The best restaurant in town. Every item on the menu is a delicacy! Great seafood, steaks and a beautiful wine menu. Very romantic as well.

Everything is just amazing! I love the steak with extra butter as well as the sweet potato casserole. Now that is simply to die for! For dessert, the cheesecake was simply divine… I can taste it as I type!!! Our waiter was a pleasure. he gave us wonderful wine selections for each of our meals and was funny and we had great conversation. I really enjoyed myself. I didn’t feel rushed. My waiter was very attentive…

So me and my husband decided to go out to dinner Saturday Jan 30th without no reservation. We both knew it would be a long wait we didn’t mind, so we get to the restaurant and the wait was over 2hrs so we went to sit at the bar, and it was packed as well. We found two seats where a couple just got up from so it needed to be cleaned. So we sat in the chairs and waited for it to be clean, there was two couples that came and sat down after us and got acknowledged before us by the bartender RACHEL. After she was done we kept saying excuse us to see if she saw us well that didn’t work. After about 10 mins and two couples that sat down after us I called her again and then she heard me, came over and cleaned the Bartop off and while she was cleaning she had a martini glass half full, so while wiping the table the glass spilled on the gentleman food right next to me and she kept wiping and then spilled it on me after. I was so very upset so I whispers to my husband and told him I didn’t want to eat here anymore not sure if it was the Color of my skin or what but I felt like it was because the two couples before us were white. After I got up and left I told the front desk girls what happen they weren’t surprise at all at what happen. So we just left and went to Flemings where I got the best service soon as I walked in the door and there wait was 2 hrs as well.

The menu here is very old school(side dishes on the heavy side with lots of salt and butter) The steaks are cooked to perfection, this says a lot since i am not even much of a red meat fan! The service is also top notch.

Unobtrusive, attentive service. Atmosphere could be improved with classical or semi-classical for total relaxation. The harvest salad with pears and a vinaigrette dressing is a great start. The filet mignon is a prime cut, so it makes an ordinary meal a great meal. However, filet mignon with shrimp, not filet mignon with lobster, is allowed. Shrimp is not my favorite fish. So I ordered medium rare filet mignon. The outside was a tad over cooked, but the inside was perfectly cooked. I tasted my husband’s rib eye. Couldn’t have been more perfect. Creamy garlic mashed potatoes are very tasty. Enjoyed the creamed spinach. The coda was chocolate cheesecake. I would have preferred fruit cheesecake. Nearby, upper-level parking with a three-hour limit is a plus.

Came for anniversary dinner and was very satisfied with our server and the food. The hostesses can be a lot more friendlier and genuine. As soon as we were sat it was pleasant from start to finish. Calamari: the sweet/spicy sauce they tossed them in was a bit off putting at first but the taste grows on you as you eat more and more. I do prefer just plain calamari with w good dipping sauce. My 7 yr old son did enjoy them despite the spiciness. Lobster Mac n Cheese: this dish must never be looked over. Very memorable. Creamy, cheesy, chunks of lobster goodness!!! I couldn’t stop eating it. I still think of it to this day 2 months after. I’ll be back for that. Dry aged rib eye/filet mignon: steaks were cooked to our liking. Good simple salt n pepper seasoning was perfect. My filet was melt in your mouth tender however my shrimp on top was overcooked. Baked potato/creamed spinach: good sides to go along w our entrée. $ 10 for a baked potato is very pricey. But my husband enjoyed it. Kids cheeseburger: my son loved everything about it. He said the meat was juicy and tasted good. It def wasn’t a kids size cuz it was huge but he was happy to take it to go. He was very excited that the kids meal came with ice cream. Complimentary celebration dessert is always a plus at the end. Our waiter was a pleasure. He didn’t smother us with«how’s everything» but didn’t leave us looking for him majority of the time. Although having to ask for refills more than once was a dread. In a restaurant where«dressy» attire is required, I would like my beverage topped off without having to ask multiple times. I will surely come back for the lobster Mac n cheese!!!

I am in a LeanIn Group and we wanted to celebrate our accomplishments in 2015 so my sister suggested this place. My sister made a reservation for Ruth’s Chris she told us this was her favorite restaurant. I took a look at the reviews on Unilocal to get an idea what to try. Well let’s just say we tried everything we could. The ambience is very romantic we had a table right by the window. For appetizers we ordered the crab cakes and calamari. The calamari had a Japanese style taste to me. It was little sweet and tangy but it was really good. The crab cakes were fresh it was almost like the crabs were just pulled from the ocean. lol I had the filet mignon Oscar styled medium well. The steak melted in my mouth, the sauce on the crab cake and asparagus was a great compliment to the steak. I had regular mashed potatoes which was creamy. My meal came with a turtle cake and chocolate bark for dessert and that was very rich and good. Someone at the table had the lobster mac and cheese and that was very good also. This place is very pricey BUT it is WORTHIT! You will LOVE the food.

