K Cary Canoun, M.D., F.A.C.S

Dr. Canoun is a patient, caring and knowledgeable surgeon who genuinely wants to see his patients get the best results possible. BA (breast augmentation) consultation was set up with a friendly receptionist in October, sat with Dr. Canoun who listened to my desired expectations and took his time explaining suggestions, scheduled surgery that same day for November 10^th. ~_​~
Originally had two other consultations scheduled that week but canceled them after meeting with Dr. Canoun. Both wanted to charge a consultation fee and one of the receptionists actually hung up in my face after giving me a frosty attitude when I said no thank you to her offer for a rescheduled appointment.
Now one week post op and extremely pleased with the results! Everyone I’ve encountered during this process has been nothing but kind and supportive. Including the doctor, receptionists and all surgery center staff. Surgery went well without complication, healing has been pretty quick and pain was gone by day three. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made, I have absolutely no regrets about the procedure or the surgeon I chose to perform it.

I had breast augmentation surgery, over 35 years ago. About a year ago, my implants ruptured and encapsulated. I had to have them replaced. I live in Marin County, and was referred to a local Plastic Surgeon. It was a horrible experience. Her front office was rude, and the doctor didn’t seem to know what she was doing. She told me, removing the implants, was too difficult, and I would not be happy with the results. A friend recommended me to Dr. Canoun. The only problem was, he was too far. After doing research on Dr. Canoun, and not getting anywhere with my local doctor, I decided to bite the bullet, and drive to Walnut Creek. At my first appointment, Dr. Canoun, took the time to go into complete detail regarding the surgery, and answered, all my questions. I felt completely at ease, and comfortable. Even though I live in Marin County, and would have to drive to John Muir hospital, for the surgery, I decided it was worth it, if Dr. Canoun was my doctor. I had the surgery performed, and I am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Canoun listened to what I said, and heard me. He is a kind doctor, with an immense amount of empathy, for his patients. Not to mention his work is beautiful. I highly recommend him.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Canoun. After doing some research I decided to set up a consultation with him. The consultation is free which is a plus! I went to see him about getting a boob lift and implants. My boobs weren’t small, but having a kid and gravity took a toll and I was ready to put some life back into them. He was honest and straightforward about what would be best. He knew his stuff! I really got a good feel from him and decided to book the surgery. His prices are very reasonable and he offers a payment plan through get care. I was so indecisive about what size implants I think I wen back to see him like 2 more times. He was patient and helped me through the process. I got the gel implants behind the muscle, which feel very natural. He does surgeries on Tuesdays and I had mine for June 30^th. I had made several arrangements with family and work when an emergency came up and I could not go on Tuesday. I was super stressed, but the staff and Dr. Canoun were really accommodating and I was able to come in on that Thursday so I didn’t have to rearrange everything. Very cool!
I was very nervous about the surgery, but it went great. Swelling and bruising lasted a couple weeks. I went back for a follow up after a week and then again a few more times. I am still healing, but my boobs look great. They are fuller and I don’t even need to wear a bra. I am very happy with them!
It has been a couple months now and I am finally able to work out like I use to except running. Dr. Canoun says the redness from incisions takes about 3 months to heal. I would highly recommend him for any of your cosmetic surgery. He is awesome!

I’m so glad I chose Dr. Canoun. He is a very skilled and knowledgeable surgeon. He’s personable and his fees are quite low. He did work on my eyes several years ago. Last year, I had some work done on my face and neck. He made sure I knew exactly what he was going to do and why. I knew what to expect. A friend of mine, who is a registered nurse, picked me up from the hospital and took care of me. He immediately told me what a great job Dr. Canoun did and how perfect the stitches were. My friend continued to make similar statements as he monitored my recovery. I get compliments all the time on how beautiful my skin is. It’s been over a year now and I’m very, very pleased with the results.

I met Dr. Canoun at John Muir E.R. A quarter of my finger got cut off in an accident. Dr. Canoun was the on-​call plastic surgeon that night. LUCKY ME! When Dr. Canoun arrived (aprox 1.5 hours after I was admitted) he immediately became my hero. The nursing staff at J.M.forgot about me. I was in alone, in shock, shaking, nauseous and bleeding badly. He immediately got an staff in there to clean me up, give me anti nausea pills, etc. He took excellent care of me. He also held off on skin graft surgery (big $ for him) in hopes that my finger would regenerate. It did! Because of him my finger looks close to normal. I saw him weekly for 2 months. He is SO good at what he does! Funny too. Ask him about the girl with missing finger :-) Go see him!!!

