We came for restaurant week and blown away. The atmosphere was perfect for an intimate date night however you could by all means conduct a business meeting there. The food was amazing. Here’s what we got: First up we were greeted by a nice loaf of sesame bread accompanied with a light fluffy butter… let the crowd say YUM! Next up appetizers, we indulged in Del Friscos spin on a classic caesar salad(in my opinion it was a simple salad that needed a little more dressing up). My boyfriend however thoroughly enjoyed this and raved about the homemade croutons. Before finishing the salads our beautiful entrees arrived on a scorching hot plate(DON“T TOUCH) really don’t touch you will hurt yourself. Beauty is pain right… because the pan– seared salmon and filet mignon did not disappoint. The salmon was so moist, resting on a bed of mashed potatoes, green beans and delicious lemon butter sauce. His filet mignon was next to a scoop of mashed potatoes and green beans. WELOVED the mashed potatoes wow perfection. At that point when our waiter Rock asked if we were ready for dessert we both looked at each other and said hmm do we have room? Final touch; dessert. Now if you are like me I love a yummy sweet treat after a delectable meal. We selected the cheesecake my boyfriend opted for butterscotch sauce and as for me the strawberry sauce. It was thick, creamy and extra cheesy. He loved it… I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. The recap, we will be back. The one thing that did catch our attention we were not escorted up by the hostess to go upstairs. Now this was our first time and we were taken aback by that one minor detail. However we are not malicious people so we didn’t take it to heart. If you are looking for a nice intimate dinning experience check out Del Friscos. I Added a few pictures of our meal.

Short story: You can do better; go elsewhere. Long story: We are steak house people and came here during restaurant week; typically a bad idea because service is compromised, but we honestly wanted to see if it was worth the hype. Seating was; slow. drink service; slow. first course; slow and only brought on by my asking for the waiter. Very limited restaurant week menu, starter was a beef Barley soup which was good but honestly, for a steak house: lame. Salads were good but completely standard and available anywhere else. Main entrees; both steak dishes were over seasoned, salt and peppered beyond taste. Sent back. Manager sent out Seasoning free, decent tasting and well cooked replacements. Chicken was good, again fairly salty but edible. Deserts were good but note that cheesecake, even with a compelling pistachio crust, was not traditional and that was an unwelcome surprise. Maybe my review should read«don’t come here during restaurant week» Or maybe it is «del frisco’s thinks restaurant week is a joke» but this menu was so limited, so simple and so understated that they should have been able to execute it perfectly. There are other steakhouses in DC that you will easily enjoy. A high end steakhouse dinner should never be a struggle, not even during restaurant week.

Came for restaurant week but we’ll be back. The Lobster Bisque was phenomenal. The wine list is unparalleled. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The deserts were the best ever. The no bake cheese cake was light and fluffy with a hint of nuts for texture. Settle back and have a glass of wine or dirty martini. Michael is the best server in the place. Ask for his table

Well, went there at restaurant week, when I walked in, three receptionists were talking and when I approached them, none of them welcomed me, they saw me and they just looked somewhere else and kept talking… well I admitted I came for restaurant week, but no need to be that Cold… As for the food, I would say it’s just so. so…ordered soup of the day, fillet and banana bread pudding, the soup and fillet were just OK, my friend ordered meatloaf and it is just toooo salty… but the desserts were excellent! I love the banana bread pudding sooooo much! And my friend ordered cheesecake is really good too! So I guess the dessert are the only things that we were both satisfied with~~ might come back for dessert only someday…~

Mediocre. I am sad to say I was forced to pay for that meal. Nothing to write home about. No creativity, sides were the same for all entrée selections. Shame the food wasn’t better. Wait was longer than anticipated, but it was Saturday night. Service was great. Everyone was polished and amendable. Daniel loves his job and it shows in his work. Drinks were great! Kim was great. Oh love the Mac n cheese!

