Unfortunately, I just learned that Bergami’s has CLOSED. Something about financial issues. That’s too bad because I really liked the made-to-order salads. Now, I’m sorry that I never got around to ordering a pizza.

banging pizza. very good stuff. Just give delivery like an hour at least. We tried twice and made the mistake of ordering when very hungry… They only had 2 drivers was the story once and there was no story the other time. The pizza was worth the wait though. Maybe try calling in and picking up to get it quicker?

I reserved judgement, and it turns out that was a good thing. I first went in Bergami’s about 2 weeks after they opened, and the service was uneven, to put it kindly. But I’ve since been in a couple more times and things went much more smoothly. The white pizza is not worth your time(seriously, put some sauce on that thing or it will be SOOOOOOO bland), but everything else I’ve had is good: regular crust, whole wheat, various toppings, and various salads. The star of the show is adding basil and balsamic glaze to just about anything. But the real winner here is their DELIVERY. Consistently 21 minutes to arrive at my house about a half-mile away, hot and fresh, with a friendly attitude. In a city where it’s taken me almost an hour to get a salad delivered and some delivery drivers will park half a block away and then insist that you come to their car, that’s a massive win. Sure, &Pizza is better, but they don’t deliver!

I’m writing this review as a person who is exactly 0.9 miles from Bergami’s right now. Bergami’s delivers. Therefore I should be reviewing their pizza. Instead, I’m giving them one star because first of all, somehow the house I’m at is out of their delivery range despite being only 0.9 miles away. Either be a delivery place or don’t. If you can’t bother to go a mile, then you don’t deliver. Second of all, when I questioned whether we were truly out of their range(maybe they heard Northeast instead of Northwest?), I was hung up on. Those are the only two things I have to go off of for my review, so here we are.

Ummm, I got delivery. It was too cold and rainy for me to trek the mile or so… so I figured why not! Welllllllll it took an hour for my pizza to arrive. I can’t rate the pizza I ordered because I got the wrong order. But I was too hungry to call and wait on a new one. Thank Baby Jesus I’m not allergic to anything. The pizza I did get was too saucy for my liking… but then again it wasn’t what I ordered. I may give it another go just to see how they stack up to &Pizza. Soooooo 3-stars for now, until they prove me wrong.

In my past reviews for pizza places, I have used the terms, «best pizza» and«my favorite this» and«my favorite that.» Well, after going to Bergami’s back when they first opened for business, I can easily say that they are and have been my favorite pizza spot. Bergami’s is located in a very fast up and coming area of Northeast DC, the Rhode Island Ave, NE corridor. The restaurant is located on «Washington Place» inside of the lovely new Rhode Island Row Shopping Center. Parking in front of the restaurant can be a little difficult to find. But there is a parking garage close by and a huge parking lot near the TD Bank that people can use. Nevertheless, is very convenient for me since I «work» in the surrounding area. Now on to the food. This is about as perfect a pizza spot that you will find in terms of pizza choices and toppings. No matter what type of crust or toppings you like, Bergami’s has it all. Whether you like traditional crust(like I do), or gluten-free crust, you will be happy with the choices. As far as the toppings, Bergami’s have just about every type of pizza topping under the sun. When I buy pizza, I like to have a ton of meat-related toppings on mine. Bergami’s satisfies me greatly in that department. The great part is that you get to watch them make your pizza from scratch. Basically, you can create your own pizza, or you can get one of the signature pizzas. No matter the choice, your taste buds will thank you. At the risk of being simple and not going into a deep and informative explanation to explain myself, the pizza is absolutely great. Every time I bite into a slice of Bergami’s pizza, I automatically get the satisfaction as if I just bit into the world’s greatest tasting pizza. It might be the soft and crispy crust. It may be the fresh toppings(mostly meat in my case). It may be the cheese, that is perfectly melted into the pizza just how cheese is supposed to be and not burnt or runny. Or it may be a combination of all three. Whatever it is, Bergami’s pizzas will no doubt be one of the best tasting, if not the best, pizza you will ever have. Out of all of the people, mainly my coworkers, that I have told about Bergami’s pizza, ALLOFTHEM absolutely love the pizza there. One thing that I cannot fail to mention, I love the balsamic glaze topping/spread. I guarantee that you’ll love that or the other spread toppings on your pizza after it is cooked. This truly makes the pizza out of this world great. I cannot finish my review of this great place without mentioning the manager. He is easily one of the most customer-friendly managers in the land. Even while he is hard at work, he will«shoot the breeze» with you. He and the staff are very pleasant to deal with. Not to repeat myself, but Bergami’s is my absolute favorite pizza spot nowadays. I can guarantee that it may be yours too if you stop by here and sink your teeth into one of their great tasting pizzas.

Never been to this type of pizzeria. I walked in ordered and voilà. .In couple minutes my pizza was done. I love it that they have a gluten free dough, olive oil and garlic base and what I liked the most was the price was half of what u normally pay at a place like California pizza or one of those places. It’s definitely a whole 5 star experience, place was open welcoming friendly atmosphere. Fast service. Thanks for the pizza, !! Coffee was great too. :) oh and they have a salad bar, full of yummy stuff Most restaurants I’ve been to have a small restroom. They have 2 spacious clean restrooms! I can keep going on and on about the good stuff. anyway I highly recommend this place.

