The worst bbq all you can eat ever. Kimchi is ovver ripe and disgusting. The rice wrapper is so hard, can’t be use as a wrapper. Takes 15 minutes to get an order. Only one server for the whole restaurant. Bathroom has no soap and paper towels. I wouldn’t ccome back eventhough someone invites me there

This place had the worst service ever! It was already hard enough that they didn’t speak great English but certain food requests aren’t that difficult. For a Saturday night at 7:30pm it was pretty empty. It would take couple of requests before we had our side dishes replaced. The steamed egg came out 30 mins later, after another reminder. As for the side dishes the rice papers were tougher and tasted like they’ve been left out, the Kim Chi wasn’t spicy and they were stingy on how much was given per side dishes! Never going back again!

We got the $ 19.99AYCE option. The main difference between the 19.99 and the 16.99 is Galbi(short ribs). The meat was okay. The temperature of our grill was weird. If you set it on the highest, the brisket burns too fast, but if you set it on the one below it, it feels like it takes too long. Service was decent, but one of the waitress had extremely limited English. It was a good thing I was there to translate. There was no wait on a weekday at around 8, which is good. Overall it is a standard Kbbq. It wasn’t the cheapest or the most expensive. It didn’t have the best meat, but no one got sick. We got a good amount of attention from 3 different servers, and they cut and turned our meat for us, but it was dead quiet which makes me question the freshness of the meat.

One of my favorite Korean BBQ! That’s saying a lot since I’ve been to countless Korean BBQ places. Ka Hwa has excellent quality meat, the best side dishes, and very very good service. I usually get the combo c package with brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, galbi, cow tongue etc. It’s a perfect amount of food for two people or even a group. And the steamed egg and the tofu soup is the best you’ll find anywhere. Definitely a place to go for kbbq.

My review is limited to what was ordered for me. I avoid meat as much as possible but thats impossible when going to Korean bbq place. Their bulgogi and galbi are very good. But what attracts me to go to a Korean restaurant are the side dishes served as soon as you sit down. Side dishes vary by restaurant. Ka Wha is mostly kimchi but with some variation such as their potato salad and the greens. Also chap che. Next time go I will order exactly what I want to try such as their bibimpop or hot soup. Thats when I’ll gage their cooking. Overall, a good experience.

I guess I can’t really complain too much knowing you get what you pay for BUT: We got the all you can eat C combo with the better meats(compared to the A). They brought out an ENORMOUS platter of the cheap stuff and when we said we would like to move on to the better stuff the waitress grabbed whatever meat was left on the platter with tongs, scoffed and yelled something in korean to the owner. We were getting full with the crappy meat and wanted what we paid for! In the end they did bring out the better meat but the plate was a tiny compared to the other platter. I never expect good service at a korean place but really?! Never going back! The food was nothing special anyway.

This is in Diamond Bar! Aww… My old hood. So came here for my friend’s birthday. It’s the kind you cook yourself. I hate those places… not that it doesn’t taste good or anything… I just don’t believe in paying to cook. I want someone to cook it for me if I’m paying for a meal. :P My two cents. But anyways… FOOD: All You Can Eat C Option — $ 19.99 I can only eat pork and chicken. They do not have seafood YET. Favorites: Spicy Pork Not favorites: Chicken — Chicken takes a LONG time to cool. You can request a tofu soup or egg soup — I got a tofu soup bc I LOVETOFUSOUP. You get a salad as well. BANCHAN: * Octopus as a banchan — YES! I ordered SO much too. Mmmm * MacSalad — Mmmmmm so bad yet so good * Radish(Request it) — good with meal * Rice soup at the end * Watermelon at the end for free SERVICE: We met some Korean American servers which was good because no one in my party speaks Korean. So, we got the stuff we wanted. Ryan was SO helpful! He would bring me stuff and he even told me my pork was undercooked and showed me how to tell it’s cooked.(I have to admit — I WASHUNGRY and WAITING to cook… this is why I like cooked places). But he was really helpful and even cooked some stuff for me. Awesome. Ryan was awesome! Thanks for cooking it for me! AMBIANCE: Good ventilation — I did not smell like KBBQ. They have some TVs. PARKING: Tons — empty free lot OVERALL: Not bad.

