This is the spot — if you need a nice relaxing superb dinner this place knocks it out the park — I had their blackened salmon special — I loved every bite — sent compliments to the chef and he came out — Chef Jared and all the others — amazing — the service is impeccable — I am just in town for a day but I know if I lived close this would be a regular spot for me — I don’t know much about wines no problem Jackie and Mike that helped me — listened to what I like and brought me exactly what would quench my taste buds. Magnifeco! Dessert — was yummy now I am ready to relax in my room — Thank you Café Deluxe for making my 1st meal in DC the best

I received a reply to my review from the District Manager asking me to contact her as she would like to put things right. 5 out of 5. I replied to her email in October 2015 but that was as far as it went. No further contact from her some 2 months later. 0 out of 5.

The food is decent enough. Basic food, nothing special. My biggest complaint is that when the waiter first delivered coffee, one of the mugs was dirty. This could just be us though.

Stayed at the Hilton garden and decided not to venture out too far with the kids for dinner. Read some not so great reviews so was a bit weary. Our server mike was amazing. He was so accommodating and made sure we were happy. This is not easy with three young girls. My husband got a draft beer and I ordered the blue lemonade which I heard was great. Which it was. Then We ordered the veggie burger which I thought was great(very spicy!), the Greek salad which was as expected, and the girls ordered chicken fingers and fries which they loved(can’t go wrong with that) We had a nice time and it definitely felt family oriented. They gave the girls coloring pages and crayons on our arrival. all in all– would recommend for a nice night with the family– especially if mike is your server!!!

This place was conjoined to the hotel I was staying at near the Georgetown and Foggy Bottom sections of D.C. We came for breakfast two consecutive days. I had a good first experience and that led to the second. The first meal was French Toast encrusted with corn flakes on it. Really delicious. The next morning I had a build-your-own omelette, which was also really good. It was loaded with mushrooms, onions and red peppers. I also like that the Rye toast was like homemade, or thick-cut bread, vs. the grocery store bread. It was a great way to start the day as we navigated the city’s sights. I would highly recommend stopping in for breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner. I noticed at night, the crowd appears to be hotel guests interspersed with local professionals and college students from GW and Georgetown.

Very happy with my family’s experience here. Everyone found something they liked on the menu and everything tasted great.

I had loaf meat with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The meat was lacking something in my idea, just that it was not tasting great. But overall we were happy, considering that this place was among the few open restaurants on the Christmas day!

Oh Dear, Café Deluxe. What a mess this past weekend. Late afternoon and basically empty restaurant seemed perfect for an early dinner and holiday toast. Water right away and then 15 minutes to deliver drink order. Placed food order, got perfectly raw turkey burger. Get up because we had to track down someone to help. Hostess offered to give us free dessert. Another 15 minute for replacement. The new one was cooked and delivered by the chef, and he offered to take it off the check. Meanwhile, friend’s meal becomes ice cold. We decide it’s time to end what is not a fun meal. Up again to track down someone to get us check. Check comes with full tab. And we are up again to find someone. We are now fully exasperated. Repeat: Fully. Exasperated. After expressing said exasperation, hostess decides to not charge us for anything. So in the end, a point for doing the right thing by two longgggg time customers. But –4 for not having act together. Farewell West End location — not worthy of this local groups reputation. More like Café Disgust.

Had our office luncheon here and we ordered Grilled Chicken Quesadilla, Apple Brie Flatbread, Prosciutto Flatbread, Lamb Sandwich and Ah! Tuna Tacos. Ok here is what we think: 1. Grilled Chicken Quesadilla — not enough chicken and there was no cheese 2. Apple Brie Flatbread: 2 walnuts and 4 slices of apple 3. Prosciutto Flatbread: Good 4. Lamb Sandwich: — Delicious 5. Tuna Tacos: Tuna dry Next time I try the Mussels. I have had their crab dip and that dish is very good. Food was slow in coming out of the kitchen. My lunch mate had to wait for her Prosciutto Flatbread, while we ate our food. Nice atmosphere. .

After a light dinner at Sweetgreen which is across the street from Café Deluxe, we decided to have some after dinner drinks and dessert. We had some martini’s served by Derwin. He was both friendly and attentive. It’s a full bar so you can order anything. We had the Cobbler of the Day, a baked peach cobbler with a biscuit crust served with vanilla ice cream. Wow, described as small, it was a fantastic dessert and definitely not small. There was a television over the bar so we could watch the baseball game. Definitely a great place to stop for drinks and dessert. Outdoor seating was an option too.

Café deluxe is a nice place to grab a drink or food it’s right on the corner so it’s pretty easy to spot. They have outdoor his walls indoor seating. We sat outside and it was very nice. Most of the people that were sitting outside with us looked as though they were coming back from work and just grabbing a quick beer with coworkers. Our waiter was very nice. We started with the crab dip and chips which was pretty good. I ended up just getting to Stella Artois’s. A couple other people I was with they had vodka tonics. The atmosphere was really nice the price was not crazy for the amount of drinks that we had. It seem like everybody else was having a good time and I noticed there were a lot of people eating. Have a feeling that this is a very popular place for commuters to stop at on their way back home from work. Overall this is a very nice place to grab a drink I would definitely consider coming back to this place and I’m in Washington DC next time.

