What an amazing work(s) of art. It’s slightly freaky how realistic the figures are. There is public parking on tenth street and it puts you in walking distance of it, the international spy museum and the Hard Rock Café! It is a little pricy but well worth it.

Pretty cool gallery. I’ve never been to a Madame Tussauds and I went here one evening for a party on Halloween. The exhibits were pretty cool and super realistic. There are definitely some sculptures that are better than others but the good ones are so cool and lifelike. They have people from all walks of life, from politicians, to actors/actresses, to musicians, etc. Very diverse and somewhat eclectic group of people. As a native Washingtonian, I’m definitely spoiled by all of the cool museums that DC has to offer so this one was overall«ehh.» I’m also a huge nerd and love all the intellectual museums and learning. That being said, this is a great, fun, casual activity to go do if you don’t want to do the other mainstream museums in DC. However, I would say that if you’ve seen it once, there’s really no need to go see it again.

This place is a very good idea. It’s a bit small but, it definitely deserves a visit. My boyfriend didn’t think he would like it but he liked it more than I did. The customer service here is very helpful. Ask them one question and they can give you a verbal essay. I like that in a company. Pretty pricey for what its worth. It cost us $ 25 a person. I walked through the whole place in 15 mins. Also parking was $ 22 if you are parked for more than 1 hour. All in all it’s a great exhibit to experience.

I had a good visit. I brought back several pictures to share with my friends. The exhibit had three main section. The first was presidents and historical figures. The second was reserved for athletes. The third was comprised of celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Samuel L. Jackson and many more. The wax museum offered facts about Madam Tussauds life as well well as all the wax figures. after the exhibit there is a gift shop. I bout a statuette for 10 dollars, they engraved it for free and threw in an additional statuette, I got more than I expected. Fun place, I recommend checking it out when you are in the D.C. area.

My girl had wanted to visit for a while, do we finally made it here to help celebrate her birthday. We arrived at opening and the staff seemed a bit unorganized. I guess they fell behind on their opening procedures. The exhibits are pretty good, but it all goes by pretty quick. If u want a picture with Pres. Obama or the royal family, you have to pay their photographer. You can’t just walk up to that exhibit and take your own selfie, etc. That’s a bit shady in my view, particularly after buying tickets to enter. Overall, it was interesting, and some of the wax sculptures were really life-like. 3 stars — if you’ve got the money and the time, go for it. If you’re just seeing the sights in town for a few days, I’d skip it.

I have been to many wax museums(Amsterdam, San Antonio, etc.) and I have to say this one was pretty cool. It wasn’t crowded which is a huge plus, especially when you want to take photos. Some of the sculptures weren’t the best, but at the end of the day it’s all for fun and games. I wish there were more interactive elements to the museum though. The reason I give 3 stars is because we chose to pay for the digital images they took of us and when we got home that week the images were not available online like we were told they would be. Huge disappointment.

Less crowded, very neat and excellent customer service. After knowing that I had tried to book online tickets but due to some problem at their end the transaction couldn’t be completed, they gave special price tickets.

My wife and I visited Madame Tussauds museum on a Sunday. The crowd was not bad at all. It was a great experience. Wax figures were life like and realistic. Make sure that you take plenty of photos for memory sake. You may need to bring a better camera than a smart phone. In certain areas there is low light which can affect the quality of your photos. For the most part the lighting is good in the museum. If you would like to save M.O.N.E.Y on admission try getting a Groupon. July 15, 2015

We got free passes because we had bought bus passes from Big Bus D.C. We hadn’t planned on going otherwise. I can say I was pleasantly surprised. We got to see all of the presidents, a few historical figures, actors, musicians, tv personalities, and Madame Tousseau herself. Getting to see the details in the faces up close was fascinating. I’m not sure how the got the curly hair on one president to line up so well. It wasn’t too busy while we were there, midday on a Wednesday, but 2 bus tours were entering as we were leaving, so I’m guessing it can get very crowded.

If you are walking by the museum, you can look in and see a few figures outside or just inside the lobby. That is essentially the inside tour too. The bar was raised high since my first Madame Tussauds was in London. If you compare the two, it will be a giant disappointment. The guards are bored and don’t know any details about exhibits. The only really cool part of the museum is taking your picture at «the oval office»(which you can also do downtown at a white house gift shop if you spent more than $ 5). Not worth the price of admission. Save your money and buy astronaut ice cream at the Air & Space museum. There are spaces because I fell asleep while writing this.

This place is great. They have all the presidents, plus a variety of very well known celebrities. They also often have 2 for 1 deals on Groupon, so look out for that. The line for getting a photo being the press podium or the oval office desk can get very long, and I feel like if they staffed two people instead of one, the process could move much more quickly. Plus, you have to purchase the photos they take of you there, and they get a little touchy about you having someone next to their photographer taking a photo with your own camera. But do it anyways. It’s a once in a lifetime. :)

This is a fun thing to do once. I’m not sure if the wax figures are different in different locations, but it doesn’t seem like it would be enjoyable after one visit. You learn about how the wax figures are made, how much work, thought, and time goes into each figure. The history and whole process is fascinating. You wind around and get to see many, many figures, all grouped thematically. So you have all of the presidents first, sports figures, pop stars, newscasters. They have most celebrities I would expect them to. Each figure also has a small plaque with information about the person. Some of the stations are even a bit interactive. Be sure to bring your camera because half the fun is taking silly pictures. You’re allowed to touch the figures(or they have really poor security with it!) so it’s a great place to have some fun. It’s also great to get really upclose with the figures and stare at them in the eye. See if you can hold it because once you really look, your brain kind of tricks you into thinking they are real people. It’s quite an experience!

The tour itself lasts as long as you make it. Never having been much of a history buff I glanced through the president’s quarters and carried on to the entertainment portion. Got a picture of Wax Michael Jackson with his hand on my junk and Tiger Woods about to give me some TLC but other than that it was too short of a trip for the price of admission. They don’t even have Will Smith anymore.

I just recently got back from a vacation in WashingtonD.C. and this was one of the places we visited. I had never been to a wax museum before, so I did not know what to expect. I absolutely loved! The wax figures looked so real. The museum itself is not huge, but features all of the presidents and many historical figures. They also have a good amount of entertainment and sports figures. My favorite wax figures of course are the current president and first lady. They have there own photographer for pics with Obama and wife. It cost $ 20 dollars. But try to get another person to take a pic(it will just be from the side instead of a direct pic). Also, look for deals and discounts on entry there(I used travelzoo and got admission for $ 13). They also offer AAA and military discounts. I would recommend this place if you are in the area.
