I came here last weekend with three friends for a drink before dinner. We went to Tracks for our cocktail. The ambience is fun – ski memorabilia, creepy but quaint taxidermy, the bar is beautiful and well appointed, the staff is professional, the couches are cozy and there’s a fireplace. A more upscale(but still casual – we were in jeans and I had a flannel top on and fit in) apres ski bar. We sat at the couches in the Main section and felt cozy – our waitress was so knowledgable, super friendly, and helpful. I wanted a gin cocktail but wasn’t feeling gin and before I even asked she told us we could mix them up. It was delicious! We were catching up and had a blast. We were in and out in an hour – perfect for our reservation elsewhere. The waitress kindly split the bill for us and we were on or way. If definitely go back!

This place is perfection. I booked 10 rooms here for my husband’s 50th birthday. Every room has its own personality, and every detail is carefully considered. The housekeeping was spotless, and touch-ups were unobtrusive. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was silent at night. We had a dinner at the Inn one night and the food and service were excellent. Ari, the General Manager, helped me plan a menu in advance. We had a good time talking over options. I left the details to him and to the chef, and they planned a great meal. Breakfast in the Inn each morning is excellent. Local, homemade, delicious. The bakery items are ridiculously good. If you can think of an excuse to stay here, use it. The Pitcher Inn is worthy of the hype!!!

Tracks is fabulous. The stonework and lighting are beautiful. Service was outstanding too. We ordered the blistered peppers and local meat plate to start and they were generous portions of very good treats. We shared the steak frites. Drinks were also tasty. Portions were perfect for my husband and me. The bill was reasonable and we will definitely go back.

Fantastic! I recently got engaged here(and will likely wed here) and the staff made the experience an incredibly memorable one. They were accommodating and warm throughout our stay, and very responsive throughout the«planning» process. They followed through with promises. The food and accommodations(we stayed in the Trout Room) were excellent! Above all, I appreciate their genuine dedication to the guest experience which was exemplified our first night when Betsy told us «of course you can, this is your home for the weekend!» Do not pass up the opportunity to experience The Pitcher Inn!

I stayed at the Inn over Christmas with my girlfriend and my family, and had a wonderful time: each room is unique, and tastefully decorated, on top of being very comfortable. Both restaurants, 275 Main as well as the bar downstairs, Tracks, serve exceptional food in an intimate, low-key atmosphere(exactly what we were looking for). Amenities like the library provided additional opportunities to get together and spend quality time in a cozy environment. Most importantly, and I believe this is what makes the Pitcher Inn a truly special place, the entire staff, and the general manager Ari, went out of their way to make us feel at home, decorating the room with a Christmas tree, having dishes prepared outside of dinner hours when some of my family members got a cold, and overall allowed us to make the most of our stay, despite the lack of snow. Highly recommend this place for family vacations or getaway weekends!

Each room in this quaint a wad winning hotel has a theme. I’m in the Calvin Coolidge room which is basically decorated and dedicated to the former president. A few other rooms I know about are the Trout room, you guessed it, a trout themed room, the Presidents Room, the Mallard Room, the Ski room and the Loft to name a few. This is a top rated hotel and is everything they say and more.

My husband and I are both foodies — we don’t mind the price if the meal fits the bill. This is such a place. The presentation and taste from start to finish was excellent. The dining room with the fireplace was lovely. We will be back!

I can’t say anything for the Pitcher Inn and its hotel accommodations, but I can speak for the fabulous underground mini-restaurant titled«Tracks». The first thing that struck me as a I walked in were the beautiful photos of mountainous animals, with their paw prints and names. Mellow music was played, and there were more couch and lounge areas then tables. Board games were available, and a grand fireplace was burning. The best part, in my opinion was the game room. Complete with a gorgeous pool table, a shuffleboard and antique billiard balls and q-sticks, the game room was hit! The only thing I didn’t like about Tracks was that the food took a very long time. It was fine for us however, because we were in the above mentioned game room, and I could understand, the place was crowded. The food was amazing. I recommend the burger with bacon. Hope to return there soon!

