I was really looking forward to trying the juice joint, but was extremely disappointed by the service and prices. I paid almost $ 8 dollars for a small smoothie, and on top of that they gave me the wrong one. When I asked the lady at the counter if it was mine, because I ordered a chocolate almond and she gave me a berry looking drink, she confirmed this was mine and gave my drink to the woman behind me. I won’t be purchasing from juice joint again.

I was down in DC for a conference and I came here every morning to get the Mango Madness smoothie. Freshly made smoothie? Yes pls! Tom was super sweet and remembered me even though I was only here for a couple of days. The girl from NYC he called me.

This is my second time going to juice joint and I’ve had a negative experience both times so far. While the veggie lasagna I had the first time was good, the«jerk chicken wrap» I had today was horrible. The chicken tasted old and was dry as hell. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t put a sauce of some kind. The«mango salsa» was almost non-existent especially since the lettuce was way too much. Finally, the worst part about both times I’ve been there is the attitude of the people working the cashiers. BOTH times I’ve been there, I’ve had someone give me attitude if I asked a question about something on their menu. Customer service seems to be something they don’t really care about. I would shrug off someone’s attitude if it happens once, but definitely not twice.

It’s great to have a healthy lunch go-to spot in downtown D.C. Their salads are delicious. The staff is very friendly and polite. I’d recommend: — The turkey burger(comes with guac!) — The grilled salmon with brown rice and veggies — The grilled chicken Caesar salad — Daily specials(the fennel quesadilla is one of my favs!) The only«miss» I’ve had here was the tuna wrap.

I’ve been coming here since 2006 when I started working in McPherson Square. Probably one of the only places downtown to get freshly squeezed wheat grass shots, along with other fresh juices. They have a great lunch menu, comprised of a lot of salads, wraps and vegan options along with nice juice blends and probably the only place I know that has turmeric shots. That’s pretty maj. Management is efficient, organized and clean; I have never seen a dirty bathroom or a table not wiped and all the food is always fresh and abundant. They have a big outdoor patio that’s situated right on Vermont, perfect for people watching. One of my favorite places downtown for a quick, healthy lunch.

I enjoy the grilled salmon over salad(regular menu), and the turkey meatloaf(Thursday special). I haven’t had a lot of other options from the menu but these 2 are worth the visit.

Food was ok but not really anything great but the portions are sort of small for what you’re paying. Nice outdoor seating area. Staff were all nice too.

Time to power up! Love this place for lunch, snacks, smoothies whenever we’re in town. They were super helpful helping me select something close to my concoction at home.

With so many reviews and a high rating, I had pretty high expectations for this place. Luckily it met them and I got exactly what I was hoping for: a healthy, fast lunch with fresh food! I ordered the salmon salad with a lovely mango salsa(big, fresh chunks of mango; not something you get out of a jar). The salmon had a great grilled flavor. It definitely hit the spot! Will be coming back to try a different salad!

You can get anything you need here really… they have daily specials and packaged juice and food… breakfast or lunch. This place stays busy but they are quick and efficient. A tad pricey… well worth it if you need your v-8 though.

Needing a light lunch and a one-two-punch of vitamins, I sought out a fresh juice joint and settled on just that… the Juice Joint. Before even ordering, I knew this was the perfect place to fit the bill, as the cooler was jam-packed with nutritious goodness like boiled eggs, veggie cups, fruit, yogurt, and salads. I ordered the mango madness smoothie and it was perfection. Thick and indulgent without any added sugar — just the deliciousness of whole mangos, pineapple, bananas, and oranges. The owner is also extra friendly and as he was closing up his shop for the weekend, he sent us off with a salad. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who makes an effort to not be wasteful.

I visited during lunch hour and ordered one of the specials of the day to go. I got the half roasted Cilantro-lime chicken, served with a salad and quinoa. Service was great. I didn’t have to wait long for my food. The portion was more than enough or probably just right for most. The breast was a little dry. There were some juices at the bottom of the container that I used to moisten the meat. Flavor was decent. Quinoa and salad were simple but good. The salad had what tasted like a balsamic vinaigrette on it. It was a decent, filling meal but I wouldn’t necessarily get it again. I do want to go back in the near future to try other dishes. (Note about picture: it is a half chicken but half of it is hiding under the salad)

Love Juice Joint — I come here often because it’s such a great option to get a delicious and healthy lunch. All of the ingredients are so fresh, and everything is MTO. Some highlights: Southwest breakfast wrap(do yourself the favor and add turkey sausage), Salmon/chicken stir-fry, Asian salmon wrap(Monday & Tuesdays). My only complaint is that I always end up spending a little more than I expect to. I think the menu is overpriced on a number of items, for example: over $ 6 for medium-sized orange juice — I know it’s fresh squeezed but c’mon, + $ 2.25 for turkey sausage, and when you aren’t told about up-charges for things like quinoa vs. brown rice, it makes you roll your eyes. However, you pay for what you get, and the quality is very good. I’d just come here more often than I already do if not for the price tag.

