After many years after first trying this awful eatery and vowing not to eat at Moe’s again, I made the mistake of trying — thinking that maybe the location was the problem. Not! It’s the whole freakin’ chain! Please go find something else to eat, even if you are tempted by Moe Mondays.

Moe’s is a Chipotle-esque type place which has pretty decent specials early in the week. Taco Tuesday features two tacos, chips, salsa, and a drink for about $ 7. The portions of meat and veggies in the tacos are not huge, but it really does make for a decent lunch, and probably the only Mexican option in the immediate area. The employees are always super-friendly and they also have one of those new age soda machines that offers over 100 options! I recommend the green salsa :)

This isn’t like the other locations — food here is not fresh, the service is terrible because they don’t listen to you to what you do and don’t want in your burrito, and of course, it’s inside a food court.

I stopped by for Free Queso Day and was expecting more of a line and more of a crowd based on the reviews. I must have hit it at a good time because the line wasn’t any longer than anywhere else. I just finished my burrito and it tastes like the ones at the other Moe’s I’ve been to. Not the best burrito I’ve ever had, but not the worst and I thought the location was just fine — I didn’t even know it existed until today! It seems like a good option for food on a day I forget my lunch.

I only went because I got the $ 5 for $ 8 groupon and I still spent $ 10. Id rather had went to five guys or the chinese place. I got the quesadilla but I didn’t like it. It wasn’t nasty but it wasn’t what I expected. Whatever sauce they give for the nachos was not good. I ate my chips dry. Nothing would make me return, too many other options in there, plus Mcdonalds is outside.

Dry rice, dry meat, small portions, bad service. This place is bad even compared to other Moe’s.

If you’re familiar with Moe’s, this branch can be a bit of a disappointment. The food court is typically packed with groups of school children visiting DC for the first time. They’re cute and sweet but don’t explore new food, so Moes, Five Guys and the pizza shop are always slammed at lunch. That means very little attention to your order, getting hustled down the line like you’re a component in a Foxconn plant, and the shocking contamination of burrito components. For those of you who hate sour cream as much as me you know the great letdown that can be. On the positive side, on Mondays they have the best deal in town: any burrito, chips and a drink for $ 5.50 tax included. Score! That deal alone earns them an extra star here and at least $ 20 monthly from my trust fund.

This is the big and usually crowded food court. Moe’s is popular at lunchtime but the line moves quickly. You can get taco salads, quesadillas, nachos, tacos, or burritos(this what I usually get). The burrito comes in a tortilla or in a bowl depending on your carb tolerance level. You can get steak, chicken, pork, or ground beef are your meat options. Rice, pinto or black beans, onion, mushroom, bell pepper, and cheese, lettuce and salsa round out your meal. Everything is fresh, served fast, and comes with free chips and salsa(hear that, Chipotle). On mondays a burrito and drink is on special for $ 5.99. For a decent lunch at an okay price check this place out. Oh and don’t be surprised if the staff says«Welcome to Moe’s» as you walk up.

AWFULSERVICE — so so food. The workers here are so rude– they rush you through the line, roll your eyes if you ask something, and the food isn’t even that great. The guy was yelling«cheese or no cheese? «when I took over 2 seconds to respond. Then they wrapped up the burrito without the rest of the toppings I wanted and rolled their eyes when I asked for them. The chips are Stale and bland. The rest of the stuff was okay. Oh and they don’t have spicy salsa. What a crummy place.

Moe’s is yet another burrito/taco establishment which builds your meal assembly-line style; but unlike its predecessors, Moe’s gives you substantially less input on your creation at a higher price. Choose your baseline burrito from an assorted selection of preordained burrito assembly-kits with such authentic names such as the«Homewrecker» or «Joey Bag of Donuts». Said distinctions will determine which ingredients your burrito is eligible to receive. While these same ingredients are free to all burritos at liberated establishments like Chipotle, Moe’s prefers to stifle our apetite for variety with their oppressive régime of standardized templates. The grade-B meat is spread thin atop a bed of dry brown rice and black beans, all topped off with the much maligned pre-selected ingredients. While I’m sure the master-chefs at Moe’s had good intentions when they envisioned that their sub-par ingredients could harmonize once altogether in the soggy embrace of their thin flour tortilla, this bevy of mexican food is nothing more than a cacophony of poorly managed potential. «And you say I have to pay more than what I do at Chipotle? Tell me more Moe…» Not only did Moe nearly ruin the assembly-line burrito making business, he almost fucked-up the unfuck-upable…a fucking burrito! Moe: Call me when you decide to get serious about this burrito business.

This is part of Eat at National Place and is really on 1300 block of Fst NW. I go here on Tuesdays and lately it’s been all about Moe’s and the Personal Trainer(taco bowl salad). The bowl is light and flaky, the black beans are tasty, and there are decent toppings. The only bad part for me is that the guacamole is extra, where as if I go to Chipotle, they give you guac on the veggie tacos for free. It is nice that they label the vegetarian options on the menu also, makes it easier to pick and to know which topics to avoid.
