So happy to find organic, plant-based food in DC during my visit from California. The collard tacos are great, with sweet and super tender collard greens, too. Thank you for nourishing me while I’m traveling!

Fruitive is delicious, a healthy alternative for lunch. With that being said, this place gets ridiculously packed for lunch and because the space is so small, that makes it much worse. I would recommend coming after 1:00 if you don’t want to wait in a long line. So far I have only had the smoothie bowls and juices. At around $ 8 – 10, these aren’t the cheapest but the prices aren’t too bad. The smoothie bowls are a little on the smaller side but they’re made with high quality ingredients and are topped with a good amount of fruit and granola. My favorite is the PBnoJ, made with peanut butter, acai and bananas. The juices and milks(love the brazil nut milk) are top notch and flavorful, thankfully not watered down. I have not tried any of the wraps or tacos but definitely plan on trying the collard tacos soon(vegan tacos made with a collard«shell». The avocado toasts look good, especially the one with the strawberries and balsamic, that one seems to be pretty popular. $ 5 does seem quite steep for two little avocado toasts though considering I could make it myself for much less than that. Note: they have stands in most of the Farmers markets in the city. I usually see them at the Thursday market near the White House.

This place is awesome! I work near here, and I go very often. The antioxidant berry bowl has the perfect amount of granola to fruits ratio. The avocado toast has an amazing garlic mayo put on it, which makes it the best avocado toast I have eaten. Definitely recommend this place! Everything is very fresh

I’ve been working my way through their menu and keep being amazed by the fresh food, unique juices, great service and knowledgeable staff! Today I tried the Tuscan Kale Grilled Wrap! Full of kale, butternut squash and more and more veggies. Filling and pleasing to the palate, this omnivore did not miss eating meat at all.

I was so excited to try this place, just now hearing about it, can’t believe it’s been around so long and I’ve never noticed it at CC. I’ve had the Mushroom Panini which was delicious! I love how the menu has pictures of everything so you can figure out what to get. The PB No J bowl wasn’t all that to me. The Tuscan Kale wrap was too spicy! They don’t keep an eye on the front of the store during lunch and once the trash was piling up over the trash can and they were out of napkins. I guess they are short staffed because sometimes the cashier has to go help out in the kitchen. The wait for food is very long! Once I was asked to leave a tip for my carry out meal??? Are all the employees part of a prison work release program, all the men just have this rough look to them.

This is a wonderful place to eat. I absolutely love the kale salad. Their food is delicious and their juices are really really good. I have tried about 7 different juices so far and they are the best quality that I have ever experienced in juices. I just tried the Fruitiv one day juice fast using mostly green juices and it is marvelous. I highly recommend it. It was a great experience! The Fruitiv website is really great and explains in depth questions that you may have on their juice fasts. If you are interested in juice fasting then Fruitiv is the premier place in DC to try. Fruitiv also has a nutritionist available for consultatons. The staff is great, very knowledgeable and pleasant and they all look healthy which is a great advertisement in my book.

The BEST wraps in town! I first saw Fruitive at the White House and Center City markets. When I saw their store in City Center, I decided to give it a try. I highly recommend The Tuscan Kale Grilled wrap, it’s amazing! It’s very nutritious and super filling packed with quinoa, kale, butternut squash, caramelized onions. With all the healthy ingredients, the wrap is still delicious. Even the wraps at Chop’t aren’t as good. I’ve had the tacos — I like the Southwest and Sesame tacos. They are made of collard greens, tasty — but not very filling. I also had the Collard Wrap and substituted the rice for quinoa, which I strongly don’t recommend. Just get the rice — it’s worth the carbs. The granola is good too. I bought a bag, a bit expensive for $ 8, but it’s pretty flavorful and worth it. Packed with oats, apples, almonds, chia seeds, etc. you can’t go wrong. Contrary to their core, their juices are okay. I’ve had the Dragon berry and Iron Berry. They aren’t that good and not worth the steep price — $ 12 for juice. Save your money and get the wraps at Fruitive. Jrink is a better option for juices. The hidden gem, Forever Young Café, in the Ronald Reagon building has the best smoothies and juices made with real yogurt and only $ 5. The 5 star review is reflective of the impeccable service. Most eateries especially in downtown DC are quick to get people in and out — you’re just another order. Not at Fruitive. Every time I walk into Fruitive, the staff is very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. I’ve never experienced such great customer service another else in terms of casual eateries.

Fruitive is a good place to go especially on a hot summer day. It’s a little bit on the expensive side but it’s refreshing to be inside the store and the food is refreshing and tasty. I have eaten the southwestern wrap, avocado toast, and the berry acai bowl and they tasted good. The only downsides about the place are: 1. They don’t have any meat products in their food. 2. The açai bowls are too watered down. I would suggest going with the avocado toast and a smoothie before one of the bowls or wraps. I would go back again to this place especially on a hot day in the summer.