The quality of our food was amazing!!! Our server’s helper Adan was so pleasant and kind. We really enjoyed how prompt and sweet he was. He did a great job in providing more room for our table and making sure we didn’t get thirsty. We loved his top notch service. I got the bone in filet and could not have been more impressed with the flavor and how amazing it was! My boyfriend got the bone in new york strip which he thought was really great as well! Thanks for the delicious food. We will be back!

Soooo glad I made reservations because as soon as 5pm hit, they were packed. Our server was amazing. I wish I remembered her name, but she was super friendly and talkative, which is something I love. She engaged us throughout our meal, offering her thoughts on different menu items. I ordered the petit filet with shrimp and the sweet potato casserole and macaroni and cheese. My steak was DELICIOUS but seriously let’s just focus on the casserole. It is the perfect combination of sweet and crunchy. The Mac and cheese was super creamy and cheesy just the way I like it. Dinner and service was amazing, the Christmas decorations made the evening even more enjoyable.

My favorite steakhouse. Period. I’ve been to a number of their competitors like Fleming’s, Houston’s, Morton’s, and even the famed Peter Luger’s in New York, but nothing in my opinion is better than Ruth’s Chris. So today was a special occasion for me on two fronts. One was my good friends from So Cal were up here and wanted to have dinner. And two, I passed my PMP exam! So we all met there this evening and had a great meal and good conversation today. Here’s what makes Ruth’s Chris so special. First is the quality of food. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years(probably more) and I’ve never, ever had a steak that I didn’t feel was worth the price they charge. Every steak I’ve ordered medium rare was cooked medium rare. And that butter sauce is so off the hook good. Now I know many steak purists scoff at the idea of their butter sauce — as if they’re masking bad taste or something. But if you’ve ever tried to do it, it’s not easy to pull off. Second, the service. It’s not over the top. Very professional. No bad attitudes ever. I’ve been to the RC in Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Irvine, and this one in Walnut Creek. It’s consistently the same — same as in excellent. So tonight I went a little bit above and beyond and got the lobster tails and the petite fillet. The lobster was succulent. I can’t believe I used that word, but it truly was succulent. Absolutely perfect. Somewhere between soft and slightly firm. I’ll say it again: perfect. And as usual, the steak was top notch. I don’t get this nonsense that they butter up low quality steaks. Been to Outbacks much? lol. Anyways, I know what I’ve written sounds like I’m a shill for Ruth’s Chris, but I really love this place for special occasion meals. I need to win the lottery so I can dine here once a week :)

Extremely disappointed THISTIME. From the start the bartender did not make the drinks correct and then had an attitude when we returned them for another drink and remake one. I asked a black superman and got red drink… and wrong drink again. But to top off the start, my food took forever, it was cold and I asked for a well-done steak, of course it was medium-well… It appears the employees make it the way they want it not the CUSTOMER who is paying…$$$$ to be pricey and not up to par will only go so far for so long. I know I’m one of many customers, but I will soon be one less customer if my next visit is a similar one.

Been here once before and got stuffed chicken breast which was delightful But for my second time I took my lady for a nice holiday meal to start a new tradition. The service great alex our waiter was Informative and quick an very responsive to what we needed The spicy lobster app was great Lobster Mac and cheese was good too could of been a bit more cheesier I got the cowboy rib eye which was out of this world the juicyness of the steak and the flavor was in a whole nother class The cut was huge for my lady’s New York strip which surprised me. Big basket of fries were my side which were great and the drinks were amazing as well our lemon drops and majitos gave us a great buzz after wards. Will go back again fosure great job Ruth’s chris!

Came here for the first time yesterday(11÷29÷15). I was quite impressed with the portions. They were not skimpy at all! Started with the battered lobster and fried calamari. They were both DELICIOUS! But the lobster was definitely my favorite. It was lightly battered and dressed with a spicy mayo citrus sauce. Entrée: I ordered the Chilean sea bass and a lobster tail(I know, I came to a steak house and ordered seafood… Lol!) anyway, they were both cooked perfectly. The sea bass was great, however, the way it was prepared it was on the sweet side. I think a mango pineapple chutney. Dessert: never pass up on the crème brûlée! It was good. I just wish the torched the sugar right before serving. The top wasn’t served warm