Perfect place in Warren, VT. Spent two nights in the Calvin Coolidge room, staff was superb and accommodating. Had dinner in the dining room– wonderful fresh fish and salads, had dinner the following night in the bar– great fish and chips and delicious cocktails. Bar has a nice pool table, fireplace, good vibe. Reservations recommended– even for seating at the bar.

The matrede was supper pleasant(Thx Ari) and helpful, and our waiter knew exactly when to ask for our order or let is enjoy moment. The portions were perfect size, as we did not have to roll out of our chairs, and very tasty. Looking forward to coming back next time I’m in the area. Thx!!!

Amazing Inn. The inn exceeded our expectations in every way. We were looking for a nice place to stay on our road trip through Vermont and the Pitcher Inn was perfect. The room was comfortable and well decorated. The casual restaurant, Tracks, was very good and had a pool table and shuffleboard for after dinner. The service was top notch and we definitely will pay another visit to the hotel when we return to Vermont.

We came all the way from California to experience this amazing inn and restaurant. It was worth the drive(kidding, we flew). We came to Vermont and specifically The Pitcher Inn to celebrate a birthday. It was indeed a birthday that will stand out in my mind for many years. The food and service were off the chart. The location of Warren and this gem are unique. Dinner and our breakfast were the highest quality of food and service… the grilled octopus appetizer with fresh beans were amazing. The halibut was outstanding. We shared a strawberry rhubarb tart for dessert. Wow. The Inn even comes with an academic General Manager who recites Shakespeare. Can’t wait to return in winter for cross country skiing.

WE arrived to the warmest welcome in a sublime setting, with everything thought out incredibly well. Sioban(sp) greeted us at the check in, and walked us to our rooms while Ari welcomed us from the managers room. We could not have felt more welcome! I had the school house room and my friend had the mallard room — again, nothing was left out — the rooms are decorated to the n’th degree, — the bed could have been more comfortable, but other then that, it is spacious, well designed, and comfortable. We dined in the main dining room where the rest of the family took care of us! The food was fantastic, and pardon me for forgetting our wonderful waitress(Ari’s wife and daughter. But here is what caps off the stay! Before we left, we went down for breakfast — our gorgeous waitress(ari’s daughter — again, i am terrible with names) took our order. i ordered granola, blueberries and yogurt. She apologized that they did not have blueberries, only other assortments of fruit. The next thing we knew… my friend saw her running across the street to the amazing«store» — and lo and behold, a generous portion of blueberries along w/home made granola was put in front of me. Top that!

The Inn is a cozy romantic b&b that goes well beyond the usual to make guests feel special. The staff and the service they provide is exceptional. The food is of high quality and the wine list in their restaurant is extensive. Our in room wood burning fireplace was a perfect touch. I was sad to leave to go back to the hustle and bustle of NYC but I guess fairy tales can’t last forever.

Giving the Pitcher Inn 5 stars just doesn’t seem to do it justice. Dining at 275 Main was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life! Impeccable service, spaced out seat right in front of the fire place, mouth watering food and delicious drinks made the whole experience INCREDIBLE! Thank you fellow Unilocalers once again for this stellar recommendation. In the beginning it reminded me very much of the Equinox Resort in Manchester, VT, but in the end it was leaps and bounds ahead. Props to our server Mason who invented his own cocktail and had a huge personality! Here’s what we got and will be dreaming about until next winter: –Lobster in butter with fennel appetizer –Duck Confit Risotto with Parmigiano Reggiano and Shaved Foie Gras appetizer –Almond Potato Gnocchi with Roasted Winter Squash, Curly Red Mustard Greens, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Parmigiano Reggiano –Grilled Northeast Family Farms Beef Tenderloin with a Castello-Scallion Potato Cake, Brussels Sprouts and Pancetta It does get a little pricey, but definitely worth it after a long(cold) day on the slopes!

While the Pitcher Inn itself is a lovely place in a wonderful setting, this review is really for the top-notch customer service. Ari and Siobonne, and the Pitcher Inn team really go above and beyond to ensure their guests are truly pleased with their stay — and if anything is amiss, it’s corrected immediately. Customer service really doesn’t get any more personal, friendly, or simply more down-right amazing than this, folks. Highly recommend.