sometimes you just need to see some meat sizzle on a grill. it’s the cave(wo)man in you. what i ate: — fixed combo for 2(i forgot the name for this), comes with 3 types of meat, 1 beer or soju, soup. i believe it was $ 50. the owner talked us out of getting AYCE — it was close to closing, and he said we wouldnt be getting our moneys worth. i also wanted better quality meat and beer. pros: — meat was fairly tender, but not the best i’ve had. it was just okay. can’t speak for the AYCE meat — service: since we came in at 9pm, there was only about one other party, and one server. she ran between us two, so while service wasnt perfect, for an asian place it wasnt too bad. — décor: i do like the décor of ka hwa better than most kbbq places. the tables and seats seem more private and nicer — price: typical. not too expensive cons: — nothing really but … overall the meal was just mediocre. while it fulfilled my kbbq craving, it wasn’t the best kbbq experience. would i come again? … maybe.

For dinner, they have 3 options for ayce — $ 16.99 — $ 19.99. $ 20 includes everything they have. For $ 20, it’s okay. I was disappointed by the short rib meat. It’s not really marinated(just a little pepper maybe), but it’s cut up into really small pieces(like less than 1 square inch). While it may cook faster, the little pieces can get dried out on the grill as well. Plus you have to flip and manage so many little pieces on the grill. Kalbi is usually marinated. But if it’s not, at least have a good quality cut and have it a decent size(at least 1″ x 2″). The brisket, beef tongue, and chicken were really good. The service was a little inconsistent. At times, you couldn’t find anyone(and they don’t have that little button on the table to signal that you wanted something). Other times, we had 2 servers come by 4 times in 2 minutes. However, I think they did okay with the service compared to other ayce kbb places. We noticed on a Sunday evening there weren’t that many people there. There’s a lot of competition for KBB in the area, so they gotta up their game if they want to fill their restaurant.

Came here for an early dinner at 5:30p. We were the only patrons for the longest time. GOOD: Some of their meats for the all you can eat bbq was good. We ordered the entry level choice. BAD: Service was slow. For having very few customers, we waited anything. More meats, or tea, and the check. They give very little rice paper, which actually can be a good thing so you can eat more meat, but since they don’t come around very often, it has hard to get more. The meat choices were only brisket, bulgogi, chicken and pork belly for the entry option. Quality was meh. I doubt I’ll ever come here again. FAV: Brisket and Bulgogi

They have all-you-can-eat BBQ now, it’s a bit more expensive compare to other all-you-can-eat places, they don’t have squid or shrimp selections, but they have very great spicy chicken, and all other meat are high qualitied! It is really worth $ 20 per person. Good Banchan varieties, I love the spicy marinated squid so much, always ask for more, ;p they serve hot soup before meal too. The quality of the meat is really good, but you can’t choose what you want the first time, they don’t give you short rib, spicy chicken, beef tongue or any more expensive meat, but you can choose as many as you want later… Well… for 2 ppl, if you still have room for more meat…;p Great place to have a PMS comfort meal with Soju and beer! We had 3 Hite, got pretty buzzed even with that much food. The service was good, friendly and attentive, they filled up our waters all the time. :)

20.00 for all you can eat and this is the kind where they serve you. There is also 2 other cheaper options I think at 18 and 16 dollars. The sixteen dollars one I think will be the one I would get next time, if I ever come back. It has four or five options. The one we got has everything, including tongue, intestines and boneless kalbi(which was why we tried this one) Brisket was good and they had spicy pork belly, which not a lot of places serve however, everything else mediocre. The panchan was an okay selection, and the chicken was pretty good. I consider that a filler though when I go to a KBBQ place. Sadly, the Boneless beef rib was way too peppery and was what we were looking to the whole time, so we were disappointed! I would probably go to one of the many more other places next time and not come back here. Kalbi is kind of an important one for me and for twenty dollars, to not have the bone in kind AND the boneless kalbi is almost unrecognizable is just not worth it for me.

This is the lowest rating I have ever given, which makes me sad to do. My husband and I went here on a whim because we were craving all you can eat korean bbq and this was the closest place with an A rating we could find. Atmosphere: It’s a cute place and I like their table setups a lot. Food: Pretty good. Some things were a little weird, but overall we liked the meat and the sauces. Service: Terrible unfortunately. We were getting great service when we first walked in because there was only one other couple inside. However, as they started to get busier the service went out the window. I understand that having two-three servers for an entire restaurant can be overwhelming, but when I have to wait 40 minutes for a water refill/more meat I feel that is obscene. Worst part was that she literally forgot about us and did not even look our way for 40 min. until I finally was able to make eye contact and nicely wave her over. Price: The food is good, but I have had korean bbq just as good if not better that was cheaper with better service. I wouldn’t recommend this place, at least not for dinner when there is a potential rush.

