They cost more, they are open less, they take longer, and their work is poor. I lose on every front by doing business here. There is no point at which they can compete with my other cleaners and taylors. WORST of all is their sense of quality service. They seemed surprised that anyone would find a problem with their work, and instead of just taking care of it, they made me stand around for ten minutes while they debated the issue with their cleaning plant over the phone. I always smell my clothes to see if they are clean. I brought in a blazer to be tailored and cleaned. It came back smelling like b.o. I took it back. When I returned days later it still smelled like dirty laundry, but it took it anyway to have it cleaned at my regular cleaner in Falls Church. POSITIVES My clothes come back very nicely pressed. Predictably, the place is not very busy, and they have no trouble finding your clothes. In fact, I can see them hanging out. You should never have to wait in line. BOTTOMLINE: This is a place for people who don’t want to wait in line, who want a nicely pressed garment and have no sense of smell.

This woman is so lovely. I worked right around the corner and took a big winter coat, heavy wool, that needed alterations. I had an idea of what I wanted but was not completely sure, and she helped me figure out what I needed, and ended up taking in the sides, taking in the arm width and shortening the sleeves. So knowledgable and patient! A lot of work for such a heavy fabric, and she did a beautiful job. The process was very comprehensive, since I came back a week later to check on the status and make sure the fitting was what I wanted. I tried it on again once she was finished, so the process was satisfyingly iterative and I felt encouraged to give her feedback on what I wanted. Thank you Eve!

Brought a loose fitting sport coat to her that I really liked the fabric on, she suggested the alterations(including modifying some of the padding), and it came back fitting perfectly. With other tailors I’ve had to specify exactly what I want(how tight, how loose, which seams to adjust, etc) and I am not the expert so I might get that wrong. Will definitely keep coming back to her whenever I need things altered.

Eve is very friendly and will make your clothes look like they were made for you. She has made a suiting vest fit much better by shortening the entire piece and altering the neck and shoulders, and taken in a designer brand dress for me. I think for the quality of work she does her price is fair.

I was in DC on business travel and the zipper of my brand new dress was stuck. I couldn’t get out of the dress and thought I might have to sleep in it! I found Eve’s Custom Tailoring on Unilocal and walked in. The seamstress/owner was quite knowledgeable and even asked if I had time for her to fix the zipper. I sat behind her curtain(sans clothes!) and in 10 minutes my dress was fixed. The craftsmanship and quality was fantastic! Thank you!!!

To me, a four star rating means the place is good, and five star means it’s outstanding. In my case, the owner of Eve’s went above and beyond to help me in my situation. I was staying in DC over the weekend and needed shirts to be cleaned, however, did not foresee that Columbus day was coming up and that most(if not all) dry cleaners would not be able to handle a Friday drop-off and Monday morning pick up as they will be closed. I also had laundry that needed to be done. So I asked her to have one shirt ready for me to pick up same day and get the rest Tuesday so that I can at least get away with a clean shirt on Monday(as I still had to go to work). When I went to pick up what I thought was just a single shirt, I found out that she had handwashed two shirts, two under shirts, two pairs of socks and underwear for me and hand dried and ironed them! What a huge unexpected pleasant surprise! At this point it’s not even about prices, she could’ve easily just did one shirt as I asked her, but she guessed(correctly) what kind of situation I was in and helped me out tremendously. Highly recommended for the superb service.

This place is located inside the National Press Building, on the second floor. Mrs. Lee is an amazing tailor. She really doesn’t speak much English, but don’t let that put you off. She is head and shoulders above the usual dry cleaner/tailor. It’s a little more $$ than some places, but you get much more than you pay for. For example, I asked her to hem some pants, and she immediately pointed out(though hand signals) that the real problem was how the pants fit in the waist. She was right, now they are perfect. She’s done difficult work on suit jackets for me, too. Oh, and the dry cleaning is fine, just normal.
