We rented the Carousel Ice Cream Truck for our wedding after finding them via Google! Let me tell you, this was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! They were very well priced, great to work with(one of the easiest going vendors ever!) and had fantastic service and ice cream. We can’t thank them enough and it was such a great surprise for our guests; they are still raving about them! We wish we lived closer so we could go there all the time. We will be back when we’re in the area and can’t recommend them enough. If you want an event that stands out or great dessert, go for a visit!

Friendly staff, amazing ice cream and other treats. New flavors all the time. Try the Slider special one time when you’re in the area for lunch or dinner, the fries are AMAZING. and the sliders come wiht carmelized onions and cheddar cheese. It’s filling, decently priced and also comes with a drink– which you can upgrade for a shake or sundae for your dessert. My all tim favorite is the apple crisp and the pumpkin ice cream in the fall. There’s nothing like it around! Patio is dog friendly– and if you bring your dog, don’t forget to ask for a pup cup– free with your purchase! Open from around St. Patrick’s Day until Halloween.

Love coming here! A lot of options for your sweet tooth, as well as classic Americana food(hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.) So far, I’ve had the funnel cake, soft serve, and Dole whip. Excited to try some of their other items!

This is your friendly neighborhood summer eatery. The lines go very fast and there is something on the menu for everyone. They even offer puppy cups when you bring your pooch.

It’s been a little while since I’ve been here and came today for lunch and a treat so here’s my update as I had never tried any of their food before, just their ice cream. I was hoping to get a corn dog but sadly I was informed they only sale those on Wednesday. A little odd, but their slider special had caught my eye so I got that instead. Two sliders topped with cheese and sautéed onions, with a side of fries and a drink for $ 5.95. Yummy! The sliders needed sauce of some sort, mayo or fry sauce(mayo+ketchup mixed) but other then that I would get those again. LOVED the fries. So yummy. And I think they were topped with a light dash of sea salt which was really yummy. After lunch I took a twist, chocolate dipped cone to go. Yum! Their funnel cake sundae is my favorite but I was already way too full! It’s a good thing I don’t live very close to this place! It’s so fatty but so yummy! If you are passing through or are up for a little drive for some classic American food and a VAST menu of ice cream options, certainly worth checking out.

One of the best ice cream places on the planet! It is worth the trip, why not combine it with an adventure to Luray Caverns in Front Royal and on the way back enjoy some good food and ice cream?

A Warrenton gem! Plenty of options ranging from The Waterloo(half shake /half sundae) to Hawaiian ice! They have a very extensive menu that can satisfy any sweet tooth to come in and try it out! One of my favorites!

Have been coming here snce forever ago and only posting my review now. Wonderful place to get yummy soft serve ice cream/floats/shakes/splits and even hot foods like fries/mozz sticks/grill foods. The long line is a good indication that people will wait(and the wait is not that long). They have set up a second line for cones/cups(soft ice cream orders only). So that helps! We ordered a soda for our son and they refilled it for free :) Cash only… although they had the credit card swipey thing when we were there but it’s easier with cash plus we normally put a few bucks for their tip jar. After you place your order at the right window, you then wait for your name to be called in the middle window. Easy Peasy. Closed for winter which is a bummer.

I will miss you, Carousel. I have so many happy memories of this place. I would stop here often after long hikes in Shenandoah. I was sad every time it closed for the season, and looked forward to it opening every year. The grilled cheese, the hot dogs, the boardwalk fries … so good. The sundaes, the Waterloos, the flavors of the day. Even the Captain Crunch was the best. And … Dole Whip. I’ll miss that most of all. I’ve moved away now, and last Saturday was probably my last visit. But this place is a must visit if you’re in Warrenton, or just traveling through towards somewhere else. IT may«just» be soft serve, but it is 100% worth the stop.

My Wife and I recently tried out this place after some friends of ours tipped us off to it and wow were we impressed. The ice cream is incredible. They actually make something that’s half milkshake, half ice cream sundae. No clue how that’s even possible, but it’s amazing. The real surprise, however, is the food. Their sliders are the best I’ve ever had, hands down. They also have some awesome chili fries. I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Also a bonus, they just recently started taking credit cards so no need to run to the ATM before visiting!

A very popular local hot spot. Known especially for their sweet treats, they also serve a few small bites. Stayed in Warrenton for a few days so I took advantage and made sure I stopped here every chance I got. My first order I had a Waterloo which is half sundae and half milkshake. It’s was pretty good but more than I can consume. My second order was the strawberry shortcake. Omg! I still dream about it now. It was perfect. If you’re ever in Warrenton, you must stop here for dessert! Quick info — cash only(Update! I believe they accept credit cards now) and it’s seasonal. Only 4 stars is because I haven’t tried the whole menu. I would also like to add for pet owners, they offer sweet treats for your pups! I believe it’s free so def a plus.