OHGOD… I came back here over the weekend expecting GREATNESS. What the hell happened???: — We had to wait? You’d think that with half the restaurant being empty, they’d be able to accommodate us. — Every single plate of meat was frozen(for at least a few weeks, it seemed like). This was the single biggest disappointment. Last time we were here, only a handful of the meats we ordered were frozen. UGH. Not only that, but they tasted awful. *flashbacks of Sam Han’s KBBQ* — They opted for small tea cups instead of big glasses(what they used to have) for their water. I don’t know how many times I had to ask for a refill. — Ventilation was non-existent this time. We came out smelling like burnt cow. — Oh and the egg dish still tastes like a bowl of water. — — — — — — — — — – The only upside was their service… oh and the salad. That is all. I don’t know if I can ever go back now. One single bad experience almost always kills it for me. Inconsistency is the cancer of any restaurant. How do you go from winning my heart to almost breaking it, all within a month? :[ DISAPPOINT.

Jayne L. pretty much sums up the review for this place. For an extensive review, read hers. I’m going to keep this simple and short. They serve other items besides the AYCE. This review is based ONLY on their AYCE. Best thing about this place is the attitude of the servers and how they keep asking if you need anything else. They’ll just glance at your table and bring water, sauce, garlic, etc. if you’re running on low. Despite how it can be a challenge to get their attention at times, service was great overall. Now to the meat. Ok Unilocalers. It’s AYCE. That means you don’t expect high quality! There is a reason WHY you get AYCE for $ 17.99 a person. Still, I’m used to K-town’s AYCE quality. It’s still not the best but at least I can expect the Chadol to be fresh and not rubbery. I only like to order the Chadol(brisket) and Samgyupssal(pork) at AYCE places. None of that marinated beef because those are the old meat that have been drenched in sauce to cover up the non freshness. I have heard this countless times from servers who actually worked at these restaurants. That being said, we were forced to order a 3rd item because their policy is to order 3 items in the beginning. That 3rd item was Bulgogi. I picked out the cooked bulgogi that was about an inch long. It tasted like beef jerky but had a very strong stale beef smell to it. I had a hard time swallowing this bulgogi. I’m sorry but they are really pushing that old meat a little too far. Time to throw it out!!! It was not edible. Here is what I liked: Raw Garlic(Love grilling it!) Salad(Dressing was really good!) Very ripe Kimchee(Only after I grilled it) Pork(You can’t go wrong with this!) Good Ventilation Clean environment Friendly service Jayne L. and I grew up eating good Korean food and AYCE Korean bbq’s. I wish we can support this business by giving them a better rating but that rubbery chadol and spoiled bulgogi makes it hard to give them anything more than 2 stars. Sorry Ka Hwa but until you serve more edible meats, we can’t possibly go back again!

My family has been coming here for a few years now, and both owner and manager provides the best service in town. Hands down! Before the main dishes are served, take a sample of the side dishes to get a glimpse of what the future holds. If the side dishes are delectable, you’re going to expect something above and beyond for the entrée course. You follow this rule of thumb and I can almost guarantee you that your party will have a wonderful experience. Ka Hwa knows this principle so expect something spectacular. Everything on their menu is exceptional so don’t be scared to try new dishes. I usually order dishes from their specialty menu, such as the spicy black cod fish and seafood pancake. The spicy black cod fish, or eun dae go jo rim, is simmered cod fish and daikon radish in their hot and spicy sauce. Drool! Make sure you order this ahead of time as it takes a long time to prepare. The seafood pancake, or hae mul pa jeon, is Korean-style pancake with an assortment of seafood and vegetables. Amazing! Ka Hwa now has an all you can eat menu so let the festivities begin!