We had an absolutely amazing experience. Although we had a reservation for 730p we were 30 mins late due to the inability to find reasonable parking with all the snow on the ground in DC. I wanted to go to another restaurant but my dinner partner suggested we stay as the they believed we would only have to wait another 30 mins. Well our wait was over an hour but while we were waiting… your staff passed the steak and cheese egg rolls and mini-martinis to a crowd of 15 — 20 people who were also waiting on tables. When the Manager/GM learned that our wait had been over an hour she ordered apps sent to our table as soon as we were seated. The food took a little long coming out and we suspected that it had sat under the heat lamps a little long becuase the food was a little dry and crispy when it arrived but we were having such a good time in your beautiful atmosphere with your attentive and thoughtful staff the it did not mar our experience at all. You also ran out of some of the desserts but it was still a truly amazing night… I don’t think you expected quite the crush for Restaurant Week but you improvised well! We will be back!!!

In search of steak and value during Restaurant Week, my coworkers picked Del Frisco’s in the new City Center for an early dinner after work. We were seated quickly, and were given ample time to review the menus, the very large wine book, and ponder over the many daily specials. The good: The soup of the day was barley and mushroom– which was hot and filling on a cold winter day. The mashed potatoes were nicely seasoned, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The bread pudding was to die for. The outside had a nice crust and the inside was moist and sweet. I would come back just for dessert. The bad: The steaks were coated with a salt and pepper crust, which became a overwhelming. The Caesar salad was a little bitter, and had a lot of cheese on it. I would come back, but probably only for special occasions.

Came here for restaurant week and thought it was going to be worth it, I was wrong. I got the mixed greens salad, and the dressing complimented it well. For my entrée, I enhanced it to a 16 oz prime ribeye. It was juicy and cooked perfectly, but it was just way too salty. The outside was caked in pepper and salt, which made it difficult to finish. Lastly, I got the banana bread pudding which was delicious. Overall, service was great but they need to have less salt on their steaks.

Recently opened in the up and coming City Centre in DC, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House offers up prime steaks and seafood as well as flawless cuisine that is bold and delicious. I came here after work one evening in hopes of scoring a yummy steak dinner with my company and let’s just say I was not disappointed. First off, I loved the dining space, so much going on with the multiple levels and rooms and exquisite wine area with see through windows. A pretty penny was probably spent on making this restaurant look the way it does and it was nothing but pleasing to the eye that adds to the overall atmosphere of the place. Like a lot of upscale steak houses, Del Frisco offered up a few crowd pleasing apps, serious cuts of meat, and tons of seafood catches all with an option to snag some a la carte sides to accompany your taste buds. Here’s what I got: –Caesar salad to start, it was made just the way I like it, creamy, peppercorn-y, had a nice bite to it, and the added homemade croutons were some of the best croutons ever tasted inside the mouth of JP, they were most welcoming. –8 oz filet, because you really can’t go wrong with a filet, right? Mine was cooked perfectly medium, how I asked for it, spiced and buttered just right, «get in my belly!» my eyes said as I blinked 3 more times until it vanished into thin air. –Side of asparagus, I know asparagus… nothing special right? Wrong! These were buttery helpings of vegetable goddess sticks that followed the old adage of «betcha can’t eat just one!» and I surely followed suit. To recap, my initial thoughts was that Del Frisco’s would be an average steak house but they just seemed to do everything right here, even though I ordered what some may call«normal» dishes, they were made exceptionally to my liking and had me feeling satisfied with my choices when all was said and done. Give em a try!

A little stuffy and high end for daily usage unless you are an attorney or self important but the food is really great. My steak salad was perfect even if it might have been a little too heavily dressed. Rolls are ok. Water service is constant.

