Like Szechuan food? It doesn’t get much better than this. We ordered a handful of menu items that were similar to our typical Szechuan restaurant order and it definitely lived up to the expected hype. An even bigger surprise was the Peking duck that was pre ordered but never claimed. Jaw droppingly good.

They are overrated and over priced. Even with the NY location being michelin rated, not worth it. Some chicken dishes are good but expect it to be very spicy. Scallion pancakes are very good too, crispy. The soup dumplings are also good but may not be on the menu. These are better in the restaurant fresh. They deliver but once forgot some of my order. I ended up driving back to get it.

I ordered a lunch with delivery over the phone I paid by credit card and thought the delivery fee is included. When the delivery guy arrived, I tipped him 10%, but he didn’t let me close the door and forced me to give him more tips with bad attitude, he said my home is 3 miles away from the restaurant and it is further than other delivery areas, so he deserves more tips. I would give him more if he asked me nicely because I wasn’t aware that the restaurant didn’t include the delivery fee. What a terrible experience and the food was very salty.

Finally got a chance to go back. What the?! I wish the selections had explanations on the menu; not everyone that eats their food is from the region. Ordered old country style chicken cheng qing and was served $ 20 worth of bones. Whoever thought chopping up chicken bones into tiny pieces with little to no edible meat on it was going to fly needs to reconsider their career. Waste of money, not sure I’d reconsider going back even knowing it’s pretty legit Sichuan cuisine.

Never again! The sauce for the sweet and sour tasted awful and the noodles extremely garlicky. Anyone tell me where I can find authentic Chinese food please.

First time out and enjoyed the Szechuan Pork Dumplings with Roasted Chili Vinaigrette followed by the Braised Beef Filets & Napa Cabbage with Roasted Chili, Spicy Green Pepper Sliced Fish and Chinese Spinach with Garlic. All were delicious!!! I’ll be back!

Oh yeah. yummy indeed. I ordered via Unilocal’s Delivery app. Easy to browse and select items from menu. I was able to pre-order before restaurant is open. I guess the order goes into a queue somewhere and its picked up later. Restaurant calls to verify my delivery address and food arrives shortly. All is good. I had their ma-po tofu and it is yummy. Not exactly the same ma-po tofu, as this one has the cumin and Szechuan flavors. Seems to be vegetarian as well. Kinda greasy, but most mapo tufo is greasy anyway. Looking at their menu, I may just make a trip to the restaurant for dinner.

I had scallion pancake as an appetizer. Was great. However interval between appetizer and main entry is more than 45 min, and actually i am still sitting here and waiting. I dont usually write reviews, but this is ridic. Staffs r friendly, but doesnt mean they could have ppl wait about an hour ! Maybe i came in wrong night, it is tuesday evening came in at 7:30 now it is 8:15. They should hire more ppl to take care of customers at least.

As good as any Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, if not better. The waiters are very pleasant and accommodating. The food is amazing, when they say its spicy ITISSPICY! They don’t tone it down for the American palette. We usually go during the week, no problem getting seated but not sure how busy it is on the weekend. It’s an odd neighborhood to find such an outstanding Chinese restaurant.

WOW! My wife, kid and I went with some friends, on their suggestion. I had no idea Wallington had such a good Szechuan restaurant. The food was amazingly good. The duck was really tasty, but a bit boney. The only other shortcoming was their pan fried noodles. I think maybe they ran out of the regular thin noodles and gave us what seemed to be a Bucatini. The rest of the food was awesome, especially the buns! We will be back soon…

Finally a decent Chinese restaurant nearby! I’ve only been going to Chengdu 23 but the 80 traffic gets out of hand sometimes. I came for a weeknight dinner and ordered dan dan noodle. It was as good as it could get, but I wish they served it in a slightly larger bowl. It was quite a challenge trying to mix the noodle with the sauce that stays on the bottom. Service was good and quick. Prices are very reasonable too.