I was very excited to try their pizza after finding out they offered a low carb cauliflower crust. The crust was firm enough to pick up but the texture took some getting used to. With the sauce and toppings, my pizza tasted very plain. I also asked for extra cheese but that didn’t happen. Perhaps my pizza would’ve tastes better if I had traditional crust but I doubt it. If you must eat pizza here, it will do but I suggest taking a little drive over to the other spots with the same setup(don’t want to name them here).

It’s not bad. Ingredients are ways fresh. Customer service is adequate. Delivery is fast. Subtracting one star for their salty salads and soggy cauliflower pizza. Otherwise, it’s good pizza and rivals Menomale at half the cost.

I work near Bergami’s so it’s great having a wonderful pizza spot like this! Other pizza doesn’t taste the same anymore since I’ve had the plum tomato sauce! Mark, owner, and Paul, Gen Mgr, are very nice and welcoming. The staff always treats me kind.

DELICIOUSPIZZA and extremely easy to access with the location(a few steps off the Rhode Island Metro on the red line). 3 kinds of crust(Traditional /Whole Wheat /Gluten Free Cauliflower) I’ve only tried the first two. You CANNOT beat the price $ 6.50 for a 1 topping personal pizza and you aren’t sacrificing quality at all for the lower price. Very friendly staff. By the way, if you are looking for a great brunch idea on the weekend and don’t want to spend $ 20+ per person… two words: BREAKFASTPIZZA.(I put a picture of it in their photo gallery).

This place was soooo good. My friend and I wanted to have a lazy Friday and we didn’t want to go get food but we were starving. We luckily found this place and they delivered the most delicious pizza for an awesome price. I think I have found my new go to pizza spot. I ordered a traditional crust with spicy marinara sauce, chicken, pepperoni, and crushed red peppers. It was so bomb!

Walking in door I was greeted by the GM Paul. What a nice guy. Very friendly and very pleasant to talk to. Treats you as a person not just an order. Hard to find places that treat you like an individual anymore. They get 5 stars just for that. Not easy to find places to eat under $ 10 anymore. I was able to get the pizza the exact way I like. I even ate in which I rarely do because I’m always on the go. Atmosphere was nice and enjoyable. Free refills and a TV what else can you ask for? I will be back tomorrow to try the salads that my friend eats all the time.

Meh pizza with a great staff. My fiancé and I were thrilled when we saw that there was a place that served cauliflower crust pizza. Since we’ve mostly given up grains(nixing most gluten free options), we were so pleased to see an option to get cauliflower pizza that did not entail us having to make it. Unfortunately, this pizza fell quite short. We ordered two cauliflower pizzas– they only had one ready, and the second one took about another 15 – 20 min. to be ready. We were fine with it, especially because the staff was apologetic and quite polite about the whole thing. The first pizza we got was a white pizza with mushrooms, spinach and two types of mozzarella. The cauliflower crust did not stand up well at all. I think the problem was that they only use cauliflower in their crust– you need to have some sort of sticking agent like egg or cheese to hold it together. The cauliflower, as a result, ended up burnt and a little difficult to eat. The toppings also were of average quality. Compared to the offerings at &pizza(as others have mentioned), those at Bergami’s didn’t quite match up. The second pizza was a spicy chipotle pizza. Let me tell you– their chipotle sauce is no joke! My fiancé– spice lover extraordinaire– had to stop eating it. It was so spicy that my nose started watering(instead of sweating down my head like most people do). We couldn’t finish the pizza. it was just too spicy. We tried to eat around it, but nothing worked. Overall, the staff were lovely, the location was a bit bizarre and seemed more commercial than what you’d read on the website. Unfortunately, we probably won’t be going back.

Friendly service. Pizza just like & Pizza– personal pies with lots of topping options. I had a breakfast pie which was pretty good. Eggs, bacon, sausage and a bunch of veggies. Prices are great.

By far the best pizza I have ever had with the freshest toppings! There are so many topping options to choose from. My first visit I was somewhat overwhelmed by all of my choices, but the manager and staff were really nice and helped me choose the perfect combination! l

Living nearby, I’ve been waiting for some restaurants with character to move into Rhode Island Row with all the chains. When I walked into Bergamis for the first time I was warmly greeted by Paul, the General Manager, and given the back story to the restaurant. I was intrigued and asked several questions about the menu including curiosity about the cauliflower dough intended for people who want a healthier or no wheat substitute. Since I wasn’t looking for that I stuck to the standard dough but thought it was a cool option. All of my questions were answered enthusiastically and helpfully. I’ve had three of the specialty pizzas, the Philly, buffalo chicken and taco and all were delicious. I was really interested in their happy hour specials as they offer a good selection of craft beer for individual sale. I’m really glad this place has opened. Good service, no frills joint and good pizza.

I walked into Bergami’s on the first day it opened(which was yesterday!), and was so impressed by the customer service and the food. Mark, the owner, is very easy to talk to, and the staff that I met was friendly and energetic. But now the important stuff: the pizza was SO good. You order it in a Quizno’s-like fashion, where you pick your crust, sauce, cheese(s) and toppings as you go. It is then toasted on a rotating rack and done in fewer than five minutes. The pizza came out with a delicious oven-baked taste, and all of the ingredients were fresh. According to the website, Bergami’s only sources local and organic produce and meats from local suppliers. They also only buy naturally and responsibly raised livestock and poultry, and do not add any hidden ingredients or antibiotics. I give them a lot of respect for that! Finally, for people with food allergies(like myself), they also offer gluten free and cauliflower crusts. I’ve got two words for Bergami’s: mmmm mmm! :)
