Rice and peas were undercooked. There is nothing I hate more than undercooked rice. Curry chicken was«okay». Flavor was great and the meat was tender but SO many bones. Plantains were really good, and I don’t normally like sweet plantains. Portion sizes are pretty good and I feel like I paid a fair price for what I got. Service was friendly.

Friendly service… But expensive. $ 3 for a bottle of soda that costs $ 1 retail is silly. And the jerk chicken was so salty I could not finish it. $ 16 for lunch, I expect more.

In the realm of two and three quarters stars. I was sad to be catching them without oxtails or curry goat or brown stew chicken. After looking at the portioning, there was no way that I would’ve had room for plaintains or a beef patty. Service was brisk but fine, she remembered my drink as she was handing me the food. Traditional beverages are pre-packaged. Chopped jerk chicken sandwich($ 8) was pretty big, and reminded me of how much I like coco bread. Of the two sauces provided, the hot sauce had a nice kick. Mellow yellow($ 10) was equally filling. Chicken curry was tender and reasonably flavorful, though the rice was overcooked and soaked up all the oil. Steamed cabbage was lightly seasoned and just cooked through with some pea/diced carrot medley.

(3.5 stars) I am a huge sucker for jerk chicken so naturally I had to try this food truck. It was towards the end of lunch time and the only option they really had available was the jerk chicken wings. They were awesome! The jerk rub had great flavor while the meat was juicy and peeled off the bone. The truck offered two sauces with the wings: a pepper sauce and a hot sauce. The pepper sauce was a little overwhelming and I wouldn’t recommending adding to the jerk chicken but the hot sauce had good flavor and could complement the jerk chicken nicely(although I chose not to do so because the jerk flavor on its own was perfect for me.) My one complaint about the wings was that there was residue oil that rested below them that did not taste very good when the wings had already sat in them. It be nice if they could figure out a way to serve the chicken wings without the oil accumulating beneath them. My main reason for not giving this truck a higher rating is that the service is substandard. My friend had order a vegetarian burrito but discovered that there was chicken in it. When he went back to the truck to return the burrito, the workers were not that friendly and they questioned him, denying that they had put chicken in the burrito. Once he pulled a piece of chicken out of it, they gave him a refund. This truck could greatly benefit from improving their service. Regardless though, the jerk chicken wings were delicious and if you have a similar affinity for jerk-flavored food, you will surely love them!

I saw this brightly colored food truck while making a quick trip to DC and decided to stop and take a look. I stood there for about 5 minutes before the woman in the truck even acknowledged me. And when she took my order she forgot my drink as well. I’m taking off stars since the service was pretty rude. She could have told me to wait a minute and it would have been fine but instead she ignored me. I was tempted to walk to another food truck. I ended up getting a Jamaican beef patty for a quick snack. For around $ 3 it was really tasty considering it was from a truck — definitely comparable to the ones I get from Caribbean markets. The menu looked pretty extensive and yummy with curry chicken, burritos, salads and more but I wanted something I could eat while walking. I’d maybe consider coming here again.