Stopped by here on the way home from Shenandoah National Park and was thrilled to find the place! Adorable décor just as you would imagine from a ice cream parlor from plucked right out of the 60s. I was just in the mood from a nice soft serve. They had a hand-dipped melted chocolate. Not only was the ice cream delcious but it made to perfection. The cone was filled with ice cream down to the very last tip! NEVERSEEN a cone made to such perfection in every bite. The staff was wonderfully friendly, they have wet wipes in addition to napkins to help you clean off your hands and despite the crowd but wait was relatively short! Definately worth a trip even if you have to travel a bit out of the way!

Bad first experience, all around. The entire bottom of my sugar-free blackberry gelati was some type of orange sherbet that I didn’t order, and it was not sugar-free. Someone could have mentioned their gelati’s have a surprise hidden orange sugary bottom when I ordered a sugar-free item — what if I was diabetic? I threw mine away, very disappointed. The chocolate malt was given to me in a slit styrofoam cup. I didn’t realize it was leaking, and it was a mess on the drive home. I told them«extra extra chocolate.» My husband said it didn’t taste like chocolate at all, only sugar, and the malt was sour and weird-tasting. About only half of a large cup had survived the way home, but was mostly tossed anyway. There is nothing special about the taste or quality of products here. I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I doubt I’ll return.

Finally, finally a place that sells chocolate soft serve that actually tastes like chocolate! It was so noticeable that I made it a point to go back after eating my wonderful cone and mention it to the owner. He said it is made especially for his business. Waitstaff is very very friendly — they even asked me if I wanted a small soft serve for my golden retriever. Nice size area for sitting outside and enjoying your ice cream. If I am in the area again, I would definitely make it a point to stop here.

My wife and I were in town for a wedding and we stumbled upon this place while visiting a highly Unilocaled café in the same shopping center. It’s interesting, soft serve ice cream and the flavor is some kind of syrup that seems to envelop the soft serve kind of like a little strip of chocolate or other flavor. I liked it! Service was prompt and the soft serve hit the spot.

Huggge menu and tons of flavors, but I found the various shades of soft serve weren’t very heavily flavored. I had a cherry cone, my companions butterscotch, and we were only tasting vanilla after the first few licks. However, this was completely made up for with a nutella lined cone. So so good, and unique! I see they have fried twinkies and oreos… I’m intrigued!

Hubby and I had the rare date night on a Saturday night. We went to dinner and then stopped by Carousel without the kids… shhhhh. He had a butterscotch shake that he thought was wonderful. I had the strawberry shortcake sunday. It was really good and I felt it was worth the price. They say it’s homemade shortcake with a decent amount of ice cream and strawberries. Then it’s finished off with whipped cream and shortcake crumbles. Yum! I want to add that the line was long but they have such a great system that we ordered and got our desserts really quickly.

This place was pretty awesome, so close to 5 stars. Ordered the creamsicle, strawberry banana milkshake, and a hot dog special, which came with fries and a drink. Creamsicle — absolutely awesome — orange and vanilla goodness, yum. Could have had a touch more orange in it. Milkshake… fresh banana — hot dang, that thing was fantastic. Hot dog — not good at all, despite the good toppings. They need to pick different dogs and toast the buns. Fries… amazing. Seemed to be fresh cut, double fried, and salted right away after the fryer. Seriously special.

Sometimes I think I go hiking in Shenandoah because I know I can get Carousel on the way back… Sea salt fries. Crazy cheap for the amount that you get. I love the cut. I love the salt. I love the crunch. I love the color. I love the paper/wrapping that it comes in. Probably on my top ten french fries list. I love french fries… I can only say«hell yes» to their soft serve… F frozen yogurt when you can get a soft serve that tastes like that. Also cheap for what you get… the ‘flavor’ is basically the syrup that runs along the edges, though. Their shakes. Awesome. So thick, so creamy, so delicious. The variety is endless… and they have some savory foods in case you’re not the smoothie/ice cream treats type or you’re just hungry. ;) I love the outdoor-only seating… and the fact that it’s in pretty much a trailer-looking deal. LOL. It’s a super-shame that it’s closed for several months during the cold seasons. I’d hit it up in December if I could.

Carousel really is as good as it gets. I’ve been to lots of other ice cream stands that are great, but nothing compares to Carousel. It started as a small little idea that exploded into the amazing hit it is today. You almost always have to wait in line — but it’s totally worth it. The people that work there are mostly teenagers & you can tell they really enjoy the job. They are quick & keep the line moving pretty smoothly. It’s a must do during the spring-fall season — just remember your cash!