I love Café Deluxe. The service has gotten a lot better from when they first opened, when my waiter would just hover at my table. They are attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere is fantastic, it is not super dark and loud like so many places I have been to in DC but has nice lighting and allows guests the opportunity to talk and enjoy their meal rather than shout. The food is wonderful, my favorite thing on the menu is the roasted chicken and mashed potatoes. It is comfort food at its best!

Generally, I do not eat at hotel restaurants. But when you are not feeling well enough to venture outdoors or the weather sucks the are a safe haven. The Deluxe offers the classic dishes you find everywhere in the golden triangle and they taste good. No surprises, just comfort. Tip: Great working lunch location. Not busy, large tables, wifi and central location.

I had lunch at Café Deluxe on a Tuesday. It wasn’t that busy and my service was incredibly fast and efficient. There were table tents on all the tables advertising ½ burgers on Wednesday, so I went back the next day. Whoa! Apparently ½ burger day is a hit :) I had to sit at the bar on Wednesday because the whole restaurant, including the outdoor tables were packed! It was worth it though. Both times I ordered the Austin Veggie burger. It was so incredibly tasty! I would love to have a Café Deluxe in Lou, so I could take advantage of ½ price Austin Veggie burgers regularly! The bun had cheddar and jalapeño baked into it. Say what? That is genius! And the actual burger was cooked well without being crunchy or mushy(hard to find that in a veggie burger). The sauce was really spicy, but I love spicy so it made me happy! The prices were $ 14-$ 20 on Tuesday. On Wednesday I got that glorious Austin Veggie burger for a mere $ 7 bucks. That’s how you pack a restaurant and get repeat customers. Great job Café Deluxe! Also my service on Wednesday, at the bar, was wonderful.

After a terribly long, rain-soaked drive from upstate NY, all I wanted was comfort food. This place was right across from my hotel, which was perfect because it was still storming. While I was disappointed their risotto appetizer was made with chicken broth(my pet peeve of many restaurants) their was a chicken and pasta dish that they made for me without the chicken. You could see the server was a little unsure when I said I was vegan and asked if they could do the pasta with just veggies and to make sure no butter was used in the white wine sauce. But whoever the chef was that made it, they did a delicious job! It was perfect.

Read my review for the adjoining Hilton Garden Inn. Basically we were given free breakfast vouchers that were later not accepted. Don’t give me vouchers you’re not going to accept. The restaurant manager was a dud and kept repeating his original remark that we were issued too many vouchers. Did not budge, or try to understand and listen like any manager in a customer-oriented business should. Like isn’t that customer service 101? This miscommunication issue was clearly between the restaurant and hotel, but I had to pay for it. They literally ganged up on my friends and I. The selection had very few vegetarian options, and even fewer vegan ones. When we asked the server for recommendations she seemed like I was the first person to ever ask that. I’m pretty sure I’m not the first vegetarian person to ever come in here. Everyone’s food was pretty meh. I got the grilled cheese. Eh.

Café Deluxe is the Hot looking woman that is all looks and no brains nor any personality(not that there is anything wrong with that… we all can appreciate it for what it is). Café Deluxe is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely setting, lovely bar(plenty of televisions with sports, lovely light levels due to the ceiling to wall glass windows… but that is where it ends my friends). The folks at the front are pretty nice and pleasant… but the waiters are pretty useless. No silverware… even asking several times(I just love going to another table and taking the napkins and utensils… dont you?). The service is pretty slow and indifferent. The food is also just okay beignets were pretty good but they were somewhat cold and not really light and fluffy. The eggs were industrial quality, the salad pretty standard fair, The loxs and cream cheese were meh… the portion of cream cheese was a tiny joke. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for brunch it is okay… nothing more.

I have been here twice and had a pretty good experience both times. The food is just okay but the service is spot-on. My server for lunch ensured that me and my boss were able to get back to office in plenty of time for our meeting. And my bartender(another night) made the most delicious margaritas I have ever had. He then made my friend a special drink that was extremely tasty. The atmosphere is extremely inviting, and I love how they open up the giant door-sized windows on beautiful days. I would probably be back for drinks and appetizers but I think there is definitely better food options in the area.

Café Deluxe is absolutely perfect for those with smaller appetites. This new American comfort food restaurant offers a delicious side-dish selction including my favorite… garlic spinach, mac & cheese, sweet potato fries, sauteed asparagus, and a few more options as well. You can either order one side dish for the reasonable price of around $ 4 each, OR you can do what my table did, and order a «plate of any four sides» for $ 13.95. This is a excellent way to taste four dishes for the price of one. As for the cocktails, I HIGHLY recommend their Blue Lemonade. I guess the category for this drink is slightly more toward the«girlie» side, since you can barely taste the alchohol(which I love; i’m not exactly a whiskey shooter here.) This drink is recognizable by it’s purplish-blue color which comes from a freshly made blueberry syrup, and apparently the lemon vodka used in the drink is house infused. It is a sweet and unique cocktail that I’m sure I’ll have again. The service was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress was friendly, offered useful insight while we were reviewing the menu, and was ONHERGAME in every regard. Bottom line: Try the Blue Lemonade.
