I really couldn’t be more excited to work with such talented artists. The instructors are talented, well studied and such a pleasure. I am taking a 9wk long jewelry class with Avery, and just after the first class I feel like I know so much. I also took a clay metal weekend workshop with Miki(sp) she was wonderful. I will keep a special eye out for her clay matals classes. There is a glow about people who are in the midst of the creative process, that glow is at Metalwerx.

I began taking classes and making jewelry in 1985 and was thrilled when Metalwerx opened their school close to me in 1998. I’ve taken countless weekly classes and workshops since then. I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. The studio is very well equipped and the staff make sure that the studio has the latest equipment and supplies and in adequate quantity for class size. The permanent instructors are the best. Visiting teachers(experts in their particular areas) from all over the country give many of the one to five day workshops. They make a real effort to always develop new classes to keep the offerings fresh even for someone like me – never same old same old. Whatever your level — a complete newbie, an expert, just want to learn a new technique or improve on one — Metalwerx is a great place to go.

I just taught a flatware class at Metalwerx and must say that it’s my favorite place to give a workshop. The studio is top notch, students are curious and passionate, and staff is organized and friendly. What more could I ask? Everyone made great work, inspiring!

I always wanted to take a jewelry making class and finally enrolled in an evening class here. I was hopeless at jewelry making, but I really tried. This class helped me realize that I am a 2-D person — sawing and soldering are not my think. That being said, I really tried hard and was very motivated to make something. I melted a few bezels. The teacher barely gave me the time of day, but the teaching assistant took pity on me and gave me some extra help. They never asked for feedback on the experience. I haven’t been back since, but for the right person it might be an amazing experience.
