Very good«build your own» ice cream sandwiches! They put a very generous amount of ice cream on the sandwich so I recommend getting one to share, especially if you are coming here for dessert.

My friends and I were biking around National Mall at night and we wanted some dessert, so we checked our handy Unilocal app and found that this place was open late night. We biked a few blocks passing up George Washington University and eventually made our way to this shop. We actually entered through the shopping area but there is an entrance on the corner of Penn. And if you’re using one of those public city bikes, there are stations around to check in and check out. The shop itself is cute and friendly folks working there. So obviously they sell cookies and milk but they also do serve ice cream and soda. The popular ice cream sandwich is what most of us got in addition to extra cookies to munch on. The cookies itself aren’t not huge but definitely bigger than your normal packaged cookies you get at the grocery stores. Overall, the cookies were good. Eating the ice cream sandwiches can be difficult but it’s delicious so eat up. I’m a simple gal so I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies, they weren’t too chewy or too hard, just right. There are some seats on the second floor but not enough for a crowd, so my friends and I found some benches in the shopping area and hung out there. I was pleased to know there was a dessert place open late in the area.

My 1st time having Captain Cookie was off of the food truck at my old internship in Navy Yard about 2 hot summers ago. I was so thrilled to see a cookie truck because I love fresh homemade cookies and milk! Captain Cookie definitely did not disappoint. It was better than I could imagine. I remember ordering their cookie sandwich(black cherry ice cream with 2 ginger molasses). So of course when I heard of the opening of a store front location I was eager to go! My friend and I tried to come about 2 weeks ago but I wasn’t aware of the holiday hours and we came after they closed. So I tried again last Sunday evening and fortunately came when they were open. The staff is so friendly and I love the pop art logos inside and outside of the store. It’s definitely eye catching. Their prices are super reasonable for as much as you get. I ordered a cookie sandwich(top cookie-peanut butter; bottom cookie-ginger molasses; ice cream-egg nog). This ish slapped! I was in heaven I swear to you. LOL I will definitely make another visit soon. Thanks CAPTAINCOOKIE!

Super cheap and the ice cream is delicious! Really worth it in my humble opinion. You can get an ice cream sandwich which they create for you right in the store where they just take two cookies and have a huge scoop of ice cream in the middle.

C is for cookie, that’s good enough for me! The personal anthem of Cookie Monster should be the anthem of Captain Cookie and the Milkman too. Captain Cookie was initially just a food truck but they also opened up a brick and mortar shop on Pennsylvania to cater to all cookie lovers. You can catch the food truck via Twitter. Captain Cookie offers 8 kinds of cookies: chocolate, snickerdoodle, nutella, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, ginger molasses, vegan chocolate chip, and funfetti. They also sell local ice cream($ 2/scoop), milk($ 2), milkshakes($ 4), and house brewed sodas($ 2). Best of all, they also offer ice cream sandwiches or chipwiches($ 4)! You order two cookies and an ice cream flavor of your choice to make one delicious, sugar-inducing-coma ice cream sandwich. What could be better? It reminded me of Diddy Riese out in L.A. Late hours for all the GW students who get the munchies. The shop itself is inside the Shops at 2000 Penn and is the first one on the right.

Hot damn. I work far, far too close to this delicious bakery. Popular with all people, Captain Cookie is a fan favorite for GWU Students. All of the flavors I’ve tried so far have been out of this world, but I hear the Nutella Cookie is where it’s at! Cookie ice cream sandwiches are my absolute favorite and while I haven’t had one from CC yet, I definitely will. My office ordered a huge chocolate chip cookie pizza and it was so incredibly tasty. This is a great local spot to get your sweet fix

We were looking for something sweet nearby and came across captain cookie & the milk man. With a name like that it just HAS to be good. Am I right? We were welcomed by the sweet sweet smell of freshly baked cookies and our mouths were watering from there. They have fresh cookies and housemade ice cream… Hmmm what would happen if you combined the two? A $ 4 ice cream cookie sandwich DUH. This is the only way to go here. Pick two cookies,(they can be different!) & an ice cream flavor to sandwich in between. It’s a LOT, so I had to use a spoon and kinda ate layer by layer — but somehow the bf ate the whole thing sandwich style which was impressive. They even offer individual sized milks here because, what’s cookies without milk? Awesome place, and I hear a captain cookie food truck floats around dc during the day too! Catch it if you can, you won’t regret it.

