I’m pretty sure this place has CLOSED. But even if not, the service and the food was awful.

This is one of my go-to restaurants. The menu is extremely varied, offering cool twists on boring dishes and different options you don’t normal see in RI. Coming from NY, I sometimes miss some of the more exciting meal options you could easily find there, but this place satisfies that craving for me. I have always found this place to be under-priced for what they offer, and is a great location for a date or a group– relatively inexpensive food, cheaper options for those with a tighter wallet, with a quiet and classy atmosphere.

Its too bad that its gone down since the last time I visited which was 3 years ago. I was so excited to bring my boyfriend because I like the idea of fusion like Blaze on hope st. I usually order the salmon entrée but this time around it was over cooked and just not the same recipe. I usually order the same dish that impresses me to give my friends a glimpse. The last 2 times I’ve been there this summer, I’m not too big of a fan as I used to be.. Service was ok, food was bland, simple and more Americanized to be considered«fusion.»

Twist had for a long time been my go-to spot for trivia. They had great specials on wings and the staff was always friendly. I ventured in on a weekend night only to find that the same could not be said on other nights. The waitress seemed to be bothered by our asking for a refill, the portions were fairly small for a high price(with the exception of the kids meals… They are huge) and we were ignored on a rather slow night. It’s clean, they have decent food, but I will stick to occasional trivia and wing specials.

The short of it: don’t come here, Twist is overpriced for what it delivers. The long of it: I’ll start this review off with some of the better attributes of Twist, namely the décor. The inside of this restaurant is neat, up-scale and good higher-end date material. The bathrooms are the single detracting factor from this quality, as the toilets didn’t work very well in either the Men or Women’s room, though they both did have a bottle of Listerine with disposable cups! Unfortunately the best parts of Twist seem to be almost completely superficial. I visited the restaurant recently for a date around 6pm on a Friday night and was surprised to hear a live Saxophone performance as we walked in. Unfortunately I was surprised again by the performer’s skill, he really and truly wasn’t that good(maybe it was just a bad day, but I would have preferred a CD). My disappointment was almost washed away by the tasty calamari appetizer we ordered, which tasted delicious but was a little soggy. At first I chalked this up to the sauce, which complimented it almost perfectly. The appetizer was also brought out extremely quickly and the wait staff was really on top of serving us, which was really fantastic. Sadly the entrees were severely lacking in the flavor of the entrée but managed to maintain their under-par textures and consistency. I had the Wasabi Shrimp and Salmon with Jasmine rice. The meal was good except for the overcooked shrimp and salmon. The meat texture was similar to if it had been cooked and left on heat until it was needed. The best part of this meal was the presentation followed by the flavorful rice, which unlike the meat, was cooked perfectly. The meal wasn’t bad enough to return, but certainly doesn’t warrant a second visit. My date for the night order the chicken napoleon, which she’d fallen in love with a week prior at another restaurant. The chicken in this meal was tough and overcooked and lacking in flavor, though all of the other ingredients did seem fresh and well prepared. She ended up packing up half the meal(we were admittedly having ice cream later) and bringing it back to my place where she somewhat intentionally«forgot it» in my fridge. Oh well, guess I have some leftovers to work with soon. In case you’re still reading here’s a quick recap: Food is slightly more expensive than average Meats seem to regular have poor texture and be over-cooked Good atmosphere/décor Mouth wash in the bathroom Quick Service

Visited Twist on mother day for brunch. Was dreading dining out on Mother’s Day, restuarants are usually very busy, with poor service. NOTSO for Twist. Service was excellent. Heidi was very attentive and was always present when needed. Manager was very helpful with my handcapped mother in law… Food was very good, Will be back soon