A great vegan option in the city. I had the collard wrap and it was delicious. my only suggestion would be they fill it with a bit less rice. I was very happy to stumble upon this place. Had I been in town longer, I would have visited again to try more from their menu.

Awesome place! I moved from Southern California and was spoiled with amazing Acai bowls, which I crave on a regular basis… I moved to DC and have been trying to find a somewhat decent Acai bowl and this place exceeded my expectations! It was a little chilly outside but I was on a mission to find a yummy/healthy snack and I was not disappointed by my choice or the excellent and fast service.

So good! I’m in town for work and was stumbling around trying to find somewhere that had veg options & wifi while waiting to check into my hotel. I got the southwest salad and it is delicious! Great vibe to this place — super friendly staff, fun window seating, grab & go juices, and OUTLETS!!! I don’t think they have public wifi, but I was able to jump on Xfinity’s wifi — which is good enough for me.

My husband and I saw a picture of one of their super berry bowls on Unilocal’s IG page and decided to try them out one day after jogging(our-attempt-to-be-healthy-day). I had the Green Supreme and my husband had the Berry bowl($ 10 each). His was more thick than mine, I’d say mine was the consistency of baby food which didn’t seem appealing, but still tasted fine! I really liked my bowl, I sampled his, but to me the fruit was so cold I couldn’t enjoy it as much. Mine was a bit tangy because of the orange juice and mango I believe. When we went there was no one in line, so our orders came out in a decent amount of time, but while leaving more people came in and the line was moving slow on placing/getting orders. I also did find a very small bit of metal in my granola, which left me feeling a bit uneasy. Even after that I’d still like to come back and try some other items.

Cool little spot that seems to be popular with locals, especially the college kids. They have plenty of creative juice mixes and you can read the benefits of the different ingredients. We didn’t sample any food, but it’s a good concept in the healthy foods market. The space is small but kept well and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Finally, something healthy and organic in Chinatown district! Service is very friendly and personable, and the food tastes great! Chop’t is not as healthy as it pretends to be and makes me feel heavy and sick after eating their salads. Fruitive is a fresh and definitely better alternative!

My new favorite! I’m in love with the Southwest Grilled Wrap. I asked for it to be made without the wild rice, and they said ‘Sure!” I was surprised because I thought it was all premixed(it certainly didn’t taste like it!). It’s rather hefty… meaning it could almost be lunch and dinner. I say«almost» because I was starving and went pig-mode and ate the whole thing(I did take a few minute break). I had a sample of the antioxidant berry bowl… but will go back for the regular size. The place is clean and modern. Great service… thanks Steve!

I really needed a place like this in my life. Fruitive offers super delicious, healthy foods, for more than reasonable prices. All the food is super instagrammable too, if you’re one of those people, which I proudly am. They offer a wide range of smoothies, bowls, wraps, toasts, and paninis. I’m def coming back to try one of their avo toasts and the portobello panini. Yum. Anyways, it’s a cool little place in City Center, right near Hugo Boss and Momofuku. Great area. The restaurant itself is super cute too. It’s a cashier-style place, so you go up to the counter and place your order there. There’s not much seating, but the areas they have are great for people watching. I got the PB no J bowl and it was DELISH and more than filled me up! The presentation was super cute(so are the guys that work there). The service was great, super friendly and polite, and the manager was sure to ask my name and how I liked my meal. A+. They also have outlets near the seating areas, which is always a plus.

I stopped by after a spin class having a hankering for a smoothie. I recently was out in Cali and had some delicious smoothie and Acai bowls so I was anxious to find similar products in DC! I ordered the antioxidant berry bowl. While the flavor was there with a good amount of toppings, I was disappointed with the size! The bowl is small, maybe half the size of ones I had in Cali. So flavor good, but not the best value for money. Also, I was surprised coconut sugar was an addition in the bowls… the bowls have fruit! Fruit is usually sweet!

another reviewer couldn’t have said it better: it’s places like this that perpetuate the stigma that vegetarian food isn’t filling or nourishing enough, and let me add tasty enough. I’ve tried the hail kale salad, portabella panini, cucumber sandwich and all were flavorless. The avocado toast is the ONLY flavorful item so far. If I haven’t felt duped enough by the price point of this place, today did it. I went for the southwest wrap which includes rice and beans. What I got was a lettuce massaged in avocado sauce wrap. I felt so ripped off after realizing they skimped HARD on the protein(the rice and beans). Summary: This no name place can’t survive on selling juice alone so they offer some food. The focus is to build their brand by opening in City Center while cutting corners on delivering flavor and ingredients in the food. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out the juice is cut with water. I’ve bought a variety of their juices since they opened which taste like real pressed juices and was excited about healthy food in the area but on principal of the price point and being generally disappointed by the food, I’m done.

