I live in Warrenville and was excited to see a taqueria open. i have been there twice and have mixed feelings. In both cases I ordered a Mexican style steak taco, and in both cases they were delish. Very fresh tasting, fresh tortillas, not too salty, and topped with onion & cilantro. Nice flavor in the meat, tender, not fatty. The first time I ate there I got a side of refried beans. Again, very good, nice flavor and consistency, large portion for the price. The second time I went there I ordered rice and chips with guac instead of beans with my tacos. Those side dishes were not as good, I’m afraid. Chips were fried to order so they were hot, but greasy and tasted like they were fried in old oil. Guac did not taste bad, but did not look fresh. Rice was blah, no seasoning, had unidentifiable blobs in it. I am hoping they’ll get better with time. Also hope they’ll be a late night joint, especially since they have a window connecting to the bar next door. If they do not take advantage of the late night burrito-hungry drunks they will be missing an opportunity. No booze served there, so go to the bar or do like I did — get your food to go & make a margarita to go with it at home. :-) Also weird that you can get shrimp in most dishes, but not tacos. Not on the menu, so I asked and they said they could not do it. Bummer. Hope they get better & can make a go of it more than others that have been in this spot — Sports Dog, Sofia’s Diner, etc. Warrenville is at least 11% Hispanic(last I heard-likely higher now as that was several years ago) should have a decent non-chain Mexican joint.

I work in the area and saw the Grand Opening sign out side the business. I decided hey why not ill give it a try on lunch and have some tacos. I went in because i could not find any phone number or anything to pre order my food but its new so it was to be expected. I went in and ordered my food not to mention the insanely over priced menu i just figured its more they are probaly giving you more food… NO i got back to work with my nachos and Horchata I was expecting something good for the price i had just payed $ 10 on lunch for nachos and a small drink that they called«Large». I opened my plate and i saw the sadest excuse for nachos ever the plate was not even half way had alot of tortilla chips a little bit of beans and meat. that was strike 1 i opened one of the salsas they gave me claming it was mild tasted like tomatos and water not good they i tried the one they called hot tasted like i bit into a raw Habanero pepper strike 2 now when i tried the actual food not good at all over powered with saltyness and made me feel sick. All in all if there was an option to give them less than the rating i have. made my stomach hurt and i feel like i might be sick first and LAST time i ever go there.