Made reservations for thanksgiving at 6:30 — wasn’t seated until 730 and then didn’t eat the main course until 9! They are a chain restaurant so I should expect for them to overbook and make others pay for it to make sure they profit from a night like this… We sat at the bar until we were seated and all of the bartenders were inattentive and didn’t make very good drinks. I can make better drinks than them and I have only been legal for three years Service was OK for a steakhouse. Wasn’t the best or the worst. Just mediocre. Our server was attentive but her assistant could’ve done better. Aside from the bad service — am pleased to say the food was absolutely amazing. I would go back on a normal day — never a holiday again. I ordered the crab cakes to start — delicious! Very juicy and they come with a yummy sauce. Ordered the wedge salad, which wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst either. For the main entrée I ordered the petite filet and shrimp. I didn’t realize it but you get two filets and each are covered with three pieces of jumbo shrimp. Also ordered the shoe string steak fries which are really good but are made to share for sure! Also ordered he mash potatoes and the Cremini mushrooms! I ordered way too much food but have ample leftovers for the rest of the weekend. Side note* Ruth’s Chris knows thy overbooked and inconvenienced everyone so they gave everyone a to go thanksgiving plate, so I applaud them for that.

I think my first endeavor into the world of Ruth’s Chris was on the big island of Hawaii. That was years ago but I still recall my wife and I having a grand old time there. Flash forward many years and I’m here with my spouse and friends at the establishment in Walnut Creek. It’s a flight of stairs up to get in but once inside it’s warm and inviting. I read earlier reviews that said service was spotty but that was not my experience. The wait staff was timely, and mistakes that were made(very few) were corrected immediately(I ordered Brussels Sprouts not Creamed Spinach). We began with libations… they have a good selection of well products and my spouse loved hers. We moved on to appetizers with calamari(tasty) and a crab stack, which I highly recommend(Succulent, fresh, very Hawaiian). From there we moved on to salads. My only disappointment that night was the classic wedge salad. It just fell flat on its face with tons of lettuce and not much else. Our table had a mix of main plates: Crab cakes, Chilean Sea Bass(Yikes! This species is being over fished!), and an assortment of steaks. My steak had just a little too much butter but was good. Our sides(besides the two mentioned in this review) included baked sweet potato and Au Gratin potatoes. All in all a very good meal and plenty of doggie bags needed for the take home. In all a very good experience. Valet parking is available at $ 7.00 per person. Here’s a tip: Give the valet a $ 20.00 and your car will remain parked out front!

Victoria greeted us as soon as we walked in. After about 10 minutes, we were seated. Our waitress was Tess, she was very sweet and attentive. She checked in with us through out our dinner. We had the fried calamari(very fresh & delicious), lobster Mac and cheese(omg it was perfect), and roasted corn(delightful, never tasted flavors like this before). Our son ordered the cheeseburger with French fries and apple juice from kids menu. It was huge, a regular size burger! He’s only 5 so he only had a few bites. And it came with dessert, ice cream. I ordered the filet and lobster tail. The lobster tail was a little overlooked but it was still good, I asked for the filet in medium well, but it came out rare. I cut right down the middle and it was pretty red not pink. I don’t like my meat rare, it’s just grosses me out so I asked to have it cooked more. It came back smaller than ever, lol. My boyfriend said, «ls that all of it?» But it’s ok because I was full from all the appetizers. Tess came back with raspberry ice cream and strawberry shortcake desert for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was good, lots of flavor! Our son’s vanilla ice cream was really good too.

I was a little hesitant since I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but this definitely deserves 4 stars. We came early for happy hour and the prices will make you happy! The food selection for $ 8 is great and you can pretty much have a happy hour dinner and walk out satisfied. We had the spicy lobster which was fried and it was so tasty and good. I like that they had pickled cucumbers and onions on the side. It complimented the spiciness of the lobster. We already made dinner reservations though so we couldn’t indulge in too many appetizers. For dinner we shared the cowboy ribeye, lobster bisque, and the veal osso buco ravioli. The ravioli was exquisite — saffron infused pasta filled with osso buco. The steak was huge, bone in and cooked perfectly. We liked ours medium rare and that is exactly what we got. The lobster bisque was creamy and delicious. From the pleasantness of the wait staff to the wonderful food offerings, this is definitely a go to.

Just the steak alone deserves 5 stars. But overall grade 3⁄5. Cons: Wasn’t too thrilled or mind-blown by the sides, starter, or dessert; Ordered the Ruth’s classic where you choose 1 starter of soup or salad, your main entrée and dessert. 1) Had the gumbo, no different to that of progressive canned soup. 2) Had the creamed spinach… Ehhhhh. 3)And the roasted corn, which was more like a verde salsa. All I needed was some tortilla chips. 4) The strawberry shortcake was not Light or fluffy, kinda like old cake that’s been sitting out a while with the edges a little kinda hard. I do have high expectations that if I am getting $$$$ I get the quality that comes with it. Pros: The service was good. The waiters and table bussers were very attentive and quick. The complimentary bread was soft and crusty and warm with a soft lightly salted butter. I could have eaten to whole loaf myself. The lobster, I was kinda unimpressed with. Slightly overcooked. The cool, unnecessary service they provide is that the waitress can remove the tail from the shell for you. Also provided with the lobster melted butter and a lemon half. The steak!!! The steak alone gets 5 stars! I ordered my 6 oz mignon medium rare. THE most tender of tender a steak can get. I did burn my hand on the plate forgetting that it’s was 500 degrees. My bf got his done rare, cut like butter and even more smoother. Top 2% prime beef, which it truly is. I would come back to this place for the steak alone and nothing else and I will. My date and I were thinking that the Cheesecake Factory overall is a better bang for your buck and overall experience. The ambiance as well not as nice as I’d expect. They say dressy attire. Collared shirts For men and jeans with no holes; Dresses for women. But I saw guests wearing cargo shorts and sneakers, casual street wear.

