Yummy Middle Eastern food that I can walk to pickup? Yes, please! Ordered the gyro sandwich and the meat was great — could have used a bit more sauce, but I didn’t ask for extra, so, my bad. The husband ordered the chicken kabob with rice and it was delicious with great seasoning. Highly recommended!

order cancelled. i live less then 5 min away. 0 out of 5 for service. the food is ahhhighht… 2 out of 5(that may be too many stars). delivery will take about 1hr ½ to 2hr +! not recommended!!! honestly worst kabob yet in dc. the workers are far from professional. everyone should probably unite and boycott this establishment so we can knock it down and put something to be proud of there. #gentrificationplease

If I could give no stars I would. First problem my order was wrong. The girl taking the order over the phone couldn’t figure out how to charge my credit card so I said I would pay in cash for the delivery. I placed my order around 7pm. The delivery person arrived after several calls from me concerning the status of my order, around 845pm. One of the side orders I placed was spinach. The spinach had about ½ inch of oil sitting on top of it, who makes spinach with oil? Also ordered a side of rice their was no rice but extra horrible spinach was in its place. Secondly the delivery person told me they ended up charging my credit card but they didn’t bring the receipt for me to sign. The desert I ordered was like something off a shelf out of the 7 – 11 snack aisle. Then they forgot my salad. I called the restaurant back about the salad they said its on the way. At 1115pm the salad arrives. Really? And they didn’t bring the credit card receipt again.

I ordered and was left waiting 2 hours until I was told that the driver had a problem. Please don’t order from this restaurant. I will never order from here again what horrible customer service. I had to pick one star I had no choice the don’t deserve it.

Ordered delivery. Arrived on time as promised. There was a block party going on near my house and I had no idea my direct street was closed. The driver parked down the street and walked my food the rest of the way. The rice is so fragrant! Excellent combo with the Malai Kabob Chicken. Also tasted the lamb. Seasoned well but a bit fatty. Not much meat on the bone compared to the size of the pieces. Naan was crispy on the edges but I prefer it that way. Will order again!

Ordered for the office thru grub hub(need to stop doing that — that site has had problems)… it took three hours!!! The food was excellent(or we were starving). I called to inquire about the whereabouts of the order and the person on the other line was very nice and offered extra food. We didn’t get that extra food. I would like to order from this place again, but the phone doesn’t work for the number they have advertised. I would give more stars for the actual taste of the food and less stars for the food actually getting here. Probably won’t get delivery from here again, MIGHT get take out.

My coworkers and I ordered lunch through grub hub, and once we finally received our order, we were severely disappointed. We ordered the chicken kabob with rice(which was as dry as the desert), a gyro(which wasn’t bad), and a side of lamb(which was basically a heart attack in a styrofoam bowl because there was so much grease). Won’t be ordering from here again.

We went here on an icy Sunday looking for a gyro. Besides Cava Mezze there are no greek options on the Hill and definitely no short order greek options. I saw that Jannat had a gyro so we defnitely had to give it a try! I called in my order for carry out and it was ready within 15 minutes. The gyro was hot and tasty. I wouldn’t call it an «authentic» gyro but their take on the gyro. Instead of using pita bread they use lavash bread which made it huge. The gyro meat was good and filling. Next time I would ask for more tzaziki dressing. The fries were the typical carryout fare so I can’t complain but the guy behind the counter was nice enough and gave me a complimentary soda! Yay! As far as carry out options go, this one is a winner. I’d like to try some of the other items on the list soon!

Vegan reviewer. Yay! very excited to find a new place close to home that has options. They have chickpea, cauliflower and potato and spinach dishes, plus rice and nan. Everything had a nice balance of spices and not too spicy hot, just flavorful. Tasty! All if it is very greasy, but grease tastes goooood.

i ordered from Jannat, and the food was alright, nothing great, but they used my credit card to overcharge me nearly $ 22 on the«tip». upon calling, they claimed they had no idea what happened and wouldn’t budge on the extra amount, saying i must have been feeling extra generous that evening. no. i find this kind of merchant behavior irresponsible and reprehensible, especially for a place that probably needs all the customers it can get. so, i wouldn’t ever order from them using a card unless you want to get scammed.

this time around, the husband and I ordered a gyro platter(be careful to say you want the sandwich, or the platter will include meat only) & the grill lamb Kabobs. For the platter you get a large 14 in naan, rice, and any veggie side you want. The lamb platter came with 5 large kabob, perfectly grilled and marinated peices. They have new specials up all the time, I would love to try one of their daily curries next time. I suggest calling for pick up since it takes about 10 – 15 minutes to many any dish since it’s so fresh. Gyro platter came with the same thing. I really love this place for some good, fresh, and healthy ethnic food in the area.