This is some pretty excellent quality Korean BBQ! I approve! Before eating here, I’d only eaten at all-you-can-eat grill-your-own-meat KBBQ places, which are definitely still enjoyable because I mean, who can complain about unlimited food, right? But anyway, there is something to be said for quality over quantity. This place is not all-you-can-eat, but it completely makes up for that by delivering in terms of quality of meats. We ordered one of the combo meals for about $ 40, which feeds two people and comes with a variety of meats and lots of banchan. I was very pleased with the extensive variety of banchan, which included mung bean jelly, daikon, other pickled radishes, kimchee, pickles, bean sprouts, octopus, that eggy dish, salad, and more! The meats were very yummy and of eggcellent quality too. Tasty schtuff, indeed. The combo also comes with soju or beer. This is awesome and necessary. We also got a huge pot of the kamjatang, which is some sort of spicy soup with potatoes, pork bone, and a bunch of other veggies. It was really SPICY but also still tasty. My friend had spent some time in Korea, and he said this«bone soup» was one of his favorite dishes in Korea, and he seemed to really enjoy the version at this place, so if you’re wondering about authenticity, this place has it. :) Also, the service is pretty good. The awesome Korean waitresses come by sometimes to grill your meats for you and serve you the soup. Very nice, I liked that. The place is kinda pricey, though; I think after tax, it was around $ 55 for two people, so if you split it, expect to pay about $ 30 – 40 for a full meal. Even though it was sorta le expensive, I think you’ll enjoy it because it is muchos delicioso! Oh, and another star because unlike most KBBQ places, I left this place and I did not smell like meat afterward, which is totally awesome!!!

Definitely a place to visit for some good bbq. This place offers awesome quality in food and meat and there are absolute no hints of MSG whatsoever. Their service is great most of the time except for when it gets real packed in there. I think they need more people on standby. The waitresses there are quite friendly and are hard-working. It sucks to see cheap people not leave their tips when they totally deserve it. Besides the bbq they also have good korean dishes so it’s a good idea to go not only for bbqs. What I really like about this restaurant is that they give out unlimited side dishes unlike some restaurants that are cheap about it or would charge you for them. The place is very clean and it’s nice to walk into clean bbq restaurants because some bbq places are actually greasy and sticky. They also have a private room for business parties and such.

Good eats, man. Categorically: Location: 4 out of 5 This place is in a fairly decent sized plaza with other restaurants and frozen yogurt shops. Parking was not a problem for me as I didn’t have dinner until maybe 730 on the evening I went. If memory serves me correct, it’s close to the intersection of Golden Springs and Lemon, and easily visible from Golden Springs. Service: 5 out of 5 From the moment I walked in, I was treated very warmly. And all through my meal, either the waitresses or the owners(?) would walk by and make sure that I was ok. When they saw that I was low on various side dishes, they were quick to offer me more. I don’t want it to sound too weird, but it was almost like a doting Asian American mother was there the entire time quietly and gently looking over my shoulder to make sure everything was ok. Food: 5 out of 5 I got the single serving Galbi dinner, and although the meat was good and the ribs were big, I thought that the side dishes really brought out the flavors, and they were quite novel too(to a person from the Midwest). The soup and general salad were ok, but I tell you what — that wasabi infused radish was seriously DELICIOUS. Oooh, and I got to try something very different — acorn cake. It was the only thing that I didn’t recognize when they brought out the side dishes, and even after I gave it a sniff, I couldn’t tell what it was. One of the ladies came over and explained to me that it was acorn cake. It doesn’t possess a real«taste» of any type, and although I wouldn’t order it if it was a la carte, it was definitely a unique experience. Like I said, the ribs were decent — I’ve probably had better, and I’ve definitely had worse, but it was the overall dining experience that warrants the food a 5 star review. Price: 3 out of 5. Ouch — got zinged a little on that one, but I’m not complaining. The galbi and unlimited sides were about 25 bucks, and a large OB beer wasn’t too bad(maybe 5 or 6?) A little pricey for one person dining out, but not exorbitant. And well worth the price too for what you get — just be mindful that it’s not«cheap.» Overall: 5 out of 5. Excellent restaurant, and a very satisfying experience from start to end. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to this Korean bbq with my family for years. We know the owner and manager by first name. Food: We usually order the BBQ combo #3 or #4. It’s pretty good for a family of 6. It comes with unlimited salad and unlimited Korean appetizers(kimchi, spinach, squid, rice wraps, potato salad, soup, etc). It comes with the thin slices of beef, pork, marinated pork, steak type of beef that you cook on the grill. It also comes with Soju or 2 free sodas. You have to order rice separately. When we go here, we usually get steamed eggs and egg pancake for free because we come here so much. They also give cinnamon tea and fruits at the end of the meal. Price: It’s a little on the expensive side but reasonable. About $ 120-$ 140 for 6 people but it’s a lot of food and it’s Korean BBQ. Service: Very friendly. It’s a little slow at times but that’s because they don’t have enough staff at times especially when they’re busy.
