I like places like this. Its not that big but that doesnt stop them from packing it in. There isnt a lot of space to talk around and browse, but that only because there are so many comics. Seriously, if youre claustrophobic, take heed. Id also recommend that you be familiar with the way comic shop culture works. This isnt where you go if youre just looking around, trying to figure out what this whole ‘comics’ thing is about. Youd better level up, first.

This is the comic shop I grew up with. When I was about 12 years old, TJ’s opened. I recall going into the shop the first week they’ve opened, when boxes were still strewn about the floor. The shop is in a strip mall and has two entrances in the front and in the back(near the parking lot). While I wouldn’t call myself a comic book geek today, I was one during my early teen years(but all the guys in middle school are, right?). I go here when i actually hear about a comic or graphic novel that people rave about. When they re-introduced the Ninja Turtles comic books in 2003, I was there. When I wanted to find some old back issues of X-men, I was there. When I wanted to waste an hour on a Saturday, I was there. They have a large selection of used comics, and sometimes have a deal(i.e. 5 back issues for $ 3) The store is packed with comics, both used and new, and also sells collectibles. The people manning the front desk are as friendly as comic book people can get. Anyone that has frequented a comic book or manga store knows what I mean. The clientele seems to be entirely geeky white male. Despite this, I’ve heard some rather in-depth discussions between the staff and customers about certain comic book plots. This is beyond a hobby for some. I think the only female I’ve seen in this place was my sister when we used to drag her there to check out the Barbie, Disney or Archie comics. If you’re in the area, stop in. Its not the biggest comic shop, but considering the size, it packs a lot in. Like other shops, they do special orders and are pretty good on delivering the merchandise on release date.