Having been to the Sacramento location I decided to bring my Husband for his Birthday this month and where the food is good it wasn’t really great. We started with drinks and an Appetizer at the bar, service was slow but the Spicy Lobster was delicious and drinks strong. Table service was wonderful and we enjoyed the quiet table I had requested. Food seemed to take some time to arrive and wasn’t quite as impressive as the Sacramento location. I understand that it is a chain but such a $$$ restaurant you would think the food would be identical but it really wasn’t. Filet was the Steak of choice for both myself and my Husband, topped with Shrimp they were cooked just right but my Husbands arrived at the table with paper attached to it, presumably the wrapping from the Shrimp as it appeared to be cooked onto it, I have no idea how it could have been missed! Naturally it was returned and I ended up sat eating my meal while he had nothing, I felt really bad and would have thought that both meals would be taken back also so that we could eat together. As it was his Birthday my Husband got a complimentary Dessert which was delicious! A giant Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream, my Strawberry Shortcake looked pretty sad in comparison and was dry too, as his Dessert was so big he was nice enough to share with me. Our servers were friendly and attentive throughout, wishing my Husband a Happy Birthday as we left. I’m not sure I will return for a meal but for drinks and Happy Hour in the bar is always good.

Ok, if you ask me who I prefer more between Ruth Chris and Morton’s, it would honestly have to be Morton’s…tough one, but when it really came down to it, such as with customer service and sides, Morton’s came on top haha… Don’t get me wrong though, this place is delicious… try it our if u haven’t done so yet… This place is located in downtown Walnut Creek, so of course, for a weekend, it’s crowded and busy… luckily my family and I were able to find parking in the garage adjacent to the restaurant… To get to the restaurant, you can either take the stairs or the elevator since it’s located on the second floor… take note… don’t come in here with super casual attire… as in no flip flops, sports, jerseys, and anything of that sort… jeans, a nice top, and a clean pair of shoes can do… Anyway, customer service was really nice, just a tad bit slow… the place was busy, but not overwhelmingly busy lol… for example, it took us a while to get our waters and our bill… This is what my family and I ordered… btw, the food here is a la carte, so sides are separate from the meats… and course. that means more money: –Appetizer: Calamari – nicely breaded with good texture… I’m assuming it was cooked in some type of sauce b/c it was«wet»…tasted like sweet chili sauce to me… whatever it was, it was really good with the calamari… Entrees: Dad got the NY strip – medium well, and he said it was good Mom got the petite ribeye – medium well, and she said it was good Bro: got the 2 filet medallions with shrimp on it… medium well, and said it was good, although when I looked at it, it looked dry AF haha… Me: 160z ribeye medium… sooo good… I barely finished half of the meat… juicy, tender, sizzling off the plate… mmmm…hahaha Sides(the sides are big enough for you to share): –Tempura onion rings-mehh, super huge, and the batter a tad bit overwhelming and thick –Sautéed mushrooms: I only had one or two cuz my family hogged it all — it tastes way better than it looks hahaha… my fave out of all the sides –Loaded baked potato – our server was nice to cut it half so that my bro and I could split, and my mom and dad could have their own half as well. Good, traditional… –Asparagus & Hollandaise sauce: I was too lazy to put the sauce on myself, but the asparagus tasted fine without it anyway… For desserrt: Aside from Father’s Day, it was also my parents’ 30th wedding anniversary… so we were served symphony cheesecake — choco crust with cheesecake drizzled with raspberry sauce and two choco barks with nuts… again, typical, but it was good none the less… –Drinks: –Mom got the piña colada… kinda funny how she said she was«feeling funny» and felt even more funny” when we told her there was alcohol in her drink… hahaha…it was really good though… so good job on that –I had some type of cosmo… I forgot the actual name of it, but it was good up until I got halfway through it… it was super strong… and I couldn’t do it anymore lol We eventually got the bill, and it was over $ 300 and some change… wahhhh :( It’s ok though, cuz my bro and I split that tab… My family and I may be back here soon… we were given a giftcard for $ 25 haha… good til August :)
