Some of the best fried chicken you could ever get — unless, of course, your grandmother was cooking it! I was introduced to Gist Family Catering when they catered a business luncheon I attended. Everything was delicious… even the peach cobbler. Since then, I’ve been happy to recommend them to others for graduation parties, family reunions, business functions, etc. The food is well prepared, the service is friendly and professional.

The Gist Family Catering Service is a wonderful catering company that serves the DC area — their motto is: ‘Quality service at a reasonable price’ — the owner, Ms. Yvonne Gist, and her staff at this company are friendly and makes you feel extremely comfortable. They offer wonderful home-​cooked meals and delicious varieties — I especially love love LOVE their special ‘punch’ — secret ingredients that makes it a very nice, fruity, fizzy drink! I could literally drink this all day long! Their cobblers are also pretty famous, and their peach cobbler was amaaaazing — chunks of peaches, lovely crust and dough, and not overly sweet. They have a Cook Out Menu (which includes potato salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, BBQ ribs/​chicken, tuna macaroni, burgers, etc.), a Breakfast & Boxed Lunches menu (boiled eggs, waffles, fruit, danishes, muffins, etc.); a Lunch & Dinner menu (spaghetti, meat sauce, rice pilaf, chicken with mushroom sauce, turkey & stuffing with gravy, mac n’ cheese, baked chicken, etc.); a Reception menu (salmon ala gist, chicken fingers, veggie tray, mini cheese cakes, roast am, roast turkey, roast beef, wingettes, hot salmon balls, buffalo wings, etc.); and, a Reception menu (fried and baked chicken, potato salad, green beans, rolls, cobblers, etc.). Great tasting and solid food for your catering needs — I would love to use their services for get-​togethers, birthdays, the holidays, etc. Check them out!