Believe the hype folks. This is Hong Kong style food in Bergen County. No need to make the trek to Lotus Café if this restaurant is closer to your home. Lansheng serves all of your traditional favorites and some not so traditional items as well. Seating is plentiful and service is top notch. Aside from the glorious food they also offer a full bar, which may or may not be your cup of tea if you’re a wine snob. However, they do have some decent selections by the bottle. Just don’t go expecting to find any Duckhorn or Stags Leap. I suggest ordering any or all of their appetizers. The getting is good there. The cold noodles are a must try and guaranteed to cleanse and invigorate any palette. Parking isn’t very accommodating but there a lot of side streets. The neighborhood isn’t that sketchy but I’d suggest walking in pairs. You never know…

I came here on a weekday around 4 pm. This place is a little more pricey than your average Chinese place, however the portions are decent & it’s well made. We got chicken & broccoli it was delicious. However, they could have done more with it flavor wise, I feel like its just fancied up but still tastes the same as other Chinese places. The décor was nice & the staff was friendly. It was an okay experience.

I really wanted to fall in love with this place but it just didn’t do it for me. On a Saturday night, I was seated promptly and was given complimentary hot tea. The menu is very large, some pictures included, but you don’t really know what you’re getting because its not detailed. So let’s begin… I ordered the crystal shrimp dumplings, diced rabbit with chili sauce and camphor spicy chicken. The crystal shrimp dumplings were decent but a bit sticky with 1 mini shrimp inside each. The diced rabbit was spicy, filled with tons of bones, it felt like I was eating the scraps that they didn’t want to give for the rabbit entrees, instead give it for the appetizer not to waste any food which included peanuts and scallions. If it wasn’t for all those bones it would have been very enjoyable. The camphor chicken was spicy, diced and crispy. That also had peanuts, scallions and peppers. It was flavorful but on the dry side. Mind you, the menu did not include peanuts on any of the dishes ordered which is a HUGE no no considering so many people are allergic to peanuts nowadays. I do hope they change that because if I was allergic, I would have returned everything I ordered. Service here really turned me off. I felt rushed and a hawk was staring at me the whole time to finish up my food. It is a small restaurant so you really don’t get to enjoy yourself because they just want to turn around tables and make as much money as possible. Immediately once I was done with my food, we got the check with orange slices. I wanted dessert but when you want me out so bad I will not put money in your restaurant. Once the bill was all signed for, the server came and grabbed it, no thank you no nothing. By this point, I was annoyed and got up to put my jacket on. While I was putting it on, he stood in my way to clean the table, just so rude and no consideration for guests whatsoever. I might give them a try again but it’s really hard to say.

I would give this place a 4.5 but i’m going to round up to a 5. This place has really authentic food. There was a group of 8 of us, and we all enjoyed our food. We ordered our food ahead of time b/c we wanted it to be ready by the time we got there. They came out within about 5 – 10 minutes of us getting there. They asked if we wanted fried rice with our order. She said it would be on the house. I ordered the chicken with spicy garlic sauce. The tangerine beef was amazing. The general tsao was also really good. They were chunks of all white meat. You can tell the difference between good and great chinese food. This was great. The only downfall is that they do not offer a lunch menu option. You can easily split a meal between 2 people for lunch, especially if you arent starving. I do hope they include a lunch menu in the future. That would make us come even more. They also serve hot tea along with the meal, which is always a nice touch. Our servers were all really nice, and they were even joking around with us. Also, they only take two credit cards per check so just FYI.

After reading resoundingly positive reviews for Lansheng in The Bergen Record and on Unilocal,I finally stopped by to try it out. I think Lansheng is a fine option for a night of casual dining in a small, but comfortable place. This would also be great for high quality take out food. I recommend parking in the tucked away community parking lot(limit 2 hours) across the street from the restaurant. The appetizers here were just as good as our main meals! We ordered scallion pancakes(quite possibly the best I’ve ever had) that were the right balance of light and flaky. The soup dumplings are also a «must try.» They are like normal dumplings, but with broth inside the dumpling pocket. When you bite into them there is a burst of flavor. I had the Ma Po tofu which was subtly spicy. The tofu was so incredibly soft that it pretty much slid into your mouth. Although I enjoyed the tofu dish, I think I’d try something different next time. My sister’s spicy pork also tasted great. This is a good place to do family style for sure!

