Let me start by saying I love A C Moore. I spend lots of money there on my baking supplies and have started buying lots of gifts there because the art kits and their Melissa and Doug merchandise. This review reflects a clerk who was working around the floral/ribbon desk. I came in specifically looking for fall sprinkles and ribbon colors for an edible wreath I was making the week before Thanksgiving. I asked her for help finding a ribbon. She was very short with me and said, ‘Can you hold on, I have finish on the phone and then I can help you. It wasn’t what she said it was how she said it. I understand it’s busy but that’s no reason to show frustration to the customer. I have worked in retail in the past and from my experience as long as you explain yourself and don’t act short/hasty with people, people are understanding that it is the holiday season and it is busy. Long story short she got off the phone and I asked her for fall colored ribbons/sprinkles. She said we packed up all of the fall stuff yesterday. It’s all in the back and the Christmas stuff is out. Okay, that’s fine. But what got me is that she didn’t even suggest another ribbon or anything else. She just turned around and went back to whatever she was doing. Her main objective seemed to talk to me as little as possible. So I looked around, found some yellow and orange ribbon and left. If it wasn’t for that experience I would definitely give 5 stars!

I was very disappointed going to this store. It was hard to find the items I was looking for. The manager said she would help me but never came back. She nor any of the staff are personable and helpful. Wait there was one guy in the store that actually smiled and was helpful. I felt like I was there waiting their time. Not a smile on anyone’s face. Do not go here if you can help it. try to find another place.

The clerks never seem to know where things are in the store and aren’t very nice. Once as I was in line to check out, as I got to my turn, the register clerk left. Never said a word. Just left. I stood there awhile and finally asked the other check-out lady where my person was. She said«Oh, she’s gone to help a customer.» to which I replied«So what am I. How long will she be?» She replied, «She’ll be back when she’s done.» I didn’t wait to find out when that was. This is the attitude I have found in everyone who works there. And never go there if you’re in a hurry. Check-out time is catch-up time. I’ve waited while the person at the register and a customer who was checking out had a long conversation about the local school that both had children in. It’s not a customer-centered store.

Nice store. Great seasonal items which are a bit too pricy for me being that I can gets the same thing in the Dollar Tree.(Valentines Day merchandise is all on sale for 60% off). I came in looking for fabric but apparently they don’t have a large selection.(I need a JoAnn’s!)

I am sorry… but I never find what I need here… I am making a blankie for our next new arrival and cannot find the yarn product they have available online. I want to see and feel this before I buy. No one there to help and from the back of the store I know the story of someones daughter enitre divorce drama.(poor thing). SO I will venture to a smaller more costly spot to get just ‘the right thing’. No Moore 4 me!

For years, AC Moore was THE place to get all my art supplies in the area. It was always well-stocked, low-priced, clean, organized, and staffed with helpful workers. It was always very inspiring in that I would wander around getting ideas just by looking at some of the stuff in there. I would go in to just pick up one item like a small bottle of paint or a pack of Sculpey and I’d come out with 5 more things and more projects to add to my to-do list. Lately though, AC Moore has been a bit lacking… not sure why. Maybe the competition from Michaels and the newly opened Hobby Lobby? The selection and prices haven’t been as great… in fact, the last few times I went in, I came out empty handed as they either didn’t even have what I was looking for, or the price seemed a bit high(only to find the same items at one of the other 2 places). I haven’t written them off yet(mainly because they were my reliable art and craft supplier for years, and the fact that I live closest to them) but my expectations have lowered a bit. At least I have the other 2 stores as options if I can’t find stuff here.
