I’ve been visiting Markowitz for various medical situations for maybe 10 years. I first went to him after I became dissatisfied with the dermatology treatment I’d been receiving at a nearby clinic/hospital in Burlington. Yes, they’re still using typewriters(although I saw some evidence of computers today) and some of the equipment is old. But Markowitz has both an excellent«bedside manner» and knowledge of dermatology. He is able to recognize issues and he provides good treatment. You don’t feel rushed as he takes the time to explain things and make sure you understand them. Perhaps I should say that I don’t like him and make up something, so that you’ll avoid him and it won’t be so hard to get in to see him. His is a busy office and you should be prepared to wait past your scheduled time to see him; but this is because he spends the time necessary to talk to you and so you do not feel rushed. It is worth the wait(FYI I was able to connect to Internet in his waiting room). I would go back to him for future issues; and I have been doing this. While accept only checks(no credit or debit cards), they also accept many health insurance plans. To S. C, if Markowitz recommended soap and water then he feels that you don’t need to spend any more money to solve the problem. I don’t think he’s staying in the business to make a whole lot of money(hence the simplistic, old school treatment), I think he’s staying around because he’s good and he likes what he does. I have gone to a «more advanced» facility – in Burlington – and I’ve found them lacking and won’t go back for skin matters.

Dr. Marcowitz is a very rude and ignorant old man that should retire. He treats you like you’re stupid and makes you feel like you don’t know what you’re talking about. I will never go there EVER again. What a waste of my time. The only thing I liked there was his receptionist. She was really nice. Other than that, I recommend going somewhere else!

Be prepared that when you walk in, it’ll be a trip back to the 60’s where the office is still using typewriters, old filing cabinets full of papers and clutter. The place does NOT accept credit cards, and the ONLY form of payment is cash or check. I went in for acne treatment and was told the old school method of using soap and water to treat it. The doctor himself is very nice– yes, definitely sarcastic, but he is very informative and experienced in his field. His treatment is a bit traditional and old school, so if you’re looking for something more advanced, this is not the place.

he is the best. very professional, great personality. Once he helped you and you’ll never see another specialist-dermatologist.

Wow! This guy is truly different. I’d brought my wife to two typical dermatologists before and they were so similar — heavily programmed by the modern health-care business in that they seem to ask, suggest, or know nothing about dietary or environmental factors in health(which is most of it, IMO) and they go straight for the latest standard fancy pharmaceutical snake oil drugs, which are typically harsh and do not work. Dr. Markowitz is quite old, and everything in his suite is old(furniture and knick-knacks from ages past). He came recommended by a host of friends as a «miracle worker.» Not only is he extremely jovial and funny, but he’s confident in what he’s talking about, humble at the same time, and seemingly has an encyclopedic knowledge of his specialty at the beck and call of his neurons. He seems to reject most of what modern dermatologists suggest for their patients. He asks a lot of questions, gives a lot of answers, and quizzes you to ensure you understand what’s going on. He paid special attention to dietary and environmental factors in the condition and recovery, and the results were the best I’d ever seen. The only drawback is that his appointment schedule seems to fall behind and the wait can be long if you’re not scheduled in the morning. He’s a very impressive guy and highly recommended.