Food, décor, ambience, absolutely perfect. The staff really needs to get over themselves, as it is just a great dining experience. It is great to see this place as the backbone of Warren Village, as most of the town is in decay and disrepair, but this gem of a building more than makes up for it. The downstairs is also another gem of a place, the woodwork, stonework and everything more than shows the level of effort given to making such a nice place work.

The Pitcher Inn deserves five stars — got four because of oversalted spinach :) But it was outstanding in every respect other than that, starting with the table service — silver — the somelier(Ari) who listened to our wine ideas and came up with a 2007 Napa Valley Zin that was delicious(and in our price range, without asking what our price range was, based on a previous wine choice — nice). My wife had French Onion soup with blue cheese crouquettes, delicious, but sherry and craime fraische based so it’s rich. I had an absolutely wonderful duck /watercress /dark-toasted rye croûton /bacon salad, with clementines. Nice touch. Next she had a marvelous warm beet salad with green peppercorns. Main course — she had a vanilla bean infused parsnip ravioli. I had beef tenderloin, local, medium rare, with unfortunately salty spinach, and a delicious blue cheese ravioli. I finished up with their cheese plate — a refined, aged local Vermont goat cheese(excellent) and a sheeps milk brie clone(buttery — I should’ve gone for a harder cheese, there was one there) along with a nice plate of dried figs, apricots, and hazelnuts and walnuts, along with several nice cheese breads. The atmosphere literally can’t be beat — real fireplace, beautiful inn, and super-attentive staff. Leave your worries at the door, plan on spending a couple hundred dollars, and enjoy every minute of it.

The Pticher Inn is a Relais & Chateaux property, of which there are maybe 20 in the northeast USA, including the Inn at Little Washington, Per Se, and Daniel. Judging the Pitcher Inn against its peers is perhaps unfair, since it is in the backwoods of Vermont, and yet, it is an oasis of satisfaction in any setting. So how to judge the Pitcher Inn? Darned if I know, but it is a fantastic experience. The only complaints I had are 1: it is expensive, and 2: it is not Michelin 3 star urban-chic-inventive-sous-vide cooking. It is, however, top-notch cuisine, and served in a convivial setting, very casual, as true to Vermont as is possible while being high-end but casual, and the wine list puts most restaurants to shame. Lasting for several pages, it makes you drool, and although it contains many expensive wines, many are priced more fairly than the typical 3 times retail markup. But in spite of all this, the service is friendly, warm and eccentric Vermont. Get them going on almost any topic and they will engage you as much as you want! The food is sublime, we had the duck confit salad with bacon and greens, the cauliflower soup with tiny meatballs done 3 ways, the squash-filled ravioli with sage brown butter sauce, but it had a fresh(cold) farmers cheese, lemon zest and hazlenuts to round it out, which made it unlike any other squash-filled ravioli with sage brown butter sauce that we ever had. A duck dish with more squash, kale and a beautiful sauce, and a veal chop with brussels sprouts and crispy potatoes was divine. We moved on to the cheese cart, and then dessert, which we had to split. A panna cotta with figs, and the panna cotta was done to perfection, not too soft, not too hard, with figs soaked in a berry sauce that I can’t quite remember. We were stuffed to the gills, and quite happy. And now the best for last, do not tell anyone this randomly(this is why we all read and write for Unilocal), but your host, Ari, loves Monty Python, and if you can quote it, and show an appreciation for wine, he will take care of you, and you will have the most wonderful time imaginable. Wink wink nudge nudge, know what I mean, say no more!

Review of Tracks pub — the smaller, more casual dining and drinking option here is Tracks in the basement. Don’t let the«in the basement» thing scare you away, this is some basement — stone walls, plump couches, thick beams, a big rec room with a pool table, shuffle board and darts, maybe? I send the kids in here while we wait and it’s all good. Outdoors is a idyllic patio, as I mention below. The food is fantastic, though pricey. You are paying for good service and ambiance, however, so factor that in. Also, everything made on site, sauces, breads, etc, and top quality. The shaved pork sandwich was one of the best sandwiches we’ve ever had, one I’m dying to have again. The burger is outstanding, large and sharable, salads always delicious, shallot dusted fries delectable. And the bev’s — top quality: local beers thick and pretty enough to look like fountain drinks and a yummy, huge wine list.
