A beautiful entry into some hidden treasures.(see Heather H.‘s list!) It doesn’t feel like DC or Georgetown, it definitely has a vibe of it’s own! I love the décor in the entry/alleyway to this great neighborhood gem!

This is a quaint little alley on the outside, filled with overpriced(to me, anyway) — but fascinating — design stores of all types inside. Clothes, jewelry, furniture, lighting, etc., it’s all here in nice red brick and glass buildings. It’s a nice place to wander through. .. particularly if you’re ready for dessert and can stop at Leopold’s Kafe!

Cady’s Alley is a nice little cobblestone alley near Georgetown’s Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. They have a few interior design shops there with expensive furnishings. Finish your stroll by dining at Leopold’s Kafe! There’s also a bicyle rental shop here.

Looking for inspiration on a rainy Sunday in Georgetown? Longing to fantasize about your dream kitchen — the one you’d design if you won the lottery? Or try on a pair of $ 295 flip flops? Look no further than Cady’s Alley! Even my most fashion-forward friend(who was visiting from NYC) was impressed. «I don’t even feel like I’m in DC,» she said, without any hint of irony, as we browsed. Cady’s Alley has the usual high-end home furnishings suspects as well as apparel and jewelery stores like Relish and Jewelers’ Werk Galerie.

Filling my new home has been fun but also overwhelming at times. This is a great area to check out furnishings, either to purchase or even just for ideas when you’re in a design rut. Heather H already put together a great list of stores, so I’ll just credit her and re-paste here: Ann Sacks Artefacto Baker Furniture Bulthaup Collectibles Gallery Contemporaria Design within Reach Gore Dean Illuminations, Inc.
