We went to out first WeOlive cooking class tonight and it was so much fun!!! Chef Lauren and Nancy was super friendly, funny and did a great job of running the class. The class was about 2 hours long. Chef Lauren did a demo of an appetizer, salad, bread, main entrée seared steak, and an orange smore dessert. All these dishes were made with olive oil that they sell at the shop. Omigosh it was so tasty. We all enjoyed tasting the different olive oils, the food and just learning good techniques to use at home. My hubby saw the pictures from the class and he is so jealous he didn’t come. I would definitely come back for another cooking class. I will be back tomorrow to pick up two balsamic vinegars. So yum!

A friend and I came just tonight for the Spanish themed cooking class. Chef lauren is obviously passionate about her work, and has a bubbly personality that just makes you smile. Her food is simple and delicious and easy for anyone to make. I would definitely recommend to everyone!

My family and I just had our second in-home cooking class/demo with Chef Lauren Mahlke. I organized both classes as gifts to my parents with ease and it couldn’t have been a more perfect gift for them. We all had a blast and Chef Lauren was such a delight to work with. She is exactly what you’d want in a chef and teacher: kind, easy-going, knowledgeable, patient and extremely talented. We got to try some recipes we’ve never made before and they were delish! I highly recommend her and can’t wait to book her again for a third class!

Fun, delicious and the perfect blend of entertainment! I would highly recommend Lauren’s cooking demonstration as a great way to learn about different uses and kinds of olive oils and vinegars in a healthier, tastier way to eat. A great way to spend a time with friends and/or family at an affordable price. Thanks to Lauren for her charming way and wonderful food!

I really enjoyed Chef Lauren’s winter demonstration cooking class offered this month. She is passionate about cooking, wine pairing, and fully explained the concepts of each dish. The class included a full meal, wine pairing, and a comfy seat at the bar. The recipes were interesting, tasty and thoughtfully planned out although the salad dressing seemed a bit too dry and vinegar based. A few suggestions: some sort of placemat would have been nice under our dishes and utensils so that our silverware didn’t have to lay directly on the bar. Also, when substitutions are made, it should be noted on the print out along with the wine names & descriptions. Overall, a great deal for $ 45, and an nice evening out on a winter’s night. We’ll definitely be taking future classes here.

I spent many hours going back and forth trying to organize a private class as advertised for ten of my friends to no avail. Settled on joining a regular class with only five friends only to have the instructor cancel the day before because the other group cancelled. Her excuse was she has a ten person maximum and minimum! What a waste of time. I don’t recommend trying to go as a group if at all.

Chef Lauren’s cooking classes are wonderful!!! Everything she prepares is delish and very creative. She has really helped me to think outside the box when cooking and more adventurous in my own kitchen. It’s a great night out and I try to go to as many as I can because every month she has a new theme. If your interested in yummy food and a fun night, def. check Chef Lauren out. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Chef Lauren has just the right blend of sense of humor and culinary skill to lure me(the anti-cook) into imagining that I might, someday, enjoy cooking. And did I mention she serves wine?

For the price, this is one of the best culinary experiences the bay area has to offer. Not only do you get to learn several impressive recipes created by Chef Lauren, but you also get served a complete, multi-course, delicious dinner and have wine pairings through out the evening. I’ve attended cooking demos at other places and you rarely get served a plate of everything being cooked. I also really like the small, intimate environment. I made several of the recipes and practiced some of the cooking tips Lauren shares and have always been really happy with the results.

I went with 4 friends for a girls’ nite out. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening with pals. Food and wine in addition to the class which was fantastic, was well worth the fee we paid for the class. One gets a tasting of everything that is demonstrated which gets you out of there filling full. There is also tastings of a winery’s featured wines. What a way to spend the nite with my favorite friends. The only reason I did not give a higher rating was that because we came as a group, we were seated at a table instead of at the counter where you can get a better view of the demos. Since I am short, I had to stand up the get a better view of the demo. They do not have an overhead screen to view what was going on.