I usually visit the one in Philadelphia for for their great wine & steaks however this location is a little smaller & more intimate. The dining area has great large windows which overlook the city & the management is very welcoming. The food is delicious be sure to try out the tuna

My family and I went here on Saturday for my grandma’s birthday, and it was a disaster. The restaurant itself is nice looking, with a beautiful bar and good cocktail list. However, the prices of everything is absurd. I started out with a margaritini(don’t judge), and it was $ 17 for this tiny martini. I could’ve bought a bottle of tequila for the same price. Ok, not good tequila but still you get my point. We sat down in the upstairs dining room and were assigned multiple servers for our party of 10. One guy named Daniel who was fantastic, and another guy who wasn’t. The not so great server started taking our appetizer orders, but maybe decided he was bored and went to another table. We were confused because half the people didn’t order, but luckily Daniel did a great job picking up the slack. The appetizers arrived(calamari, wedge salads, raw oysters) and they were good, but nothing innovative or exciting. For dinner many of our table ordered steaks, and I got the sea bass with crab fried rice. This is when things really started going downhill. A few of the steaks came out improperly cooked, and my uncle sent his back to have it cooked more. It came back out on a place that was so hot, the steak was bubbling and fizzing on it. It looked like one of those steaks from an Outback commercial. The plate had grease all over it, and clearly they just put the plate under the salamander and brought it out on the same dish. It seems like a small mistake, but for a $ 60 steak it was ridiculous. I was lucky that my entrée turned out really well, but there was such bad energy after the steak incident. The manager came over, and we thought he was going to apologize, however he decided to argue with my uncle on how the plates are usually that hot. Um no, you could have fried an egg on that plate, and even if serving molten plates that could cause burns was customary, I distinctly remember from my restaurant days that the first rule is NEVER argue with the customer. Once again, Daniel saved the day and brought us out a round of free desserts. Over all, it was not a pleasant experience, and our check turned out to be a couple thousand dollars. I will never be back, and I would highly suggest getting your rib eye fix at BLT instead!

Came here on NYE(with a reservation for as soon as they opened to avoid crowds) to celebrate my little brother’s marriage. They LOVE steak, so a steakhouse is always the first choice when they go out. Beautiful contemporary modern restaurant, great location(near the convention center), and a public parking($ 19) lot literally across the street from it. Reservations are easy, just use open table. The sit-down restaurant is located just a short elevator ride upstairs while a hip young bar spans the main level. The menu is completely al carte, so you pick your steak of choice and then one or two family style sides to share with the table. I highly recommend the 22oz bone-in ribeye($ 59) or their signature cut the double eagle($ 79) because they are cooked to perfection and easily large enough to share with another person. My mom had maybe 4 bites of my steak… she just isn’t a big steak eater. Also a must get is the lobster macaroni and cheese($ 18), which is just heavenly gooey cheesiness with large pieces of lobster throughout, it would have liked more lobster in it but oh well… none of us were that disappointed. The disappointment was the service and overall attitude. :/When we walked in there was only one other table eating by the window and the rest of the dining room was completely empty. They sat us right beside the kitchen door and the hostess stand so I politely asked to be moved down just a little further away from the high traffic area. The lady gave us a huge attitude and said they were not taking table requests because it was NYE… I wasn’t requesting a certain table, just not right beside the fricken kitchen opening… We sat down at 445pm, there were still tables that were vacant when we left around 7pm. Anyways… brushed that off, but then service at the table was lax. For the most part someone was always wandering about with water to keep those glasses filled but when we asked for more bread and my dad’s drink was empty twice… we had to remind them and ask for things. They didn’t even bring a knife both times with the loaf of bread. Now I know this sounds nit-picky, but when the bill is $ 600, table service is expected to be better than Outback Steakhouse. I cant begin to explain how many servers were milling about, doing nothing expect yapping, which is fine, but it was very noticeable considering where we were sitting and that we were not being served properly for the style and price of the restaurant. Overall, not a steakhouse I would recommend when it comes to value for your dollar with the mediocre service and the abundance of other comparable steakhouses in DC. BUT my compliments to the chef, as the steak were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful and then the Buttercake was phenomenal. So if you could get a a steak dinner to go here… lol… do that!