I can’t really rate the restaurant itself because I never got a chance to eat there… but based on customer service and attitude alone… I wish it was not a requirement to assign stars. Two friends and myself decided to try Twist in Warwick because my gentleman friend obtained a coupon through our employer. The hours posted on-line and on the door: Hours Mon/Tues 11:30 — 10pm Weds/Thurs 11:30 — 11:00 pm Fri/Sat 11:30 — 12:00 am Sun 4 — 10 pm We arrived at about 7:20pm on Monday March 4th. When we saw the restaurant there were a few cars in the parking lot and people enjoying their meals and honestly, the smells were amazing of the food. We were greeted by a woman who was eating her dinner it seems, at the bar. We asked to be seated and she rudely stated«We are actually closed, we are having our hoods cleaned in about ½ hour». Mind you, there was nothing on the outside door stating that they would be closing early. There were about 6 tables of people and a couple of tables had just gotten their food. Um… ok. Now I come from a family who has owned restaurants in other states and one thing they would stress is that customer service is something that will definitely set you apart from the rest of the restaurant group. This lesson was not passed on to this particular employee. She did not apologize nor even make an offer of what she«could do», for example, limited menu, appetizers, or hey simply seat us at the bar and give us some bread sticks. With the attitude and lack of customer service from this employee, Twist has lost out on three customers that no longer have any desire to spend our money there. Good Luck Twist — maybe you may consider treating your employees to a couple of «Customer Service» lessons.

Twist really isn’t all that its cracked up to be. Honestly I’d never go back here. The food tasted like some frozen entrée you’d get at stop n shop and the prices were out the ass. I don’t mind paying $ for food if it’s worth it but when your not satisfied it bothers me. The service was terrible and the portions looked they were for a toddler. I’m a small girl but even that was too small for me. I don’t know how this place is still in business.

I used to go to Twist on Angell(Wayland Square, Providence) ALL of the time and it was consistently flawless. The restaurant group closed that location maybe a year ago… and this was my first time venturing to what I thought would be a stand up alternative. My friend and I had dinner here on Saturday evening — around 7:00pm, which should be PRIMETIME. We called ahead to ask about the wait time and the individual who answered the phone said that we would be seated right away. We thought that was great… but now I understand why. Right off the bat, just driving there… they need better signage. The entrance to the parking lot was so far removed from the main roads that we did a huge, complex loop… even though the building is visible from Bald Hill Road. When we arrived we were«greeted» coldly by the Hostess… who turned out to be the Manager as well. As we were arriving another customer was picking up take-out and the Hostess basically threw the girls food and change at her and didn’t even make eye contact, didn’t thank her, didn’t offer a pleasantry such as «have a nice night» just… take your food and get out. That situation alone made us feel a little awkward, because her body language and attitude was so uninviting. We sat down in the dining room, which was fine. There were several other tables around us… and the bar area seemed to be busier than the dining area. Our waitress, I believe her name was Courtney, was very friendly. No issues there. The Hostess however, continued to be a raving lunatic throughout the entire meal. It was clear that there were other tables who were having issues with their orders, because the Hostess would report back to the waitress station loudly complaining about the other customers and how it was almost a nuisance to her. She was extremely rude and condescending to her wait staff, the staff in the kitchen, and basically any other human being that got in her path. She would walk by our table and just glare at us. No smile, no «how is everything?», or «Can I get you anything else?», just cold, angry looks as she stomped by. We felt unwelcome, uncomfortable, and sincere compassion for the people working for her. Our meals were mediocre at best. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles and it was basically chicken fingers stacked on frozen waffles with sweet potato fries. Big deal. My friend got a Gorgonzola Pasta that was bland and nothing special. Both dishes were $ 16+ and not at all worth the money that we paid for them. We did split the lemon cake with blueberry cream cheese frosting which was the ONLY redeeming quality of our meal. It was delicious, perhaps a legacy from Twist on Angell. Last but not least… and this is just something that struck me as trashy… for most of our meal there was a half eaten chicken wing on the floor of the kitchen underneath the door. It just grossed me out personally. That’s all. I would never go back to Twist. I am sad that this location does not live up to the former Twist on Angell… but it is poorly managed and needs an overhaul.

