Pretty good pad thai and nice little place on 18th st. Worth checking out, it’s about as good as regent thai just up the street, and better than thaiphoon.

As much as I wanted to like this place… I can’t.hospitality has shifted since management changed. Food is great, the place is beautiful and clean everything else is a disaster. The restaurant is freezing I wore a north face jacket the entire meal. At 8:00 pm there was no warm saki available, ordered a caraf to have it placed in front of me and not poured, I’m sorry if I spend 19.00 on a bottle someone better pour it. My friends app came out first and they didn’t have it come out in courses it all came out at once. There was 2 other guests in the whole restaurant so it made no sense. Service is just horrible which if I was eating at a dive bar then I wouldn’t be writing this review. If you want to charge high end prices then you need the service to match. Very disappointed won’t dine here again.

Heads up, America! THISPLACEISCLOSINGTHISWEEKEND. My fellow Mum Mum-er and I visited the staff on Sunday night for some delish sushi and drinks only to hear the terrible news. Due to the lack of patronage, this fantastic establishment is closing its doors. Rumor has it that some«homestyle yummery» may be coming in, but that’s just speculation at this point. Bottom line: this place may have been a bit off the beaten path from AdMo proper(in a good way), but you SERIOUSLY missed out if you didn’t dip inside. Fantastic, non-complicated drinks; fresh sushi and ranging menu; upstairs deck and outside patio; rad employees; and just all-around good vibes. Really sad to see this place go. Join me in giving the staff a proper send-off this Friday, January 31.

Awesome delivery sushi. I was very skeptical to order from a restaurant I had not gone to but was craving sushi in a new neighborhood. I have ordered a handful of times and each time the service and order is excellent.

I thought my meal was good. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain too much about. I would definitely like to try happy hour. Sushi was not too expensive but reasonable for dc. If sushi was happy hour price it would be a great deal. If you are looking for decent sushi and don’t want to burn a hole in your pocket. This is a good place.

I have recently become addicted to sushi which is great when I am at work because there are so many good places in the MD burbs, but in Adams Morgan I am always at a loss for places to go. It seems as though Mum Mum’s may have filled that hole in my stomach. I have been here twice now and the first thing you will notice is the menu is overwhelming. The nice thing about this is whether you want soup or Thai or appetizers or sushi this place will have you covered. This place also has a significant list of good craft beers. This is one of my biggest qualms with Asian restaurants. I always have to concede to drinking some Japanese lager if I want to have a beer with Asian food. While Kirin Light is the best option possible if you are doing sake bombs, it doesn’t always satisfy my taste buds on the solo. At Mum Mum’s I do not have to worry about this. They have eight solid craft beers from Goose Island, flying dog, smuttynose, etc. The sushi itself was very well done. My friend and I tried 4 different rolls and they were all good. My favorite was easily the Mum Mum roll with the ninja roll as a runner up. During happy hour they have a selection of appetizers from $ 3-$ 5 and $ 3 rolls. Also a $ 3 seasonal draft. When I was there it was a Smuttynose porter which was very good. More good news is happy hour starts at 1(till 7:30) on Sunday so if you want some cheap sushi, beer, and to watch the football game that is on the local channel. I will be back here again soon to try more of their sushi and maybe even some of their Thai entrees.

Wow! Roasted duck noodle soup was incredibly good. If your’e a noodle soup fan, this place is a great choice with reasonable prices. Nice surprise.

Usually pretty quiet when I walk by here on 18th, but they have a pretty sick happy hour. $ 1/piece sushi(salmon, tuna, yellowtail, etc.)! Also have an interesting selection of appetizers, including Asian style ravioli, tempura, or spring rolls, among others. I tried their Crab Wontons, which could have used more crab in it. Drunken Noodles were quite greasy, but tasty nonetheless. Portion /taste though weren’t really worth the $ 10+ in my humble opinion. I may come back for drinks and a few happy hour items, or their sweet rooftop, but other than that, there are other places in the area that are comparable in price but better quality.

We found this place while walking around looking for a place to hang out after having brunch in the area. There were football games on so a number of businesses were having happy hour specials. My brother likes sushi so we decided to stop here even though we weren’t really interested in food. We hung out for a few hours and that was no problem with the staff. Granted, they weren’t that busy. The happy hour specials were amazing! Cheap beer. And I had a mojito and it was absolutely delicious. The crab wontons were pretty good. The hot and sour soup was, as well. My brother tried out a few pieces of «sushi»(it was really sashimi) and thought they were decent. Note: They have a rooftop deck which sounds pretty cool, but we didn’t go up cause it was cold outside.

It’s a dark spot with high prices. Food was average and the drinks were also overpriced. I see no need to go back.

I loved the ambiance and I thought the roof deck was fabulous. It was pretty quiet for a Thursday night and I enjoyed every minute of it — I hate trying to have dinner with friends where you can’t hear anyone. The Mum Mum roll was delicious, the wine pours quite generous, and the service was great even with a large group. Will definitely be back.

The first time in my life I have walked out of a place with a full plate of sushi left. The fish was old or something was off. My friend & I tried a piece of each of the three roles ordered and were scared to eat more. We told the waiter, he just brought us the check. His lack of concern or surprise was enough to make sure I never returned. The place is cute, hope they up the food quality :)

I needed a quick stop for HH and the service and food was excellent. Of course there wasn’t a great deal of people here but I enjoyed myself and the service I was provided.

Went here because the rooftop dining area is awesome. The service was extremely quick and friendly, and the food was good. Prices were also solid. However nothing really stood out about the sushi. I liked this place for the change in scenery and the ability to sit outside, but I’m in no rush to return.

I love this place. Yeah, the Sushi isn’t amazing… but, let’s be honest with ourselves, DC is not a place with amazing sushi. Though I do think it is quite good, and doesn’t seem as crazy expensive as the other mediocre Sushi joints around town(I’m looking at you Raku). And the $ 1 sushi happy hour can’t be beat. Though, If we’re being honest with ourselves, if it wasn’t for the happy hour and the decent prices I’d say this is pretty much any other sushi place and give it a 3. Also, all the servers I’ve ever had are super sweet and I love them. So worth an extra star for that as well.

This is one of the only sushi spots open late on a Sunday night, and Im so glad that it is. The atmosphere is great, the food is good, and the staff is some of the friendliest ive met in DC. I literally commented at the meal that it might be my new favorite sushi spot. I highly recommend the Miso soup, Salmon sashimi, and calamari. Do check it out.

Occupying the space formerly occupied by Zabb, Mum Mum is still an Asian joint with great happy hour deals on Singha and Sake bombs, as well as deals on some sushi and nigiri selections. It’s a great place to sit in the sun with the pup. The remodeled bar inside is now much longer, serving far more people than before and the service is great.
