I used to love coming to the Daily Grind whenever I came to town. This time around I see they’ve changed several things. Now they tout«organic» and«local». After having lunch and coffee this time I’ve determined these words mean«disguising» and«ridiculously expensive». They’ve obviously to changed their coffee. They state it’s fair trade. I have had fair trade coffee that tastes good. This is not that kind. It was flavorless and bland. The chicken salad was disappointing. The chicken was flavorless and dry. It did not taste fresh at all. The Mike’s Melt(my former personal favorite) did taste good. However the portion is tiny compared to how it used to be. They raised the pricess too. Naturally I expect inflation to occur. However don’t make the portions smaller in the process. I paid $ 10 for something I could easily have made at home for 50 cents. Why so stingy? So that’s the negative. Here’s the positive: THEYHAVETIMETOCHANGETHEIRWAYS. This is their 16th year in operation. Clearly something was working fine up until this point. I firmly believe the only thing keeping them in business today is the small town loyalty they’ve had up until now. However it clearly is waning. It was lunch time when we were there, and there were only a few patrons around. Dear owners of the Daily Grind, you once had the formula for greatness. It wasn’t broken, so there was no need to «fix» it. Go back to what worked. I love that you’re being conscious of providing healthy alternatives for the public. THAT’S GREAT! Don’t sacrifice flavor and value though. Waseca is not some uppity hipster district of Minneapolis. People here work hard and play hard. They know the value of their hard earned dollar. Mark my words, if you don’t go back to an actually good menu, and soon, you’re going to go out of business. I for one do not plan on coming back.

The only reason I even came here was because I had to file my taxes and the internet hadn’t been hooked up at the new apartment yet. I was quite surprised to find my new home in this small town had such a modern take on the café. The coffee here is surprising. I had a really great espresso blend with raspberry and mocha. It was very very good. I tried a lunch special while filing. A grilled honey chicken panini with a spring salad and veggies. Unbelievably good! It was sweet, savory, and oh so delicious. The workers here are very friendly as well. The free wifi was a nice touch, but you have to ask for a card with a 16 digit code on it because they had a problem with some locals downloading some… illegal material… after hours from their parking lot. All in all, this place is a great find. A little spendy all things considered, but I love having a great café/bistro like this so close to home!

Very nice atmosphere very nice people. I ordered their grilled chicken ceaser wrap it was really good. The only thing is I think they should offer what type of tortilla you want because they only have the white tortilla. I also ordered the steamer which is basically hot cocoa it was amazing. I am definitely coming back to try more things on their menu. Bottom line I love this place I’ll be back regularly

Surprisingly hip, modern coffee shop in the middle of nowhe– er, I mean, the middle of Waseca, MN. The sandwiches are actually pretty tasty, and there’s an impressive variety of options! However, my wife thought her latte was just mediocre. But I was still impressed to find this gem of a place on the corner of Hwy 13 and Hwy 14. PS — I believe they have free wifi, because the guy two tables over had his laptop on facebook the whole time.