We came in for the first time around 6pm on a Wednesday, the place was totally empty, except for one other table. The hostess was a bit rough around the edges, but our waitress was pleasant. The food was fine, no complaints.

I came here for my going away lunch with my fabulous grandmother, it’s a place that I’ve been really wanting to go to, but I have to say I was slightly disappointed. Even though I had great company the restaurant did not live up to my expectations and fell a little short. The restaurant was very dark for being lunch time, I could barely see the beautiful woman’s face across from me. I was also stuck to the cracked vinyl seats and was very uncomfortable during the entire experience. I had been very excited to order the grilled tofu entrée, but when we arrived I look at the menu and it was completely different from what I saw online. When I asked the waitress(who was a manager) what was good she said it was a completely new menu as of that day and she wasn’t sure. If I had a restaurant and came out with a new menu I would have all of my workers sit down and taste all of the new offerings, that way they could help the customer with choosing a meal. After much deliberation I had the black bean falafel entrée. When it came out to me, it looked more like a salad than a 16 dollar entrée? The falafels were the best part though, moist and delicious! They tasted yummy dipped in the lime sour cream. The tortillas that were served had a weird texture and tasted a little stale. The rest of the entrée was basically a salad. Not what I had expected, it was decent for a salad, but not good enough for being an entrée. I tried to make little tacos out of the items on my plate and it was just a messy process. My grandma on the other hand loved her crab cakes and thought they were very delicious. After clearing our plates the waitress handed us our bill right away, not asking if we wanted dessert. We had to call her over and ask to know what was for dessert so I could satisfy my sweet tooth. I ordered the chocolate raspberry torte which ended up being very delicious. All around the food was decent, but not as good as I thought it would be. The waitress was bad mouthing people from her gym with the women next to us. She just seemed a little unprofessional to me and I’m not sure If I would try this Twist location again.

On a Saturday for lunch my husband, daughter & I visited Twist for lunch. We had previously eaten at Twist and had a favorite entrée, the Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna. My husband and I ordered the Tuna at $ 20 each(I believe the price has increased) cooked rare and my daughter ordered the Turkey sandwich. The restaurant was practically empty. The service was good. Our entrees came out and I was alarmed how cooked the Tuna was, it was medium to well! Before the server left I immediately told her that this is NOT rare. She removed both of our entrees. My daughters sandwich was good. The server returned within a few minutes with the same 2 tuna entrees telling us that this Tuna is «different» and even if remade it will be the same overcooked tuna! She placed the dish in front of me to see if I still would like to eat it! As she stood staring at me I took my fork and proceeded to show her how the tuna flaked to pieces and explained that it was overcooked. She then offered us the menu to choose something else! After removing the tuna my husband and I picked out a spinach salad and a roast beef sandwich, the Twist Dip. about halfway though my daughters lunch our lunches arrive. My spinach salad had 99% plain spinach and was very boring. My husbands sandwich was OK. Our bill came, we paid, we left. On our way home we stopped to get me something to eat because I was still hungry only had eaten a dish of raw spinach! Overall a very disappointing lunch at Twist.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to rate Twist! Twist offers a fairly similar menu to other locations in the Marra chain of restaurants, which is nice as there’s always a chance you can get your favorite dish at another location, or find something fairly similar. You might notice I get very excited/rate higher restaurants that offer a gluten free menu. Not only does Twist offer an exclusive GF menu, but the ownership clearly understands what it means to cook gluten free, including having designated GF cooking stations in the kitchen, etc. Let’s also not forget the GF desserts made by their pastry chef which are quite honestly out of this world. The place is a little pricey for just a casual Friday night out, but not bad if you’re looking for something a little nicer than your run of the mill chain restaurant while still maintaining a low key feel.