The truth? I know a whole lot of truth chile and one truth is the ice cream sammies at Captain Cookie & The Milk Man = CAPTAINCOOKIEANDTHEMILKMANISDATRUTH! Yum. Late night munchies were on the attack and had faintly recalled seeing Victoria B. check-in and glorify the cookies. Advisor was stressing me out, I was tired, but didn’t feel like cooking… so many variants to validate my reasoning for arriving at Captain Cookie & The Milk Man at 11p on a Wednesday. Fresh, warm cookies(I used to have a running joke that went something like, «Are your cookies fresh?» — I digress). Fresh, warm chocolate Chip cookies… this changes the game. Fresh, warm cookies with ice cream(you see where I’m going with this??). Fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies with ice cream between them, or served with farm fresh milk. Eaten up stairs, or in your car while the music blast as you try to escape the noise from your terrible, horrible, no good very bad day. I thought I would run into a bunch of middle aged women when I walked in. Low and behold, young college women are majority of the population… eating up all the cookies. Fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies. Taken in fours with ice cream on the side. I waited 10 minutes for chocolate chip cookies tonight. 10MINUTES(Yea I was feeling some kind of way. So what) Black cherry ice cream between two fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies. I almost hurt myself(ain’t that what the old folks say?) eating that thing. Beasted through it like a champ… walked to my car feeling like a winner… and THIS my friends IS the truth. $ 4 for a ice cream sammie. Rotating ice cream flavors and a cookie of the day. YES. And YES. If you haven’t tried it, don’t worry about it. As a matter of fact, disregard this review. I don’t want you in line trying to eat up all the cookies(and if you didn’t recognize the context of that statement, it was shade. You’re welcome).

I was absolutely drunk eating last night but regardless, I’d still give 5 stars! It’s really hard to not make a delicious ice cream sandwich when you combine fresh baked cookies and fresh ice cream! As soon as I saw Nutella cookie I was sold– I was curious about the basic chocolate chip too so I got both. Ice cream… two flavors jumped out at me– chocolate(can’t go wrong there) and salted caramel. They had others but my memory is a bit foggy after visiting Blue Jacket prior to this. i had some disappointing salted caramel experiences as of late so I chose to stick with the tried and true. I think it was $ 4(or thereabouts) and was massive in size. The BF had a chocolate shake(think it was $ 5) –he liked it; I thought it was ok, not as good as the ice cream sandwich. Line moved quickly, friendly employees, open til 2am weekends, and close to Foggy Bottom/GWU metro– good call for dessert any day!

Bakers dozen for $ 13; that’s $ 1/cookie, and the cookies are decently sized. Such a good deal and good variety, considering that some cookie specialty places can cost as much as an average cupcake. Their chocolate chip cookie is good — thin, and crunchy on the edges. Yummy. I was very excited to try their nutella cookie because nutella is super tasty, but that cookie was a bit disappointing because it didn’t taste like nutella at all! It had good texture, but it tasted a little like burnt chocolate… no hazelnut hint or anything. Oh well. My coworkers loved the peanut butter cookie, as it was soft centered, rich in flavor. Their ginger cookie tastes just like ginger snaps, but with a soft texture. My kids enjoyed the look of their funfetti cookie, which sadly is a bit prettier than it tastes… not too bad though. Their sugar cookie is standard. I also tried their pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, which was puffy and very soft. Good if you like pumpkin and chocolate chips! In terms of taste alone, 3 stars, but design and prices, 5 stars for sure. Definitely beats $ 3-$ 4 cookies from some places in Beverly Hills!

$ 1.25 a cookie. Open late. Nutella one is a little lacking in flavor but they’re vegan chocolate chip is money! It’s got a lot of oil in it, but it makes it even richer than cookie batter with butter in it. I also think the chocolate chips have a more pronounced taste in the vegan cookie. It’s served warm and melts in your mouth. I nearly bought another one right after. That’s dangerous! Dangerously delicious *eyeroll* #dadjokefail

Late night sweet tooth on a Friday night, cold & rainy and the search was on for ice cream. Haha! Okay, the challenge was finding a quiet place, open late. Found this place on Unilocal and it’s open until 2am. Awesome. Located inside a mall by the CVS. Simple set-up. Pick a cookie or pick an ice cream or combine the two. Me? Snicker doodle cookies & vanilla ice cream Hubby? Peanut butter cookies & chocolate ice cream Delicious. The cookies were way better than I expected. They serve in plastic containers with plastic spoons; didn’t like that cuz the spoons couldn’t cut through cookie. Service was friendly and they have a frequent cookie club. They have a small seating area upstairs, but it’s tight. Most people there were on dates. Plus, most looked around college age. Great late night sweet tooth find.