If you enjoy dining with stuffy rich old white people then by all means come here. Normally I wouldn’t care, I like capital grille for instance which has a similar clientele but the 12 oz. filet mignon I ordered here had so much god damn salt that it was barely edible. For the price you’re paying that’s inexcusable. I’d be more forgiving elsewhere but this place bills itself as a swanky steakhouse. Other than that the place is nice but the ambiance is kinda ruined by giant TVs showing football games(really classes up the joint). Wait staff is friendly but seem to put on airs and will explain what medium rare is in case you’re from Mars and haven’t had a steak before. I thought that was borderline offensive so I asked him for ketchup with my steak when he was done talking. No valet as far I could tell but there is a coat check. Edit: I forgot to mention the best part I got sick from eating their garbage steaks and so did my girlfriend. Just go to capital grille or Chimas instead. Edit(again): so after checking with my two other friends who were with us, they were also sick that night.

Cool, dining option at City Center. Swanky and low key. Ambiance is nice, not cozy. Lots of windows to view the landscape of City Center. Most seats line the window and the rest are center of the dining area. Nice bar. I didn’t see if they had a happy hour. It’s a steak house. I went for lunch and not their best steak dinner. I looked at the menu and wasn’t quite impressed. Basic American food. Premium prices for the environs. I had lobster mac and cheese. I figured, it would be done so well, I’d want more. I didn’t. My first experience was at the Grill located on Pennsylvania Avenue. Nice, casual, but lovely. A dinner date with the beau or dinner date with the parents. Hi back, tall booths… I’ll go back to that location for food and ambiance.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee food to the breadth and height Lobster Mac so good it’s out of sight For the big chunks of lobster and ideal flavors. I love thee to the level of every day’s Most gastronomic need, by day and dinner time. I love thee freely, as diners strive for culinary satisfaction. I love thee purely, as the chef and mixologists seek to please. I love thee with the passion put to use In my hunger pangs, and with faith in elevated comfort food. Overall, I love this place. The food is nothing short of incredible and the service is above reproach. I’ve been here only a couple times(a few weeks apart) and on my second visit, the bartender not only remembered me, but remembered my name as well. My Lobster Mac took longer than planned(more than 30 min) due to some miscommunication between the front and back of the house, so they comp’ed it. Though it was so good and the service was so great that I would have gladly paid for it. If you manage to save room for dessert, definitely get the Butter Cake. It’s the best thing on the menu. I don’t even crave desserts, but I dream about that thing all the damn time. So whether you’re stopping by for a quick(and delicious) cocktail or looking for a great date spot, I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

I recently visited Del Frisco for lunch after hearing so much about it on Unilocal,in food blogs, and from friends who personally attested to how good the food is. I had a great experience and loved the service(friendly and efficient), the location(in DC’s new and hip City Center), and the food options(great steak options all around!!) and portions. What I didn’t love was how salty my steak was! I ordered the 12oz Rib Eye steak and a side of lobster mac n cheese. The portion was very generous and I definitely left feeling full and with a «doggy bag» in hand. I did enjoy my steak, but there were 2 issues: 1) it was way too salty to the point I didn’t want to eat more than half(but forced myself anyway) — I think it’s all the crushed salt /pepper they make it with. I do like a little bit of that, but not so much that it masks the taste and makes the food almost unbearable, and 2) I ordered the steak«medium» but it came out more rare. They did ask me if I could cut into my steak and make sure it was cooked to my liking, but I was in a hurry and had to eat it as it was and was a bit disappointed that it was rare rather than medium. I really enjoyed the lobster mac n cheese, though they skimped just a tad on the lobster. The mac n cheese was otherwise perfect, though, and I loved how crispy and crunchy it was. I would definitely give Del Frisco another try. It’s definitely worth a visit and I did love their options, how generous the portions are, and the great service.

