I visited this restaurant recently for dinner. Although it is a tapas place I had an entrée. The décor is warm and inviting. The wait staff was also very knowledgable and friendly. I think the chef was even making his rounds which I really respect. I had the chicken paprikash special with spätzle which was amazing. My date had the hanger steak which she also enjoyed. The bar is also lively and the bartenders and friendly and interactive. They have a lot of German beers on tap which is always a plus. All in all this is a great place to go in the Hopewell Junction area to enjoy a meal.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s fine, but nothing special. The tapas are pretty small so even if you have 3 or 4, you might not be full and you’ve paid the same price you might pay for an entrée. The best part about this place is the drinks. They have inventive cocktails and a decent wine list. I’d recommend going here for drinks and maybe a bite or two, but not for dinner, and not if you’re pretty hungry. The atmosphere is certainly nice, and friendly service, but I just can’t really get behind the food. It’s good but not great.

The food was great! I’ve been here plenty of times. For 3 people, we shared about 8 of the tapas plates, all which I enjoyed. The marinated steak, and parmesan truffle fries were my favorite. However, the service took quite a while, which is why I only gave 3 stars. I hate waiting 15 minutes for a new drink to arrive. The waitress told us that there was only 1 bartender on tonight, but this was a friday night and the bar seating was full. I would of ordered more than 2 drinks if they had been quicker, but it seems that with such low staff that they want to lose money.

A pretty great place but always ends up being very expensive for what feels like not a lot of food. Décor and ambience is great for date night and their new(not so new) bar is really fantastic. I’ve been here twice and each time the fold has been stellar. It’s a unique menu and concept and the only downside is that you want to try everything and can end up spending more money than you planned. The empanadas, rice balls, ham and cheese, salads, steak, oyster Rockefeller were excellent. Only thing I wasn’t too fond of was the chorizo paella but that may just be because I love chorizo in small quantities. Definitely a place to try at least once.

This was my first visit to a tapas restaurant, so I didn’t know what to expect. The tapas portions are barely one or two bites. Tasty — but gets pricey fast. Barely enough to even share a small taste. $ 8 crab cake was good but one or two bites max. Service was awesome. Our waitress couldn’t have been better. Two man band in the bar is ok — mostly standard pop tunes from the 50’s to the 70’s. Might try here again for dinner instead of tapas.

The food here is sub-par, it’s just another local place trying to be something it’s not. It feels sophisticated when you walk in, but the food is gross and off-point, not worth the money. Obvious the staff has never eaten at a nice restaurant themselves so have no point of reference for what a dining experience should be like. Don’t waste your time or money.

Wanting to take my dearest friend Cat to a nice place in honour of her 50th upon my arrival in New York from Chicago, I sought online for one nearest her place in Stormville. I quickly realised that she lives so off the grid that attempting driving directions from hers to Tomas Tapas proved nearly impossible. Impossible, that is, until I rang the restaurant and spoke with the lovely Deanna. This darling not only emailed me three different ways to get there, but also the link to the site she had so thoughtfully found to get these options. She was beyond helpful and kind on the phone, not to mention patient. I was pleasantly relieved to see that this was the m.o. of the entire staff! Our server Devin was thoroughly helpful and skilled, and Tomas made a special point of coming out to our table. He was very sweet. They were very accommodating of my service dog, as well. The sangria was delicious equal to the food, and I will return here upon my next visit to Wappingers Falls. I know I made a fan out of Cat for the place, too, as she couldn’t stop raving about the place and talking about who she wants to take there!

Fantastic place. Great ambiance, fantastic food, and an excellent wine list. The Menu — You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. There is everything from wonderful garlic shrimp and grilled steak to plates of cheese and meats along with fantastic fruit preserves. The service is wonderful. A must stop in the Wappingers area

It’s a small place, but very nice. We ordered some drinks and a bunch of the tapas including the Serrano ham, baby spinach arancini, and the Creole shrimp bruschetta, before finishing it off with the paella entrée. Our server was friendly and was happy to talk with us and answer all our questions about the food. And of course, everything we ate was excellent. It can get pricey, but it’s well worth it.
