What a gem! I had the shrimp & Grits-outstanding. My husband had the Jambalaya and said it was the best he ever had. The service was exceptional. We will be back very soon.

Only been here 2x so far but each time everything I or my other guests ordered was amazing and the service was great. Crawfish bites, Crawfish boil, steak, gumbo, a quinoa dish that was unexpectedly amazing… all delicious. Not that busy when I come here tho and I’m not sure why cause the food is great and the bar area is cool. Dining area looks a bit dated though I guess.

We had a wonderful dinner after being warmly greeted by the owner Mike and our lovely server Nickeisha. Everything from the incredible stuffed avocado to the Pasta Vongole, Jambalaya and Shrimp and Grits were incredibly tasty and prepared perfectly. I am looking forward to returning so I can further sample their excellent menu and cocktails. It should be noted that their craft beer selection is one of the best in the area!

Not sure what all the hype is about. The restaurant was practically empty when we went and the food was… blah. The ribs tasted like they’ve been sitting around for a while. The rice dish was bland. Definitely expected better especially after reading great reviews.

What a great find! Found this restaurant through Unilocal. Was looking for something different and drive up to wantage for some Cajun/creole food. I’ve been working for years on my own etoufee and have been meaning to make it but found that it’s on the menu here ! It was fantastic! The crawfish chowder was so tasty! Service was friendly. And so was the owner. It was about a 35 minute drive and so worth it. Will definitely be back !

Celine ’ s does NOLA food justice! Tried the blackened shrimp over grits, and it was just perfect. Spicy, super fresh shrimp over real deal grits. Buttery and creamy, authentic. Also, the shrimp Po boys were the closest thing to New Orleans we’ve tasted since our trip to the crescent city. The owner is endearing and personable. He even came over to our table to make sure everything was perfect. They do have italian and American items on the menu but I didn’t try them. This made me nervous! Sometimes a scattered menu can mean doom!.. However, I was quite pleased with the Southern fare that we ordered. so I recommend sticking to what they do best!!! Defiantly will return.

We went her with a party of 12. The food was good but we were a little disappointed that it wasn’t true Cajun/creole. I would describe the food as cajun/italian fusion. The service was fast and friendly. The place has more of a bar/grill vibe than a high end restaurant. Not a bad experience but not what we were expecting either.

Great service, friendly staff, good food! The hours on Unilocal are for the bar downstairs, this review is for the restaurant upstairs which closes at 10pm. We walked in at 9:40pm and were quickly seated. We were the only ones in the place and it felt like they were closing. Turns out they were closing at 10pm so we decided we would place a to-go order. Rachel, our waitress, insisted that we stay and we’re glad we did. We started with the meatballs appetizer, I had the chicken parmesan and she had the chicken marsala. Both were very good and decent sized meals. We took back a cheese tortellini carbonara for my brother and he reported it was really good, it has bacon! I wanted to come back for the Cajun food but with limited time we never made it.

Good was Excellent! Breaded Fried Pork chop with mushroom sauce was fantastic! We will definitely come back. Our waitress Rachel was so sweet! I ordered my dish based upon her recommendation as it is not a dish I would normally order, and I loved it it was fabulous!

We just had dinner here and must say were very pleased. Large portion of the menu was Cajun. My wife decided on the Shrimp Ettouffe which she said was delicious, mild and tasty. I chose blackened Tuna steak which was cooked to perfection, excellent flavor and just the right amount of heat. Our sever Rachel was very helpful, and we were given all the time we needed to enjoy our meal. Excellent experience. We will definately be returning often. And here is a major bonus… much of their menu is either gluten free ar can be made so. And each meal is made fresh to order… so you may need to put an additional patience if they are busy. We also found out the have a comedy club too…

It is always so great to find a good local restaurant especially in a rural county like Sussex. It’s always a problem dining out with one of my daughters because she is not an adventurous eater. The menu at Celine’s is perfect because while it specializes in Cajun/Creole dishes, it also has a section of American and Italian food which is probably a smart move by the owner. The owner himself greeted us and also seated us. He was friendly and came over a few times to check on us. In an effort to be healthy, I ordered the Vegetable Quinoa. When I first tasted it, I thought I had gone overboard on trying to be healthy because it didn’t look or taste as yummy as my husband’s jambalaya or my other daughter’s shrimp & grits. But after I mixed it all up — oh, how tasty it was! — it was in a coconut broth and just sooo good. It was a large portion and I knew I should have taken half home but I.Could.Not.Stop.Eating.It. I also tasted the Shrimp & Grits and it too was delicious. My husband said his dish was good as well.(The other daughter just ordered an appetizer which she couldn’t finish.) I also had a cup of soup which was some kind of root vegetable — delicious! I absolutely can not wait to go here again. The menu is fabulous and I recommend trying it.

