Just finished the walk yesterday…39 miles!!! This was an amazing event to take part in. Everyone was so nice and the energy was amazing. I met so many great people and heard so many amazing stories. The fund raising was a little hard at times(this year Avon Walk DC raised 8.1 million!!) and my feet have never hurt so bad but I would definitely do this walk again and encourage anyone thinking about it to register and walk. You won’t regret it.

My sister-in-law is doing this in Washington DC. It’s a 39-mile walk over two days to raise money for breast cancer research. Let me know if you’re interested in donating to her team.

You wake up every morning. Maybe you stop by your local Starbucks or Caribou for a coffee. A muffin. Leisurely read the newspaper. Maybe you stop by one of the wonderful restaurants that are reviewed here on Unilocal for lunch. Share a few laughs with coworkers and exchange office gossip. Maybe in the evening you and your friends, family or loved ones step into a bar for happy hour and drinks. Life is good, no? Maybe, just maybe, you should take a moment to reflect on how lucky you are to be able to do all those things time and again … Cause every year, tens of thousands of women never get the chance to live out those experiences ever again. I’ve been blessed and can say that none of the women in my life have been affected by this disease. I hope you can say the same. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for my friend’s mother. Contribute. Volunteer. Walk. Make a difference.
