I just happened to walk by Bryn Walker today and saw this gorgeous eggplant wool coat that made me walk into the store. I am so glad that I did! I love love love this boutique store! The clothing designs are so beautiful! They remind me of the clothes that I would see many girls wearing in the street of Tokyo, Japan, when I lived out there. The designs were hip & modern, yet unconventional and comfortable. The clothes portray a level of class and sophistication without the pretentious, uptight feeling you tend to get with many other designers when attempting this look. While I was browsing the store, there were three European women and a Persian woman in the store shopping as well. I gathered from their conversation that they were all regulars of this designer’s clothing. The clothes are all made from luxurious, all natural, sustainable fabrics, such as silks, wools, crêpe and cotton. Fabrics that flow and can be worn dressed up or down to fit any occasion. I am sold on this designer and her clothes! And it’s awesome that I found out that she is Korean! I love the idea of supporting one of my peeps! LOL! The clothes are not inexpensive, but very reasonable for being a local, boutique designer. I am so happy to hear that she has a few stores located close to me in the Bay Area, including Berkeley and Palo Alto, as well as this one in Walnut Creek. Speaking of which, Kathleen, one of the two women that were working in the Walnut Creek store as I was pondering over which items I wanted, was absolutely wonderful! First of all, she was dressed head-to-toe in Bryn Walker designs and she looked fabulous! She was extremely helpful, honest, and very nice! She let me know what worked and didn’t work for me and my color scheme and body type. She was incredibly honest and wasn’t trying to over sell me on things, which is probably one of the reasons that I walked out with a coat, 2 sweaters, 3 jackets, a skirt, 2 pairs of pants, and a scarf! I went crazy in this store! Check it out! You may find that you like a lot more than you thought you would! :) Oh Yeah! If you want to check out this store in Walnut Creek, I would suggest parking in the parking garage near Nordstrom Broadway Plaza. The store is located in the courtyard of the outside mall at Nordstrom. Happy shopping!

I used to go to the store in Berkeley and really enjoyed shopping there. the staff were very helpful and suggested things for me to try on. Too bad the walnut creek store is not as friendly or enjoyable. whenever I go in, the salesclerks stay glued to the cash register area, and never come to help you. the last time I was in there, the one woman who helped me was just not very nice. I have been in there enough times that she must recognize me, and know what I like, but she kept telling me that she had nothing I would like. I decide then never to go back. her clothes are nice, but nothing that I haven’t seen in plenty of other boutiques in the shopping center.

I was so happy to find one of my Berkeley faves in WC! A much bigger store than the one on Vine, so there was so much to choose from. My budget would not allow something new today, but I will be back for that soft, comfortable item that has a better price tag than Eileen Fisher(don’t get me wrong… I love EF, but she is $$$) YAY!!!
