Average but not bad sushi place. I got the dragon roll/sunset roll and was moderately happy with both. Definitely not a bad place and I may go back but if I was in WC again i’d try something else to see if it knocked my socks off.

I used to come here once or twice a month and get the beef donburi. I stopped for about a year, and decided to come back. What happened? The beef donburi used to be massive. It could last 2.5 meals at least. Now, its tiny! I ate it in one sitting in about 5 minutes. It tasted ok, just the serving was tiny. Also I swear it used to have these grilled onions which were amazing mixed with the rice… now there are no onions. Disappointed, this used to be one of my favorite places

Decent rolls. Very rushed and unattentive service. Constant upselling no personality.

Seems like services has gone downhill. Tonight they were extremely slow and with two kids that’s hard

I went here with my girl friend after work. The place is quiet and spacious. We ordered Unadon, Dragon roll. The roll is okay, it’s made from unagi and shrimp tempura. The Unadon tastes good. I will recommend this place for a quick lunch or other conditions you are not trying to get legit Japanese cuisines. Try other places if you are a picky eater.

House of Sake is our go to Japanese place. We always feel welcome and the food is fresh and delicious. The sushi is well priced and is always top quality. We like the bento boxes as well and the large rolls are great when it’s a big group or we are super hungry! The staff is super friendly and caring. It’s like the neighborhood hangout, but Japanese!

This place is a staple in my family. They are consistent in providing FRESH sashimi and solid rolls. They aren’t as «fancy» as some other establishments in the area, but if you’re interested in authentic good Japanese food and fresh sushi, I highly recommend.

Dinner was okay. I mean it was edible and mediocre, ordered the tempura, dragon roll, Cali roll and shrimp fried rice. The shrimp Tempura was as good as you would expect at any Japanese restaurant. The rolls came out sloppy and nothing special or memorable and the fried rice tasted like any Chinese restaurant but for a higher price. Would not recommend as a good Japanese restaurant. Service was fine when we entered and went significantly downhill when we wanted to pay the bill. They were definitely understaffed on a Saturday night, waited 25mins to get the attention of the staff to ask for our bill because they would rush pass you even with your hand waving up. Won’t be returning.

Delicious! First time there I got the teriyaki chicken and I’ve been craving it since. Good portions for the dinner price. Will be going back again and again!

We finally decided to try this place because my husband was in a sushi mood and everything was great, the food was quick, reasonable priced, and their portions were good. We live within walking distance and will be back!

This was my first time at this sushi restaurant. The inside is really nice. It’s not super fancy but it’s also not super casual. They have a few TVs. The waitress was very attentive and had a super cute maki shirt on! The rolls themselves were really good. I got the Green Lantern(?) and the Rolls Royce. I also got garlic edamame which is SOOOOO good. My bill totaled to $ 24.00. I would definitely come back if I was in the area!

I recommend this place! Not dirt cheap, but reasonably priced. Very nice people all the way around. The menu is not immense, and nothing I’ve ordered in the past three visits has been smothered in sauce — leaving the nice fresh fish to enjoy! I’ve had a bunch of their rolls and also the blue fun tuna dinner special which included a roll, nigiri, and sashimi. Loved it all!

Been here twice now and it was great both times! The complementary crab & cucumber salad is really refreshing and all the rolls we’ve tried have been really good. They have cute booths and the service was friendly and super fast both times.

Regular sushi place to me. The extra crab salad and pineapple«courses“are a nice bonus to any meal. There is a decent variety of creative rolls. We ordered the simba topped with cooked salmon, but was a bit put off since it was served too warm. We also ordered some common ones such as alaska, salmon & philly creamcheese. OK taste, but something about the ingredients or rice just made it unexciting… Prices decent. Really nice décor. No issues with service.

My boyfriend and I like coming here every time we’re in the Walnut Creek area. The food is good and I like all the rolls that they make here. The service is such a pleasure with such nice servers willing to help out and they are really fast unlike other sushi places. Don’t be strayed because the location is next to a 7⁄11 but try it out! It’s worth a try.

After many failed attempts I was finally able to try House of Sake. I met up with with the girlfriend for lunch and seeing as I’ve wanted to try this place and it’s so close to her work, it was a perfect choice. The restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza sharing space with a 7/11, so it’s not exactly the typical location for a sushi restaurant I thought. The outside looks like just another business, but inside is very nice. Low lighting inside and a lot of natural light coming through the windows. I’ve been to a few sushi places where the tables were so packed together, and in House of Sake they are a good distance from each other. They sushi bar is in the middle, with two cooks doing their beautiful work with a few people watching on. The service was quick and friendly. Keeping an eye on everybody. The first thing I had to eat was the miso soup. The soup was simple, but so good. I ordered the Alaska roll and Sake Nigiri. Terri is looking at me, informing me that I will most definitly still be hungry and that I need to order more. I decided to wait and decide, and known behold, she was right. After having the Alaska roll which was so fresh and delicious, plus beautifully plated, and the Sake Nigiri which I’ve had before but it was still great and you can taste the quality, I got up to order another roll. The server was right behind and she must of read my mind because she asked if I wanted another roll, then asked if I wanted a spicy one. She was reading my thoughts. So the second roll I ordered, I can’t remember the name sadly, but it was a special and it had jalapenos on it. When it came out it literally looked like jalapeño poppers, but man was it good. The heat was subtle at first and then quickly escalated. Not enough to have me crying, but enough to be happy I had water right there. Don’t let the outside fool you because inside is some spectacular sushi.

I really like it here. They have a very good selection of sushi and other dinners. I like that they give a complimentary(small) sunomono with crab as a starter and a cimplimentary(small) portion of pineapple chunks in plum wine as dessert. I love the black and white roll with scallops and black tobiko. I also had for the first time tonight the golden nugget, which had salmon, crunchies, and green tobiko. Very nice restaurant.

Not bad. I have been curious to check this place out since discovering it YEARS ago. And especially as of recently, since my honey has since made it his work lunch spot, and has had nothing but great things to say about it. So being on my lunch break, I decided to finally pay them a visit. Located right off Civic Dr, just next door to a little 7 – 11. You really can’t miss it. The interior of the establishment is a little on the dark side(as in minimal lighting) however, its absolutely spacious with PLENTY of seating and appeared to be clean. I got a nice table toward the back, semi-close to the sushi bar. They have your standard Japanese diner options to choose from, with a few things that all sounded tempatiously new to my ears. They also offer a decent lunch menu equipped with some budget friendly prices. I ended up choosing a Bento Box special. You have two options of food items to choose from such as tempura, sushi ect which all comes with the classic misto soup and a salad. I ended up choosing the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura and their version of crab, cream cheese puffs. It also comes with rice and endame. I also ordered a cup of tea being it was freezing in there(My one star knocker). Soup arrived faster than I could blink. Hot-fresh, and tasty. Then within moments my wonderful looking bento box arrived. Alot of food for sure. The tempura was fantastic tasting, as most tempura usually is. Crab cakes were ok. Nothing spectacular but decent. Salad was a nice refreshing companion. Overall, it was decent and satisfying. Overall, nice, spacious place. Dark, but nice. Food was enjoyable, prices were right, and the service was extremely attentive and accommodating.
