Gary Smith is a terrible accountant. I got into severe trouble with the Franchise Tax Board of California due to his bad advice. What accountant would accept a plan to not declare enough rental income and personal income to cover one’s mortgages? «We can always amend the returns later.» Gary Smith is, in my opinion, a lax and incompetent accountant.

We ran across Gary Smith quite by accident, with a death of a family member & the joy of dealing with the estate.
We liked Gary so much we decided to have him process our own tax returns about ten years ago & have used him ever since.
He increaced our tax return over the the previous year (when we did it with Turbo tax) & is frank & honest about what to claim & what not to claim.
His fee isnt cheap, but you can claim the amount charged on the upcoming years return.
