Note New Address, and Note this is now in NE now NW. This is a brilliant, trendy, vibrant, cutting-edge modern art gallery on the fringes of the H Street area. We came here recently to see their Cosmopolitan Chicken Exhibition, where a suitably obsessed and crazy Belgian artist had put a lot of chicken themed pieces together, and had even gone so far as to breed his own chickens and stick them in the art gallery. ” Daddy,” said Soccerballgirl when we left«That was not a show — that was just some chickens in a cage» «Dad» said Thing 1 «did you see that picture of an exploding chicken — it was paint, and blood, and dirt, and eggshell and sand and chicken crap all mixed uptogether and it was awesome» ” I’m hungry«said Thing 2 «Can we go and have lunch now?» Lovely gallery, great exhibit and a great spot to check out if you are in H-street.

As you should be able to guess from the name, don’t expect any classic artists here like Monet or Van Gogh. At Conner, if you are into modern art, you’re in luck. However, if only the old classics turn you on. this isn’t the gallery for you. All different kinds of media are featured here, depending on the artist the gallery is showing at the time. Usually photography and paper, but there is also other media presented as well. Take, for example, Leo Villareal. His light installation will be here until December 22nd. On the local tip, Conner has an annual exhibit called Academy. It is a yearly exhibit that features works from DC and Baltimore area college art programs.