The chicken and chickpeas were great, but the naan was a little dried out. What really inspired me to write a review is the astonishingly rude delivery experience I just had. I ordered through GrubHub, and I got the usual«your order is on the way!» text, and about 15 minutes later hear banging on our door like he’s got a warrant. He screamed in my partner’s face«NEXTTIMEPICKUPTHEPHONE» and walked off after thrusting the food at us. I had tipped in advance, and I always try to tip well and be especially courteous to delivery people and restaurant workers, it’s hard work, and they deserve respect. Even so, it doesn’t merit that kind of behavior, and it is kinda his job to ya’know… be delivering the food. I had no missed calls or texts. We don’t even live in apartment building or anything that’s hard to get to, we live in a house, with a place to park. I’ve never experienced that kind of hostility from a delivery person before and will not be ordering again, when I otherwise probably would have been a loyal customer.

Ordered delivery tonight. never again. Food showed up cold. and what a rip off. My gyro had one slither of lamb, the pizza was like a personal pan size and my kabobs which I paid $ 13 for were literally a piece of lamb and chicken thrown into a box. The chickpeas had leaked all over the bag… awful. just awful. The reason for the 2 stars was that the flavor was there. but the portion sizes for the cost. not so much.

This review is for pick-up only, not the delivery. I eat here about twice a month, and it’s everything I want from a local hole-in-the wall. Cheap prices, an abundance of food, excellent flavors and fast, friendly service. Highly recommend the chicken curry plate. It’s the best I’ve had in the district — bold spices, excellent sauce, and perfect texture. It still has bones in it, so if you’re expecting boneless, skinless chicken breasts, you’ll be disappointed. The sides are awesome with my favorite being the cauliflower curry. My good Bengali, Indian friend said it’s the best he’s had out of India. Every time he visits from out of town, we have to go there. He also sometimes gets the kabob, which he said is pretty good. I haven’t tried it yet since the curry dishes are so good, there’s no reason to switch it up. I did make the mistake and ordered a pizza from here once, and never again. Came late, cold and mutilated. But, if you’re in the mood for great curried dishes and kabobs, I definitely recommend heading here.

Ordered around 10:30pm one evening and the food took over an hour to arrive, which I wasn’t super happy about. The chicken shawarma was super heavy on a white sauce that tasted like watered-down mayo, although i am generally a mayo fine. however the chicken on the inside was really well seasoned, which was good. my bf got the white pizza, which was AMAZING. i almost ate all of his. despite the delivery wait, i will definitely order again and get a larger white pizza…

Ugh. For starters, what kind of kebab has bones? Made our first delivery order from Jannat, and it will definitely be the last. Not only was the food disappointing, but it arrived late and not warm. I had to chat with the Eat24 staff to find out where it was. According to Eat24, he had tried to contact us. No one knocked, and my phone didn’t ring until after I told the Eat24 person that they hadn’t called. Fine. serve me a disappointing meal, but don’t fib about the delivery.

Due to lack of imagination, I was headed to Horace and Dickie’s to grab a bite to eat. I really wasn’t in the mood for fried foods and Jannat Kabob restaurant caught my eye with the word HALLAL. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while but it was never the right time. Tonight, however, was the night. The folks that worked there were very friendly and answered our questions. We ended up getting curried goat and curried chicken. Both were excellent and the portion sizes were great. We couldn’t eat the entire meal. We found the rice tasty and the meat succulent. We wish there weren’t so many bones but what the hell. We will be back. I forgot to get the naan. After tasting that, they may go to a 5 star. (Woman of my word. Before 10:00 p.m.)

Ordered delivery tonight. Maybe this isn’t where they shine. Ordered pita salad(no onions), lamb kabob, and chicken fingers with blue cheese dressing. Said I would pay cash. Delivery guy comes with NO change, so I had to call the restaurant to pay by cc. He handed me my order, along with an empty pizza box(not sure why). Lamb was un-chewable or cut-able. SO tough — and no flavor, no marinade.nada. That was one tough old lamb shoulder!
Pita salad had lots of onion(I ordered no onion, and hate raw onion). Chicken fingers — cooked perfectly! But no blue cheese dressing… honey mustard. Argghh! There are too many choices to deliver to my house to try Jannat again. If I was coming out of a bar near there drunk, I would try a slice, but knowing the location of the restaurant, I will not be walking around there drunk any time soon.

The gyro and fries were really good but my pita was a little hard in some spots. I’ll definitely return because it was quite tasty.