I’ve been to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle more times than I can count. However, very often it has been for a special event or with a special connection to the restaurant, so I never really felt comfortable writing a review since I knew my experience may have been slightly catered to. Last night I visited once again, for a private dinner with a leadership group that I’m part of and I was so impressed by the General Manager(Ann) that I just had to hop on here to express my gratitude. Now, I’ve seen Ann in action before at the« Unilocal Goes to Bovine University» event and was impressed then. However, as a Unilocal employee attending another special event here I knew my experience was biased. However, that event alone was extremely impressive from chef, sommelier to staff — I learned so much and enjoyed the passion the the folks here have for their work and work product. That presence was felt once again last night in the private dining room downstairs in the wine cellar, surrounded by great wine and great company. However, this time there was a slight hiccup.(Albeit, my own fault.) At the end of the dinner, I decided to head to one of the two private bathrooms downstairs before leaving and it was there that I left my phone. With my hands full with a clutch and umbrella, I never even noticed the lack of phone presence until I had driven about 5 – 10 minutes up the road. I made a beeline back, only to find that no phone was to be seen anywhere by anyone. Although I tried my best not to visibly freak out, inside I was hyperventilating. My entire job revolves around my phone and emails, so the thought of being without access in the morning meant I’d have to re-work a lot of my schedule. Plus, a brand new phone… just gone? No wild night to blame, no adventurous activity to take an «L» on. This was just going to end up being the most expensive hand washing of all time. It hurt. But what helped me to stay calm was Ann’s take charge, resourceful, solutions oriented, and caring nature. Not once did she shrug it off, nor did anyone else working. They genuinely were looking with me, helping me log into their computer so that I could give«Find My iPhone» a shot and calling my phone over and over again in an effort to track that sucker down to no avail. So I headed to my parent’s house to pick up my dog, saddened and feeling stripped while plotting my next plan. When I had arrived, I felt defeated until my mother told me that someone from the restaurant had called and that a patron had accidentally picked up my phone, called the restaurant to let them know and would be returning it in the morning. Ann emailed the next day as soon as the patron dropped off my phone and gave me a big ol’ hug when I came to pick it up later that evening. I was honestly so grateful that she was so personally invested in Del Frisco’s customers. So, yes — this review is dominantly about service, but in my opinion it’s one of the most important pieces of what develops my loyalty to a business and brand. I can say confidently that this location is passionate about not only their food and beverage, but their customer’s satisfaction as well. And yes, the food and atmosphere is fantastic as well!

For starters, I must just say, WOW!!! I have visited Del Frisco’s Double Eagle twice now, and believe it is MORE than worthy of a GLOWING review! The first experience was for dinner in celebration of my birthday. The restaurant is very modern with a trendy and hip décor. Loved the colors, even in the Ladies room! The service was absolutely phenomenal! I ordered an amazing cocktail, the VIP martini, which is a perfect blend of vodka and fresh Hawaiian pineapple juice — did I say AMAZING?! The FOOD was delicious!!! I ordered the Filet(cooked to PERFECTION and PERFECTLY seasoned!!!) along with Brussels Sprouts and Lobster Macaroni and cheese… my mouth is watering just writing this review! When is my next visit there? I think next week! Oops I digress… Needless to say, I was VERY happy that Del Frisco’s Double Eagle was my go place for one of my birthday celebration dinners. Finally, I was surprised with the lemon cake with a candle in it from the staff! The candle and presentation was nice, but the actual LEMONCAKEWASTODIEFOR!!! WHEW! On to the next time I dined at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle… I met a girlfriend and ate at the bar. Our bartender/server was very attentive and catered to our every whim! I order the VIP martini again(of course… not sure how anyone could order any other cocktail!) and it was as amazing as I remembered it! My girlfriend and I both ordered the short ribs… All I can say is HEAVEN!!! These were the BEST short ribs I have ever had!!! This dish is the BEST kept SECRET(which is now out lol) on the menu! I mean… this is a lovely steakhouse with an impressive menu, however, I don’t know that I will ever order another steak from there! Whew! I don’t even remember what sides we shared! THOSESHORTRIBSWEREINSANE! We polished everything off with the butter cake… can you say another piece of HEAVEN? YUM!!! I will be going back in 2 weeks! I cannot get enough of this place! That is all :-)