Their southwest wrap was delicious! Very filling and tasty. I also had the plantain a la Cubana and it was so yummy! My dad had the salmon wrap and a juice and he was in love with the food. The owner is there everyday serving people and is so friendly. He is so personable and makes the experience even better! He even remembered the order I had made from the day before. Great customer service and so delicious! Highly recommend

Yummy wraps! I always get their breakfast wrap. ITIS very decent in size! I usually cut it in half and eat it for breakfast and lunch. Very hardy and taste great even in re-heat. Their smoothie is fresh and tasty. If you work near by it is a nice place to visit for your breakfast and/or lunch. My colleagues got their lunch wraps and everything looks delicious. Staff and owners are super friendly. They remember my name when I visit. Wish they can move or expand to VA and closer to me.

Love this place. Have only ordered juices and smoothies here(no entrees) but they’re delicious and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I think the price points are reasonable too – considering you’re getting a freshly made juice that is usually a meal substitute. You also have the option to make your own – so if you want something less sweet you can create vegetable based juices. I don’t think there are a ton of large juice bars in DC; Juice Joint Café has a whole juice station and has more variety than some health food places that have a handful of milk/dairy based smoothies. This place is located downtown, so it’s most busy M-F during breakfast and lunch rushes. Shout out to Ralph – always smiling and friendly behind the counter.

I love this place — it’s one of my go-to lunch spots and never disappoints! My favorite is the tofu stir-fry, but I have also had their veggie burger and a variety of their juices. That stir-fry though. So delicious. The customer service is also on-point. The owner and servers are always friendly!

Great made to order smoothie. Super fresh, lots of great mix ins. Fresh turmeric was available. Lots of other selections too; organic local farm eggs, great food to take away. Not too pricey. The owner is super accommodating and friendly.

This review is only for its soup and customer service. After a grueling computerized exam leaving me feeling shell shocked downtown on a cool fall day, I was craving soup to ground me and make me human again. I saw Juice Joint and wasn’t sure until Unilocal told me it had soup. In I walk and the owner offered me to try the three different types of soup. Granted it was not prime lunch time, but Tom went out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted. And I’m glad I was able to taste test because I changed my mind! I stood by the side and tried out the samples, waited for less than five seconds after I finished and he asked for my order. None of this«ignore the customer until they come up to me» attitude. No wonder the place has been in business for almost 20 years. If only this place was closer to where I lived!!!

Pretty good option when you’re looking for a healthy alternative for breakfast or lunch. The juice and smoothies are good, but they can get a little expensive. Also, the smoothies are made with juice, which makes them a bit on the sweet side. You can sub milk or yogurt but it costs $ 1 more on an already pricy smoothie. Lunch options are good and pretty diverse. They have everything from wraps, to burgers and stir fry. My personal favorite is the cajun catfish wrap or the salmon wrap. They also have different flavored tortillas. It’s always packed during lunch, so I wouldn’t recommend coming if you are in a rush. They also accept LevelUp which is great when you don’t have a lot of cash.

I visited Juice Joint this morning, I wanted something very simple… kale, spinach, banana, and strawberries with a water base. I drink this smoothie practically every day, either at home or at Vida Fitness. The owner was very rude when I asked for a water base. He stated that he doesn’t put DC tap water in any of his smoothies. I stated, it’s fine I use it everyday. His exact response was, «that’s your prerogative, go do it at home». Not really sure, why asking for water in my smoothie would cause such a rude response, but nevertheless, I won’t be returning. And if he hates DC tap water that much, shouldn’t they have a water filter in the place? I’m sure they use tap water for other things. I was excited to have found a juice place close to my job and was planning on going there everyday for breakfast and lunch… but I guess it’s the owner’s way or no way. Make sure when you go, you only choose smoothies that the owner has specifically approved.

As I didn’t grab much but a ginger shot… all I can say is will visit again. They had these cute little muffin cookies will get one next time… this time I was looking for a boost, also I love ginger… –although I will say I didn’t like that they handed me a ginger shot in a shotty plastic ramekin.(Not appealing) SMILE!

While I love that this is a place that offers fresh juice, something DC is sorely lacking in, I’m disappointed that the juice is completely lacking in any pulp or fiber which is most of the point of getting fresh juice IMO. They also have a mostly fruit-based juice menu with some fun veggie options(cabbage? cool!) but the juice combos on the board don’t really take advantage of the veggies, not a single one even has kale in it. Since I wanted to get my veggies in I decided to make my own — apple base with beet, kale, and ginger. I turned out well but I would have appreciated more guidance on what works well together(and felt like the staff was annoyed I even asked what would taste good). Since it’s close to my work I’ll probably be back and will specifically ask for a pulpy juice next time.