Since my surgery, tummy tuck, breast lift /​and reduction with Dr. Cary Canoun, the results are continually improving daily. I cannot say enough about Dr. Canoun and his skilled hands. I am more confident and look better than ever. I am so pleased with my results and Dr Canoun assures me they will only get better and better. I am only 6 weeks out and my Tummy Tuck Scar is so thin, in six months it will barely be visible. That is all due to his technique, and knowledge of the human body. I cannot thank Dr Canoun and his wonderful staff, I’d highly suggest anyone considering any procedures should certainly see Dr. Canoun.

I don’t understand the review complaining about Dr Canoun’s prices. I went to him a year ago and got a very reasonable price for a procedure. I did my homework and shopped around. Due to unforeseen circumstances I could not have my surgery done for over a year. Dr Canoun honored the original price from a year earlier. I though this was very nice of him. I had my procedure three weeks ago and I’m very happy with the results. I look great and would recommend him highly.

Last May I had to have a tumor removed from my foot. It left me bedridden for 3 months. In that 3 months I put on about 50lbs. When it healed and I returned to running, the 50lbs came off. The one thing about being over 45 is that your skin doesn’t snap back like it did when you are 20. My face at this point seemed to sag because of all the weight loss. I needed a face lift. A very good friend of mine recommended Dr Cary Canoun a very well know plastic surgeon. My first visit with Dr Canoun went well. He was very personable and was kind and understanding of my situation. He showed me many before and after pictures of his work. I can honestly say he is a artist at what he does. I set up the date and had the face lift, eyebrow lift and he added in some awesome cheek bones. My recovery was around 14 days. During that time he had given me his cell number just in case I had a problem or other questions. It has now been about 6 weeks post surgery and I look like I did when I was 30. All my friends think my face looks great because of the weight loss not because I had work done on it. It is amazing to see that you can have plastic surgery and look natural after and not all stretched out and funny looking. I would recommend Dr Canoun to anyone looking for a natural look after plastic surgery. Because honestly do you really want your friends to know you had work done? Or do you want to have them tell you that you look amazing and not know why?

As a nurse, I work with physicians and have friends who work for plastic surgeons, so I probably have greater insight as to which plastic surgeons have the qualities that the public seeks when looking for the right surgeon– experience/​skill, credentials/​certifications, understanding MY needs, compassion, availability, and the cost factor. Hands down, Dr. Canoun got my vote on all accounts.
I was pleased with the results of some liposuction and blethroplasty (eyelid surgery), and went back for my abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). I cannot tell you how many compliments I have gotten on my new figure, and the two friends I have that work for other plastic surgeons commented «this has to be the best incision (scar) I have ever seen.» Thanks to Dr. Canoun’s technique, my incision line is barely noticeable, and my belly button has a natural look without any scar, unlike others where you can see a scar which is the telltale sign of plastic surgery. I chuckle as I recall how both friends looked over their shoulder to make sure the surgeon they worked for wasn’t walking in to possibly overhear them say another surgeon’s work was the best they had seen.
One thing I appreciate is Canoun’s candor– unlike other surgeon’s I consulted with, when I sought his opinion he didn’t try to sell me a service if he didn’t feel it would enhance my appearance. He always got back to me if I had any questions, and really took the time to explain things to my satisfaction. Also, if your opinion is all other things being equal to Dr. Canoun (skill, credentials, experience, etc.), you’ll find his fees are more reasonable than others, so why wouldn’t you consider him above all others?
The more I see and the more I hear in my line of work, coupled with my experience and satisfaction, I can say with utmost confidence you won’t be disappointed if you take your surgical wants and needs to Dr. Canoun. I have an upper thin lip and with age its getting thinner. Same for the folds near my nose which are getting deeper, making me look older. In general, I’m pretty conservative when it comes to my face. Visiting Dr Canoun’s site and seeing the before and after photos encouraged me. Meeting Dr Canoun made me decide to do it, he made me feel trusting and I didnt hesitate. Now Im very happy with the result. My lip look naturally fuller which gives me a definitely younger look. My folds are smoother so my face looks less tired and refreshed. As a whole, with a minor procedure, I look much younger, and I’m definitely satisfied. I will definitely trust Dr Canoun for an upcoming facelift in few years.
