Phil’s of Wantagh Rocks! They are down the block from another known pizza place that has taken a dump yet people continue to go there. Phil’s of Wantagh has awesome food, delivery is always fast and the staff is nice and never rush you.

decided to try the wantagh outpost of phil’s since the beloved massapequa location doesn’t deliver… sad to report that while this location might deliver food, they don’t even come close to delivering flavor or a quality product, especially when compared to the massapequa store — it’s amazing to me how different and how much worse the food was here, and it’s not like i ordered items i haven’t tried before… in fact, i ordered some of my favorites from the other store: the eggplant parm wasn’t even close, and the vodka sauce i requested on my pasta was all runny grease, doesn’t hold a candle to the original… wifey was equally disappointed in her chicken verde… bottomline — don’t be lazy, go to the massapequa store if you want the phil’s you hear people raving about, at the wantagh outpost you’ll be sorely disappointed just like we were

The BEST pizza on Long Island. I love Phil’s Pizziera! Their food is excellent also. I will never go anywhere else. There absolutely nothing on the menu that I have tried and didn’t like. Great Place you have to try it!

If you are ever visiting Jones Beach, do yourself a favor and visit Phil’s Pizza. Next to Wooster Street in New Haven, this is the BEST pizza I’ve ever had! No kidding. The sauce is sweet and they have over 28 different kinds to choose from. You will definitely find your favorite here in Long Island. PS the owner is a True Italian & the place is immaculate. 5 stars all the way!

Fabulous specialty pies. They make a grilled chicken cesar slice that is practically a meal by itself. The chicken bacon ranch slice is super tasty and filling. They also make numerous pasta variations on pizza. …my favorite being the ravioli slice(which is a great option on Fridays during lent). Their regular pizza is also really good as are their chicken and sausage rolls. I’m slowly working this place into my regular rotation. Give it a try… no one I’ve ever taken there has disliked it. Staff is fast and friendly.

Had a pizza delivered to my house. I like garlic in my sauce but this had so much garlic in it, I was getting heartburn just smelling the pie. We ate half because we were starving and then dumped the other half in the garbage. Go elsewhere.

Shenanigans… I spent over $ 50.00 one visit and they gave me a free $ 10.00 gift certificate; When I returned with my kids to use the«Gift Certificate» the following ensued after ordering 4 slices, drinks, and some Italian Ices: Me: I have this gift certificate Counter Guy: That’s for Dining Room only Me: We are staying Counter Guy: No, you have to sit down and order, it can’t be used at the«pizza counter» Me: Okay, I can do that Counter Guy: You have to order off the menu Me: Okay, you don’t have pizza on the menu? Counter Guy: No, it can only be used on Entrees Me: Let’s go to Spasso’s (We actually ended up at Tarallo’s since Spasso’s doesn’t have Italian Ices) You would have had a better chance of retaining a new customer if you didn’t give out the«gift certificate» in the first place; If you are going to give them out, honor them, don’t play games and add restrictions that are not printed on them. In case anyone still cares how the food is: The pizza is inoffensive, it’s not really good, but it’s close to home, so it’s usually good enough. Delivery is hit or miss, out of 4 deliveries 2 were good, 1 was nearly raw, and 1 was burnt & cold. I would have given 2 stars for food alone(Could have been higher if I had been a customer long enough to try their other offerings), but had to deduct one for the gift certificate games…

Grabbed a quick Sicilian last night, awesome! Service was also very good. They have a great Monday pasta special that I will be stopping in for!

I was always a fan of Phil’s in Massapequa and so I was happy to see a new location. I always enjoyed there specialty pizzas as well. I tried their Grandma and must say I had a nice size slice and it was really good. Service was friendly and the place is nice and new and very clean. I had no problems here and would definitely go back, I hope they do well in this new location!

Nice addition to the Wantagh neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and even hooked me up with a specialty slice I was admiring in the display case. Phil’s thing is their specialty pizzas and I have always been a fan at all their other locations. Here I tried the eggplant rollatini pizza which was excellent, the fried eggplant was complimented by huge dollops of fresh ricotta cheese. We also tried a cheese pie which was very good. My fave was oddly not a pizza at all but their surprisingly fantastic chicken parm hero. Not only was the hero delicious, but I was really impressed at the sturdy cardboard box it comes in. Most places just wrap them in foil which the mozzarella always sticks to and makes a mess. They have plenty of parking and a decent size seating area. Looking forward to coming back again!

Phil’s has taken over the site of another pizza place. Although we liked the previous restaurant, Phil’s is much better. I absolutely loved my buffalo chicken pizza. We will be back.

I have never been to Sicily so I am not sure what a traditional Sicilian pizza looks or tastes like. However, as a life long New Yorker, I know that a true NY style Sicilian pizza has 12 slices of thick, square goodness. Anything less in insulting. At Phil’s they offer a 10 slice Sicilian pie. I repeat… 10 slices. Not cool Phil. When I ordered I didn’t know that, so needless to say, I felt short changed. The taste was good– cheesier than most, and certainly very edible but nothing really separating it from the rest. The regular pie was also pretty good. As for the place, it is nice and clean. They do offer a lot of specialty slices. Presentation looked good. All in all, it was a god place… just be aware of that Sicilian.

Wanted to give this place a try since it recently took over the location where sapporitos used to be. I always like to get a regular slice to gauge how the sauce and cheese is. It was average, nothing spectacular. I also had a grandma slice which was ok. If your in the area def drive a half mile a way to Umbertos, which is one of the best on the island.

Phil’s has expanded to Wantagh, which is good news. Sure, there are already at least a half dozen decent pizza joints in Wantagh, and at least that many crappy ones, but there is something about the way Phil’s does things that I absolutely love. Without getting too deep into it, the pizza is above average, the staff is always fast and friendly and the pasta dishes are an excellent value. We ordered delivery a couple weeks ago. I had never gotten a hero from any of the phil’s locations before, but we got a couple chicken parms. Above average for sure. The main thing that I look for in a pizzeria is CONSISTENCY, and Phil’s always comes through. Welcome to the neighborhood, you will fit in nicely. Oh, also, it is right on the corner near wantagh high school, I hope they are able to cater to the school lunch crowd. Developing a good rapport with the kids always gets the parents in the door. Best of luck!
