We were in town for a wedding and hit up the Queen Anne Farmers Market. We got a smoothie from the Juice Peddler — the blender is attached to a bike and you pedal to make your own smoothie! How eco-chic! My fiancée pedaled his heart out and we enjoyed our smoothie in the downpour. The smoothie was fresh, cool, and refreshing.

I love what you’re about, Juice Peddler. You pick your smoothie blend, a pleasant lady puts it in a blender and attached that blender to a stationary bike. You, the customer, then pedal that bike to power the blender. After a solid minute, you have a smoothie and an elevated heart rate. Not too shabby.

At the Queen Anne Farmer’s Market on Thursdays, from 3 pm top 7 pm. On W. Crockett St., between Queen Anne Ave and 2nd Ave W. They don’t have a website, but they do have a Facebook page. Peddle your way to deliciousness. About a dozen choices of Juices and Smoothies made with selected local organic ingredients. Human/bicycle powered blenders work surprisingly well. Plus, after peddling, you feel that you really earned the smoothie. Just be prepared to wait in line because the kids(and adults) get all excited about this. So you know it’s good.