I’ve eaten here twice. I had one of each of the tacos(not including the southwest, which wasn’t on the menu at the time I went) and the original collard wrap. Everything was delicious and fresh. At first the tacos looked a little skimpy to me, but then I dug in and with the grains and other fillings, I was stuffed. The collard wrap looks big and is big. I could have probably stopped at half but it was too delicious. I loved the flavor combos. The only reason I’m deducting one star is for the price. Both times I ended up paying ~$ 13⁄14 for the food only. The drinks start at about ~$ 10 so I wasn’t even going there. Granted, I cook really healthfully at home and I understand healthy food costs more, but it is still tough to swallow on a regular basis. I really look forward to when they introduce the acai bowls(despite, I know, the price). Oh, and I recommended it to a colleague from out of town. She went for breakfast and had the avocado toast and a juice. She said it was the best avocado toast she had ever tasted. Will have to try that… Oh, and the people who work here are super friendly.

Just had their Kale wrapped tacos — three of them for about $ 10. The original and the southwest were my favorite but all three were delicious, the ingredients were as fresh as they come and three of these is a very large(and healthy) lunch! I will definitely go back!

I’m a vegetarian so was really excited when this place opened. Tried it today and got the mushroom panini with avocado and the beet juice. With tax the panini was $ 10 and when I opened it I was dumbfounded as to what I paid that money for. It was tiny, dry and hardly warm. One of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had and more than anything it makes me mad bc veggie sandwiches can be so delicious but it’s places like this that perpetuate the stigma that vegetarian food isn’t filling or nourishing enough. The juice was good but for another $ 10/bottle I should have just bought a kombucha at Walgreens.

I would give Fruitive 4 stars, but I’m giving them 3 because fresh, organic, food can still be flavorful but sometimes they miss the mark. I’ve sampled their salads and the dressing seems nonexistent. And I am not a person who wants some salty, sugary, creamy dressing slathered on my fresh vegetables but the flavor isn’t there. I’ve also tried the Southwest Grilled Wrap that had more flavor but was still missing something. The staff is great but I do wonder if the ones who are still training are not clear on some ingredients and the flavor I’m looking for based on the descriptions is ACTUALLY missing from my order. Who knows. I’ve also had the PB no J super berry bowl. It was very fresh but again I felt like something was missing. And some of the cacao nibs were too hard to chew. Had to spit out quite a few of them. The one thing I’ve tried and have no complaints about is the avocado toast. It is perfection. Sliced avocado, vegan pesto mayo, salt, pepper, oregano, on 2 pieces of flax spelt bread. It is delicious and filling for breakfast or a snack. With all that being said, you should still give Fruitive a try because I can’t knock fresh, organic, healthy(which is redundant) food.

Fruitive offers such delicious healthy food options and refreshing juices. As a transplant from Cali where cold pressed juices and acai bowls are at every corner — fresh and economical, finding Fruitive has been a great discovery. Their Southwest salad is very tasty! The hummus adds a great flavor and it is a lot healthier than your typical restaurant Southwest salad. I also ordered the Nobility juice and it’s very tart and refreshing. While they are cheaper out west, Fruitive is very fair priced for this area. The juices are about $ 10, but when the juices become more than a day or two old, they sell it at a 30% discount. I purchased two«fresh» juices and one«discounted» juice and they all taste great. I highly recommend trying this place out. The options here are as tasty as they are healthy!

Still in soft opening phase. This place has a lot of upside and will be a nice addition to downtown. I have been on juice for a while since it is such an easy way to get refreshment and nutrients. They sell bowls and tacos but I only tried the juice. The beet is dark and tart.

I love Fruitive. The smoothies are SO good. I love how they offer a lot of variety and they always taste delicious. The food is really good too. Love the collard wraps. I’m looking forward to trying out more of the food after the soft opening is over. The food is expensive, but it’s all organic, so it’s worth it. I actually think it’s cheaper than Le Pain Quotidien, and it’s better quality.

I had lunch here, the Southwest Tacos. They were decent and healthy, but nothing to call home about and probably not worth $ 11. To clarify, the taco shell is actually a collard green leaf and the tacos are cold. The sprouts took up a large part of the filling, so on the whole, while it’s not a tiny portion, you’re not getting a lot of food either. The space is very nicely designed though, with bookcases and mini display cases that make the juice bottles look like jewelry. It’s small and so doesn’t have seating, but there are some counters along the windows. I might try breakfast sometime and could see coming back for lunch in the summer, when something cold is more appropriate.

I visited Fruitive yesterday on their first day officially open. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable — they let me try a bunch of their juices before I ended up buying the Kalevolution cold pressed juice(an employee favorite & suggestion). The other two juices I sampled were delicious as well. They also have meal replacement smoothies(liquid meals) and a ton of other delicious looking things on their menu. They also did a really good job on the space — it is small but welcoming. I will definitely be back soon!