Came here yesterday for lunch to get something healthy. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and smoothies on their menu. I ended up getting the salmon spinach salad for around $ 11 with tax. I was pretty disappointed at the size of my portion and presentation. I understand this place is a café and not a restaurant but the salad was served in a hot dog tray and the olives tasted like they came from a can. For a place that prides themselves on being organic, I expected more. Also for $ 11, they could have provided a bigger serving. For $ 11 at Chopt I could have gotten so much more! I will have to come back another time to try something else and weigh in again.

I had the Apple Berry Twist juice. It had a strong ginger taste, which I enjoyed. The atmosphere was bright, the staff was efficient and friendly, there was a good lunch time rush, and the food looked delicious. If you check in on Unilocal, you get $ 1 off of a large juice or smoothie. UPDATE: My second time at this place lessened my opinion of it. I took advantage of the Check In $ 1 off a large juice promotion. I watched as 10 other people got their food, smoothies, and juices ahead of me. I waited for about 15 minutes as the girl in the back finally got to blending my juice. When my number was called, I approached the counter. I watched as the expeditor handed people their food who did not have receipts. He refused to hand me mine without showing him my receipt. I had literally just watched a young white couple get their food who had no slips of paper in their hands. That felt like a microagression, seeing as how I am a black woman. I was dressed professionally and he had seen me patiently waiting for my number to be called for over 15 minutes, so I don’t know why he singled me out like I hadn’t paid. When I sipped my Tom’s Choice juice, it was full of grit and sediment from the juicer not filtering ginger and carrot chunks out. I’m on a juice fast right now, and treated myself to this juice today. I’m not supposed to ingest anything solid, and drinking juice with hunks of ginger and carrot goes against the straight juice I wanted. Maybe I’ll return again, but only for food.

Everything is great — food, juices, variety, staff — except the price. I love the food in this place. The specials change regularly(i.e. they’re true specials) and the selection is incredibly diverse. The Puerto Rican in me appreciates the occasional Cuban wraps with fried plantains. They use a lot of healthier ingredients like ground turkey, avocado, and spinach wraps in their menu. Their juices are pretty good. I’d encourage them to play mad scientist and come up with a weekly, or monthly juice creation just to break up the monotony. Their breakfast is also good. I like their whole wheat pancakes, personally. Or rather I like them enough that I haven’t gotten around to trying other things but I imagine they’re good too. This place is quality. I also make note of their very friendly staff and owner, Tom. They remember their regulars, often by name, and aren’t afraid to make menu recommendations. The one thing I wish was a little different is the price. I imagine this has to do with them being an independent shop, economies of scale, and the location, so I can understand it. But if you’re not careful, a hot lunch and a juice or shake can easily set you back $ 15-$ 20, and that’s a lot for lunch.

Juice Joint is my go to lunch spot on work days. I call as I am walking to the restaurant and my food is always ready when I get there. They have several healthy options. My top three are their veggie burger, any one of their salmon dishes, and the kickin chicken sandwich. I do not think there is a bad item on the menu. This is a great lunch spot!

This place is GOOD. I love their V7. Super fresh juice and nice, healthy lunch options. Juice Joint also does not over salt their food like every other lunch place in town. My favorites are the wraps. I love that they carry Braggs Aminos. Service is organized and efficient. I’ve never had to wait long. Bottom line: you get high quality food for what you pay for and zero guilt.

Great spot to get some delicious, fresh juice. I wish DC had more of these kinds of places. I have only had the juice here and it is always delicious. If you check in on Unilocal you can get $ 1 off a large size. At $ 7 it is not super cheap but reasonable. I forget the name of the one I get(I think it is Tims special?) but it has Apple, carrot, beet, and ginger. They do it right? The service is great and since I was walking several blocks in the rain they even taped up the cup and placed the juice in a bag(I told them I was walking home and wouldn’t be drinking it for a few minutes. Very friendly staff and service.

After having one too many unhealthy but delicious meals here in DC, thought I would slow it down with a healthy smoothie. Juice Joint just so happens to be down the block from my hotel so I stopped in for a green juice or something. Checked out the menu and the mango madness smoothie caught my eye(I can go green tomorrow). It’s a pretty standard smoothie, except I really don’t taste any mango? The pineapple and banana come out strong. I mean the smoothie still tastes good for what it is, I guess I was just excited to get my last taste of mango before they go out of season. I would come back to try the other foods they have. Looks like they have a long list of sandwiches and other goodies so I’ll give it another go.
