Okay so I take back everything I said because once I posted this review I noticed a gigantic change in the owners disposition and my trip has been enjoyable ever since. While I do not love how long my visit sometimes takes if I’m not the only person in line I’m happy to wait to get a perfect coffee every time I go there. Sorry for ever trashing the place!

The kolaches are to die for! And the quiche, energy bars, and vegan cookie. And the coffee! I love to study here, and it’s a great place to meet friends or just enjoy some alone time. If I’m in a hurry I call ahead and ask for my order to be ready to pick up when I arrive – I love that I can do this! My favorite coffee place in Warrensburg, for sure. Just the kind of place that makes a college town homey. I love Old Drum!

Tasty coffee and a nice selection of breakfast muffins, scones, and cookies baked fresh everyday. Staff is friendly, making my BF and I two latte’s that we both enjoyed. We also had a blueberry muffin and a cinnamon roll– each were very good, the cinnamon roll in particular pairs nicely with the latte’s we had. Definitely plan on returning and enjoying one of the better local café’s in the area.

The Old Drum is a neat coffee shop tucked into historic downtown Warrensburg. With a cozy atmosphere and good coffee, it’s a great place to unwind, chat with friends, or get some work or studying done. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and will certainly return the next time I find myself in town.

I am an out of towner and first time visitor to Warrensburg who had a business meeting in town today. I wanted to visit the downtown campus area and grab a cup of coffee and partake of some free wifi to do some laptop work I needed to do and emails. I sat and visited with Beth the owner as she served up a medium sized cup of heaven to me. I was so impressed to learn that this is her coffee shop she has built from the ground up after having experienced one of those fork in the road life path decisions she faced in life having been a certified rock star High School Spanish teacher in a nearby town. As a former small business owner myself, I take my freaking hat off to anyone with the courage and passion to follow a dream and launch out on their own in order to fill one’s inner passion tank back up, recharge the batteries, and do something awesome in life! The positive energy and passion that Beth shared with me during our conversation left me feeling as invigorated as 10 cups of the delicious Latte with cream flower on top! I plan to eat the all organic, farm fresh, home baked goods on my next trip to town. Go and meet Beth and her staff! Sit and drink and chill and enjoy the cool industrial, hip, surroundings and soak in the eclectic and old farm house feel of this place. I believe in Beth and I hope anyone reading this review will go and support someone who deserves all the success in the world!

As far as local coffee shops go, this one doesn’t get much better in Warrensburg. Beth has really grown this business into something with staying power. She and her staff serve up fantastic pastries(I recommend the pumpkin spice muffins later in the year) and the coffee drink quality is better than any in town. Very few places get this right, but Old Drum will make your tail wag – which could also be attributed to the caffeine. If you hit downtown Warrensburg, stop here first.

Old drum is fine. It could be a bit more exciting, with more music and chatter but the atmosphere works out okay. The worst part is the hours! A coffee shop in Warrensburg really needs to stay late for the students. Most students have class until 5 or so, which would only give them an hour to be at their shop. If they were open late a night two or three days a week(or Sundays) I think they would get a LOT more business. Also, Sundays are students study days, and it is really unfortunate they cannot go to Old Drum then. They really need to realize that if they had better hours then they could have more service instead of competing with Java Junction and Blackadder. They do have open mic nights which are fun and really great cookies!

The truth about the Old Drum legend is likely safely buried with the historic pup who bears the moniker, but you can just imagine a wagging tale at the thought of having his own coffeehouse and bakery. What’s marketing genius? Three words imprinted on the door: Come, sit, stay. And that’s exactly what you want to do when you walk in the historic downtown building. There’s something about exposed brick that makes you want to drink coffee and talk about things that aren’t your business. Old Drum’s business is baked goods and standard coffee-drink fare at recession prices. 75 cent cookie? Someone is feeling nostalgic. I had the Old Drum cookie. I was unsure how the cookie, which could be called«Chocolate Moon», was supposed to be an homage to the dog, until I found myself inhaling it much like Old Drum might. Well played. I would have had another, but I had to drive. They feature a custom coffee from The Roasterie which is good but definitely plays setup to the baked goods which, surprisingly, only featured a few items. Perhaps this is an economic game of supply and demand — or maybe the early hordes had picked over the other options — or maybe, and much more likely, the baker would rather do a few things well than twenty things averagely. I don’t plan on changing my coffee allegiance from neighboring Java Junction just yet, but for a quick stop for a sweet treat, Old Drum may be a man’s best friend.