What’s better than warm, freshly baked delicious cookies? Warm, freshly baked delicious cookies in ice-cream sandwich form with the option for indecisive people like myself to choose a top AND bottom cookie flavor. But wait, there’s more… its open late too!(2am on fri/sat and 12am on every other day) Captain Cookie and the milkman are here to save the day for anyone who has that big, and sometimes nagging sweet tooth(guilty right here). If you’re not in the mood for an ice-cream sandwich, they have milkshakes and 5 different milk choices to choose from to accompany your fresh out the oven cookie. That’s right, they even offer chocolate milk and soy milk! Cookies are $ 1.25 each, and ice-cream sandwiches are $ 4 with the option of vanilla, chocolate or black cherry ice-cream. Guess where this girl is gonna be when that nagging sweet tooth rears its ugly head again? I don’t know what they’re putting in that cookie batter, but the cookies are so good that I am hooked.

Cookies + ice cream. What’s not to love? This cute little shop in foggy bottom is a sure hit for your sweet tooth. Prices are extremely reasonable, oh, and the cookies are delicious! They offer warm cookies(you pick the flavor) with ice cream in the middle! So finger licking good, the ice cream gets a little melty :) Hours are great, and the food truck is just as cute! The cookies are actually really really good, I’m a sucker for peanut butter anything. Bakers dozen is $ 13 if you ever need something quick and easy to bring to an event, although I highly suggest going in for the ice cream! Decent amount of seating for this little space. Upstairs and a downstairs. You can see the baking racks so you know your treats are fresh!

They had run out of chocolate chip, and their cookie of the day, which was a bummer. I went with snickerdoodle. It was fine, until I saw a white lump that I thought was a random white chocolate chip or something… um, no. It was a lump of cream of tartar that had not been mixed in properly. It was disgusting and I had to spit it out. 2 cookies plus milk for $ 4. Not bad. Please mix your dough a little better, Captain.

Diabetes doesn’t seem so bad when you’re acquiring it at Captain Cookie and the Milkman. It absolutely is as delicious as you would imagine cookies and ice cream to be. Presumably Captain Cookie is responsible for making the cookies, and I approve of his work. My wife(a total glutton) and I had a total of 4 cookies between us in the 2 ice cream cookie sandwiches we gobbled up. We consumed approximately 3948% of our total daily sugar intake in eating the snickerdoodle, Nutella, ginger molasses and oatmeal cookies. I also assume that the Milkman is responsible for making the ice cream. He also does good work. We added to our daily diabetes tally with another 980 grams of sugar per serving of ice cream, and ate the vanilla and salted caramel ice creams. For less than $ 5 per ice cream sandwich, this was one of the better deals in DC, especially on a sweltering summer day. Plus, the location in 2000 Penn Ave is inside of an office building, so the AC helps double up the awesomeness of the ice cream. P. S. What the fuck is Elly C.(6÷17÷2015) saying when she says«this place is bae»? I’m not sure you have a sufficient grasp of to be able to use that term correctly. Please stop embarassing yourself.

Don’t go to this store if you like cookies and do not have control to not give in to temptation! This is a small little place selling the absolutely best cookies :) I went in for a few cookies and came away with a dozen or so cookies — and most of the cookies were perfect :) The only disappointment was the Nutella — did not quite meet my expectations of the perfect Nutella flavor. I have been back a few times since my initial trip and have been happy with my purchase. This definitely is my go to spot for cookies :)

I love that they now have a location in Foggy Bottom as I never had an opportunity to make it to the food truck. I’ve been twice now since they opened and you can smell the delicious cookies as you’re approaching the entrance. The cookies are soft and taste homemade. The first time I got a Nutella cookie and sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles. The second time I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and got the St. Patrick’s Day whoopee pie that had chocolate guinness cookies with a Bailey’s cream center. While the whoopee pie was good, I like the cookies a lot better. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing and I am a fan of the rainbow sprinkled sugar cookie as well, and how can you go wrong with Nutella either? So tasty!
