro, but it’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it. I’d definitely recommend trying it out. They have a lot of great options, but I would especially recommend anythign involving chicken. Some favorites: smoked turkey sandwich, my little bistro club, and the grilled chicken and peppers.(I love sandwiches, okay?) The prices are great, and everyone who works there is always absolutely wonderful.

After living in the neighbor for over 2 years, I decided to stop in for a late weekday lunch. I ordered the vegan tuscan«chicken» sandwich with Yucca fries. At least that’s what I ordered but I received regular fries instead. Bummer!!! I sat down at a table near the window and chowed down. The sandwich was okay and I hardly ate the fries. By the end of my meal, I felt unsatisfied or maybe it was the desire for a sweet treat so I got a vegan banana choc chip oatmeal cookie. It was enjoyable, very much like banana bread, no nuts. Would probably pair well warm with a nice scoop of coconut(vegan option) ice cream. It’s simple, easy and in the neighborhood. Not too bad.

My Little Bistro offers fresh tasty food and friendly service. The tacos are some of the best in the DC area, and they have the best chicken soup I’ve ever tasted. The place is quirky — I don’t quite understand why there’s a shop for random things like back packs and knick knacks. The chairs and tables are simple, but a little wobbly. It’s got plenty of natural light, a big screen tv(usually muted, so not too distracting), and a retro assortment of sodas in bottles and from a machine. My only criticisms are that I wish the taco servings were a little bigger(but that’s not a big deal, just get an extra taco or two!) and the«shop» part of it just doesn’t really make sense. I think they’d be better off committing to the restaurant idea, and sprucing up the décor a little. Go. You won’t regret it.

Good food. Cute quaint little place. Reminds me of a diner I used to go to back in Detroit. Since it is so close to my apartment, I will definitely go back. My only complaint is, I just wish it was open on Saturdays.

Great vegan food. My favorite is the vegan club sandwich. The owner is very sweet, and the slightly pricey sandwiches are worth it! Gotta love the meat free discount on Mondays!

Vegan MLB Club Sandwich $ 10(5⁄5 NOMs) I went vegan! What? just one time, got to experiment. I thought«chicken» was good, but didn’t taste like chicken! It was nice soft sandwich. Bacon Egg & Cheese Bagel $ 5(5⁄5 NOMs). I had vegan and I liked it, but bacon strikes back. That was an excellent addition to my Vegan Club Sandwich. Because it had MEAT!