This is my first Unilocal review and I wish it was a positive one but after dining at Twist for the first time last night, I feel I must comment. In our party of 4, 2 of us ordered a tenderloin special which turned out to be sold out. My wife and I then ordered a sea bass special. It arrived so overlooked we had to send it back and order something else. Not finding much on the menu that appealed to me, I ordered a French dip roast beef sandwich. There was nothing remarkable about it and the dipping sauce had little taste. My wife then ordered a salmon dish which was the best dish among the 4 of us. One of our companions ordered what was described as baby back ribs. They didn’t look or taste like any baby backs I have seen. Plus, they tasted like they’d been cooked much earlier and were not particularly warm. Our other companion ordered the sirloin steak which he said was OK but not great. There are many fine local restaurants in Rhode Island. Unfortunately, Twist doesn’t Seem to be among them.

I thought we had made the wrong choice when we came here because it was about 1 o’clock in the afternoon and there was two other people in the place. But, we did not make the wrong choice in coming here! I am a vegetarian and my dad is celiac. They have an extensive gluten menu. He got the turkey sandwich and the bread was actually very food!(Normally gluten free bead… ew). I had the tofu and it was actually prepared with good flavor and consistency. It’s extremely nice to have a vegetarian option that isn’t just the house salad. Delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and the place was quiet but that probably had to do with the lack of people. Also, the décor and the plating is beautiful at this location! I enjoyed it very much though. It’s right on the way from the airport so on future trips to Rhode Island I plan on stopping by.

Attended a business event last week and was surprised by how small the dining room was(it looked somehow bigger from outside) and the bar area was even smaller. Overall, Twist is a nice place, conveniently located by the Warwick Mall with a large parking lot. The grilled pizzas appetizers are very good and the whole menu is reasonably priced. The service that night worked their butts off and appeared to need help. Not my first choice, but I would be happy to return.

I’ve been dining at Twist for several years now; I used to visit Twist on Angell prior to them closing, it’s now lead me to go to Twist in Warwick. I think years ago the quality of the food/service used to be better, or perhaps it was just a location thing, but this particular location isn’t so impressive. It’s a fairly small restaurant and the bar area only has a few small tables other than the bar itself. I’ve ordered tons of appetizers, entrees, desserts and cocktails; all at fair prices with good quantities. My favorite is the hummus platter, mmm. During the week they offer ½ price appetizers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., not bad! I just wish Twist was as good as it used to be.

Good food. They have a extensive gluten free menu. I had the ribs once and they were amazing, but I ordered them again and they were not as good. I have had other meals that were also very good. Good liquor selection and average wait staff.

Made my second trip back to Twist on Friday evening with John. I had the sesame crusted ahi tuna on a field of greens with gorgonzola cheese with a glass of sangria. John had the grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. I love me some ahi tuna and especially when it is pan seared. Twist knocked this one out of the park. so good and so delicious. I was surprised that John only ordered the grilled cheese but was once again amazed when it came out. The sandwich came on artisan bread with a mixture of hot gooey cheese inside with some hot mustard and an apple slice. John says the apple slice made the sandwich but not being a fan of hot mustard I took it for my tuna. Sadly we were the only people in the dining area. We chalked it up to a mixture of the economy and the sucking hole of the warwick mall being closed next door. If you are on the verge of checking this place go do it.

I’ve ordered pizza here a few times and its delish. We finally tried this place for lunch during the week. * Food was incredible especially their mashed potatoes def one of the best places more expensive or not in the area for garlic mashes * Service was awesome and we were waited on by 2 energetic waitresses who were friendly as can be thought it was PACKED with business suits and the like. I have no idea when the other guy(Matt L) went to twist but it’s not dead at all unless you’re there right when they open? The food is awesome at a reasonable price and the crowd is business oriented/some couples. I had the grilled chick sandwich awesome and hubby had the steak and cheese which had quality steak done well not rubbery and a big portion at that! You will leave satisifed not broke and hungry like a lot of places!
