Understatement of the year: «I love Georgetown Frame Shoppe.» I love spending money, but I hate wasting it. HATE. And for someone who lives in Los Angeles that’s clearly a problem, as everything out here is ridiculously overpriced — especially fine art. So I went on a hunt to find the art I love without a big city premium. And that’s when I found these guys. I live clear across the country from this gallery and have never stepped foot inside, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into by purchasing art from them. I spoke to Peter and Judith numerous times over the phone before my purchase and they were both friendly, informative, and very patient with all of my questions and concerns. They have a great return policy and the COA’s they provide with their art basically guarantees authenticity or your money back. So I figured I had nothing to lose and went ahead with the purchase. They shipped my piece out on Monday and I received it on friday, packed from head-to-toe in cardboard and packing tape and sandwiched between two pieces of acid-free foam core and then two more pieces of plywood, all with about 6+ inches of margin all around the piece. Basically, the only potential to cause any damage to my artwork would be a psycho with a chainsaw. As for the art inside, it’s exactly what I had hoped it would be! It’s in perfect condition andI can’t wait to have it framed and show it off! Everything about the experience, from the knowledge of Peter and Judith, to the quality of my piece, and even the shipping has been absolutely first-rate. I’m looking forward to a lasting professional relationship with both of them and can’t wait until our next transaction!

Can you imagine spending over a grand on a custom frame? Well, my family can now. My partner and I were researching places that could custom frame Hermes Scarves and this was the most impressive choice in DC. The service and craftsmanship is absolutely unmatched. We worked with two nice men on the design of the frame. They had some novel suggestions that sent us in a completely new direction. I came in wanting something simple and black, and left having ordered something in a soft-gold color. When you see the walls filled with their creations, you know you should trust them. These are the best frame artisans of Washington. You cannot go wrong with this cute little shop. But bring you big Louis Vuitton wallet! This will cost a pretty penny.

Outstanding! I’d been looking for a specific Renoir etching for a while, and they had a fantastic selection. I was incredibly happy to find someone local as well! The one that I was interested in was already framed, but they kindly offered to reframe if for me for free if I didn’t like the current frame. Fortunately, I thought it was tasteful, and it fit in superbly with the rest of my décor. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to jazz up their art collection– they carry everything from Disney production cells to Picasso.

I originally found Georgetown Frame Shoppe through a Deals for Deeds coupon and took my husband’s diploma to be framed. They were extremely helpful in creating the right look and offering options, the price came out as expected, they finished the product very quickly, and the end result was beautiful. I also had the good fortune of stopping in recently to buy a slew of small frames for a pile of wedding photos. The woman really went out of her way to help me chose the best frames for each photo, grabbing frames I would have never considered or ones that were a little bit hidden from my first glance, and even put all of the photos in my new frames(some of which she cut to crop for the frame). I think I spent a solid 45 minutes in the store with her devoted help.

These guys are good, really good. I bought my wife a vintage 1938 «Hotel Du Nord» move poster as a wedding present, and I was looking to get it framed. The Georgetown Frame Shoppe is right around the corner from my office, so I thought I’d give them a try. I wandered over there on my lunch break and was amazed at what I found. It’s more of an art gallery than frame shop(sorry, «Shoppe»). Friendly, knowledgeable staff who treat every job like they are framing a Warhol or Picasso. Pete took the time to walk me thru all of the glass and frame options. No pressure. They were quick too, I think they framed my oversized poster in about a week. They even offered to deliver it to my house. Pretty great service. Just know excellence has a price, so if you’re looking for a cheap frame, I’d try Ikea… Nice work guys, I’ll be back.

I took a poster to the G’Town Frame Shoppe on a work field trip. I knew it would be fancy, but this place is FAN-CY. You have to ring the doorbell to even get in!(I got in ok.) The quality of their work is outstanding. I was surprised that their employees were so laid back and didn’t really persuade me into one mat color or shade. When I picked up the poster perfection, it had lotso good bubble wrap and came with two wall mounts. Very professional store and they have a lot of neat art for sale, too! I could never go here outside of work, though… The whole job ran $ 350+.
