I’m a clothes horse who wears a shirt and a tie every day. When I found out about Kc, I was anxious to try them. The prices were very good, less than many high end, off the rack, ill fitting, name brand shirts. I called Keith, and he told me when he’d be in to measure. He didn’t show, so we made another appointment for him to come to the retail business I manage. Another appt, no show. I applied the 3 strikes rule, and he came. The fabrics were amazing, the options were exactly what I wanted, so I placed my order & paid in advance. He’s been doing this for 35 years so the trust was high. Delivery was 4 to 6 weeks, which is reasonable for custom. At week 8, I called him to find out what was going on. I was told there was a fabric back order, and that they would be ready soon. I said, no problem, just don’t rush them. I wanted them done properly. 4 weeks later, they were delivered. Oddly, the box was marked rush. I took them home, hand washed them, ironed them and tried them on. The collar on 1 of the 2 was unwearably tight. The armholes were pulling the fabric because they were too tight. The collars and cuffs were not exactly as specified, but I figured that could be corrected on the next order. We started negotiating on shirt #2 and It was decided that if the seams were let out and the collar was remade, all would be well. I gave him the shirt and was told 2 weeks. 6 weeks later and 3 phone calls later, he dropped the shirt off at work. When I got home, I looked at it. None of the work had been done as promised. The collar button had been moved an inch. That’s all that was done. This absolutely doesn’t work on a pin collar, because it’s still too tight when you put the pin in. I called and left a message that I was disappointed that he hadn’t done what was promised. I have not received any return calls in 5 weeks. I had hoped to set up a regular purchase of shirts every couple of months from Keith. Instead, I have a shirt I can’t wear, a shirt that is tight, and won’t buy any others from him. Any time something is custom made, there will be some issues in the first run. I was prepared for that. No one in business can afford to keep customers if they don’t give a reasonable level of service. He will lose my repeat business, and I lose the opportunity to have shirts that really fit properly. Don’t bother to buy from him unless you have money to throw away. By the way, the shirts were very well made in the U.S. If we had worked out the fit issues, I’d be buying more right now.