Finally a great place to eat in Sussex. We have been here several times now and just about everything has beed great. Ribeye and NY strip are both good and cooked exactly how we ordered them. Avocado and spinach dip was awesome. The Turducken is a must try incredible. Mike the owner is a great guy and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. They struggled with the waiting staff at first but seem to have it nailed now. The cajun food is all great as authentic as it gets this place is a must try.

Went to Celine’s with the family. We had some great food at a reasonable price. We met Mike the owner who is a very nice guy. I had the ribs in red gravy and my son had the BBQ ribs where the meat just fell off the bone. They were great! The sweet potatoes were like none that i’ve ever tasted, amazing. The Baked Alaska dessert was a picture to just look at. Go there and you wont be disappointed.

Please eat here. I need this place to stay open, I’m tired of driving 40 minutes for good food, which this place has. Really great food and really great service. We had the Creole shrimp, jambalaya, and beignets. All were awesome.

My boyfriend and I went here Sunday night and our meals were delicious. He had the salmon which he said was the best piece of salmon he had had out in a long time. I had the chicken franchise which was delicious also and the mashed potatoes and green beans we’re the best I’ve had in a while and I’m picky. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was our waiter and he was not too knowledgeable about the menu but he was very nice. We will definitely be back. Finally somewhere different and good to eat around here!

Was out of town visiting and wanted to eat some good food. We were starving and immediately ordered the wings, stuffed avocado and onion petals. We were informed that they were out of the onion. Ok no biggie. The good: The stuffed avocado with shrimp was spectacular and fresh. The wings were good. They were not greasy and perfectly crispy. Main course was étouffée and jambalaya and breaded pork chop. All were perfect and tasty. The bad: after not having the onion petal appetizer, upon ordering our main course they didn’t have the ribs which is what we had ordered initially. It is just annoying because it was early in the evening, however I am glad that everything that we did order was so fresh and delicious. The other bit of polish that this place needs is so minor but important. The ambiance: it was SO bright in the dining room. A dimming switch and maybe some candles on the table would be great additions. Also it was eerily quiet in the dining room. There were three tables and we could hear each other. The music was only on by the bar area where you first walk in. Some music where the guests actually sit would be nice. We would go back for sure because the food was worth it!

Good étouffée and beignets but they need to work on customer service. They also need to decide if they are a Cajun restaurant, an Italian restaurant, or a sports bar. My suggestion would be to focus on Cajun food and on customer service. Even though the food was excellent, I can’t give more than three stars due to the poor service. There is a need for a good niche restaurant in this area. Opportunity is knocking. Please answer the door!

Wow, we finally have a decent new restaurant in our backyard. Cajun food in Sussex County, NJ? Who knew? The menu is filled with Louisiana staples like gumbo, po boys and jambalaya. It’s a nice change of pace, and the food was awesome. For starters, I had the baked avocado with shrimp which was amazing. I ate it so fast, I forgot to dip the tortilla chips in it! I had the crawfish boil for $ 14.00 which includes a pound of crawdads, potatoes and corn on the cob. The value was very good. For dessert, I had the bananas foster which is one of my all time favorites, and they made it to perfection. Our server, Donna, was very nice and professional. The owner, Mike, stopped by our table as well to make sure I knew how to eat crawdaddys. All in all, we had a great time at Celines, and will be back again soon.

After two more visits the wings are consistently good! Yes! Unfortunately the blue cheese I was originally pleased with has changed into crappy prefab blue cheese. Either the ‘good’ one I had the first time was a fluke or this yucky one was the fluke. Time will tell I guess. Manicotti and meatballs were great and the crawfish boil was also yummy with a nice amount of spicy seasoning, possibly too hot for some. Breaded pork chop was very tasty but a bit dry. For the price I would have liked to see a thicker cut and a little less cooked. Next time I’ll try requesting the pork cooked to medium and see if it makes a difference. Judging by the amount of elderly people that were in the restaurant at the time that we were there, it might be a safe assumption that the general clientele is still of the mindset that the only way to eat pork is well done. So I’ll keep an open mind and give it another chance.
