They fill prescriptions for my dad’s retirement community(St. Paul’s Towers in Oakland), and they have provided excellent service, even though my dad has Kaiser insurance and is not covered for prescriptions. So, even though all they usually do is fill his monthly blisterpacks with meds I provide(so they don’t make much off of providing service), they let me know in advance each month if they are short of meds he’ll need. If I’ve been in a pinch and couldn’t get to Kaiser, they have very quickly provided prescription meds, too. They are VERY easy to deal with.

Back in the day, before the TarJay’s, Wal-Mart and Walgreen’s of the world, there were pharmacies with real pharmacists who knew all of the doctors that wrote prescriptions, the patients who needed them filled and had that truly caring yet distant type of attitude to do their job well. This is that kind of pharmacy. It is small and housed on the lower level of an office building that houses numerous doctors, dentists and other professionals. They have a small selection of sundries and snacks to keep the kids happy and if my insurance didn’t require me to do mail order prescriptions, this is just the type of pharmacy I would use on a regular basis to fill my prescriptions, not just for a quickie prescription for my daughter.
