Stopped by El Torero Mexican restaurant wasn’t sure about the place but here goes another review, rainy out and after lunch on a Saturday. Looked like a old Wendy’s that went out of business converted to a Mexican style. Looks like they had plenty staff at hand seated quickly and ordered a un-sweet tea which wasn’t bad at all chips were great, loved the little container of sauce they bring out pour your own, very tasty of course. Ordered the the Chimi Trio that comes with rice salad, guacamole. Side order of chicken taco, Food came all came out hot and well presented. I have to say the food was Very good for the price, and to tell you the truth I would of paid more it was so good. I have No complaints except that the waiter never came back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything, until it was bill time. That was the only down fall. Over all I would go back any day to eat there and recommend it anytime. I give it all stars, cause price and quality and over look the waiter problem, maybe it was just a off day for him. Great place, do it again for sure!

Excellent food, bright atmosphere, friendly staff. Nothing short of great here. Always have specials to choose from and the desert is out of this world. Only bad thing is rhe foods so good you overstuff yourself and end up with a belly ache.

The real deal! My go to mexican spot in Warren. Cinco De Mayo is coming and I will be there. Anything I have ever ordered here was great sometimes a little heavy on the queso but overall great place, great service, great prices and delicious food!

Food was average, nothing special, I’m pretty sure the sauces are canned and the tortillas are not homemade. Service was slow and we didn’t get refills on drinks because the waitress never came back to our table after the food was served except to deliver the check and the restaurant was not busy. They could do better.

This place has the best Mexican food in town! The service is almost always great, and the food is delicious. The prices are spot on with other Mexican restaurants in the area. I can never finish my plate because the portions are fairly large! Yum!!!

Food is okay at best. Service was horrible. The manager or owner sat in the booth behind me and conversed very loudly with a friend/guest at the table across from us. Speaking in Spanish only. My waiter only came once to my table after my meal was served. That was to give me the bill. The staff lounged around and would jump in the conversation going on behind me. I went to the other location in Cortland with a friend at a later date. Service was the same there. Our waitress was good, but was made to do everything while the manager and others sat at the bar and did nothing to help. When I was paying for my bill, I had asked for a bag for the boxes of my leftovers. There were three people standing doing nothing at the bar and made our waitress come from the back and get a bag. Never going there again.

Very good food, can’t go wrong at El Torrero. Reasonable prices, good service — best chile rellenos I’ve ever had.

My mom & I went here for lunch today & oh my taste buds were very VERY happy!!! Yummy!!! Claudia was our server & she’s AWESOME! I think I’ll be making weekly trips to parents house so my mom & I can go here for lunch!!! I highly recommend the chicken nachos for appetizer & the fajitas burrito(I had steak) & my mom had the lunch fajitas! Oh I can’t wait to head back!

Surprisingly delicious and quality food here. I didn’t expect more than the standard fare when we got here, but was very impressed. The special hot salsa was great, the chorizo was full of flavor, and the fajitas were beyond your mediocre experience. Totally recommend it if you’re in the area.

If I won the lottery, I’d open an El Torero in every state. From the minute you walk in, it’s like a fiesta. Colorful tables and chairs and the scent of Mexican deliciousness! From start to finish, we loved our lunch! When it comes to food, it takes a lot to impress me. The prices were insanely inexpensive, generous portions and flavors were out of this world! Salsa was bomb, Spanish rice to die for, tamales were rockin, service was good. Add some of their bottled green habañero hot sauce to your salsa and food… MONEY! Lunch for 4 of us totalled $ 21. Highly recommended.

Excellent lunch with my wife. I had The chicken and steak fajitas and my wife had the shrimp fajitas. We had the lunch portion and the portions were so big we had enough for lunch the next day. Food was great waitstaff was decent and the restaurant was fairly clean.

Favorite Mexican restaurant around! Been going here with my family for years now. We have been to other ones but there is nothing like here. The food is perfect! And the people here are so friendly and sweet. I love it!

Price is right. Huge portions. In my opinion the best Mexican stop in the county. Chili Releno like nowhere else I have been except Mexico. I am not sure what AP stands for in the AP Special. But it is AWSOME. By all means, if you in the mood for good Mexican, this is where you you should go!

Typical Mexican restaurant with great service and good food. Pollo Fundido, pollo Fundido, pollo Fundido! Omg, chicken cheese and churitzo. When in Cortland, I’ll be back.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I go there every Friday for lunch. Best rice I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Great Patio for the summer time and friendly staff year round.

The food is good here. The service is nice, friendly, and attentive. No complaints from me. But the thing these guys do better than any other Mexican restaurant in the area is the Chile Relleno. Every other place I’ve ever had the Rellano uses a batter that tastes overly-eggy. And that’s just not appealing when you try to eat it. But El Torero’s Relleno makes a great, light batter that’s not eggy at all. And it’s LOADED with melty cheese. Delicious!

I enjoy this place a lot. It’s falsely classified as «Mexican» as opposed to «Mexican-American» food. We need more Mexican food places. Nevertheless, this place has great drinks and greatly-priced food. Also has good service.

I recently have moved here from California and tonight was craving some Mexican food. Now, from the Central Valley of California, I feel that nothing can beat Bobby Salazar’s(a local chain). However, I was pleasantly surprised. My wife had the chimichanga plate and I had enchilada platter. Both were very tasty, however, seemed to be lacking some quality I haven’t quite placed my finger or palate upon. The price was very reasonable and the chips they delivered with dinner were very tasty and not too salty. The portions were large and we brought home enough to enjoy it for lunch tomorrow.

I’m definitely a fan of this place. I’m hispanic so I’m used to a different style of cooking and while it’s not my mom’s cooking it is very good. My absolute favorite is their white cheese dip for their chips and their chicken nachos. AWESOME! After that they have the Warren Special which is chicken AND steak with rice, beans, pico de gallo, and tortillas. Pricier at close to $ 10 but hey it’s steak. The only thing I ever ate there that I hated(and I like Taco Bell’s better) was their tacos! Absolutely disgusting, flavorless, and the beef looked like grayish canned dog food. But one bad dish won’t change my stand on this place! Oh as for the waiters/waitresses…they are nice enough. When I first started going I overheard them talking about me in Spanish… they are more careful now that they know I understand them HAHA.

Once again, I am writing a review for… you guessed it… a Mexican joint! And as I have said in the past, my wife loves Mexican food. This particular day we chose to do take out rather than dine in. I have to say that I enjoyed my meal which consisted of 2-beef burritos, 1-beef taco, rice and re-fried beans. The price-$ 7.25 I enjoyed it all. The seasoning that I tend to despise was not heavily present in the beef which may turn true Mexican food lovers off. The beans were OK and the rice could have used more flavor. My wife had the shrimp chimichanga which also came with the rice and re-fried beans. The price-$ 9.00. This is what she always orders when we go here. It must be good. As you can see, the prices are very reasonable. The service when we have dined inside in the past was always friendly and overall a pleasant experience. Parking is ample and it is kid friendly too.