Fantastic! Gotta say we are adventurous but this took it to a wonderful new level! Am on a restricted diet for a couple weeks but they had things on menu I could have. So let’s begin! Apps: Baby shrimp with scallion pesto. Had some fish sauce in there and was to die for! Not spicy just great tasting! Good size portion for sharing. Being Portuguese I love tripe — so we got the app. Prepare those taste buds peeps this was hot and tasty. The guys ordered a couple tsing tao beers and it was damn near perfect! I could have eaten this all day. Only drawback was a pinch tough better to have been braised. But hey delicious Entrees. Well you have 3 adventurous people, 1 of them on restricted diet and 1 who likes traditional American Chinese. Yes so he got sesame beef. Best damn sesame beef any of us ever had. Period! Tender, fresh, delish! Duck tongue — yes you read that right baby cakes. Watch out for the little bones. We decided this is a perfect late night snack Duck with tea leaves — mine the restricted. Damn that was good. Tasty. Roasted. A nice amount of fat. A great crispy skin. Ducky heaven. Frog with spicy chili– was good and tasty. Great sauce and soupy. But the star of the night. The one that will keep us coming back — SEACUCUMBER! Never had it and I must say I am a convert. Even on my restriction I had two pieces. Broke my rules but was totally worth it. Most amazing dish of the night and I will order this again for sure. Great atmosphere. Quiet and can bring groups. Full bar. Attentive service You always know it’s gonna be good when you’re the only Caucasian in the place full of Asians.

I am pretty much a layman when it comes to Chinese food. A majority of my experience has been Chinese American takeout. The last couple of years I discovered Chengdu 23 in Wayne which is one of my favorite Chinese/Szechuan places. I am happy to report that Lan Sheng has opened up in my area. I have been there twice and have enjoyed it both times. The menu is the same menu used at the original Restaurant that is located in Midtown Manhattan. The Wallington location is on a busy street and has street parking only, although there is a small municipal lot located directly across the street(It is hard to see it, but it is right behind the evergreen trees). The soups and entrees have been great. The hot and sour soup had just enough heat to make me start to sweat and also open up my stuffy nose. I also liked the complimentary snacks they have given us. Today I was given some spicy peanuts and last time a fried pumpkin fritter(not sure of the exact name). The service has been great. the waiter suggested some Szechuan specialties for us to try. The restaurant has a small bar and they also do take-out and delivery. The location is a little tough(main street and parking may be an issue for some) but I wish them well and will definitely be heading back.

An authentic Szechuan place in the little Polish town of Wallington. This is the second location of the Michelin rated Lan Sheng on 39th St by Bryant Park. Hopefully, they continue their success here in NJ. Service: rocked! We were the only customers in the restaurant so everyone was serving us left and right. The owner stopped by to chat and welcome us. Also our waiter gave us great dish recommendations! Food: –Mini crabmeat soup buns: Good flavor. Since they are mini there is less soup inside. –Braised beef with napa cabbage: The sauce filled with roasted chili is so addicting. Spoon it over your hot white rice and enjoy. –Gui Zhou chicken was good. Reminded me of the Chili Chicken dish at Penang but on the sweeter side. –Lan Sheng Grilled Fish was fried not grilled leaving it very crispy. Its topped with scallions, cilantro, potatoes, black mushrooms and lots of cumin. –Sauteed snow pea shoots were perfectly cooked leaving a good crunch. This was much appreciated to mellow out all the bold flavors and to add a serving of vegetable to our day. –Chongqing sweet potato puffy was offered to us on the house by the owner after we declined dessert since we definitely over ordered for 4. Thank God she did because I loved it! Hopefully, they add a lunch menu like their NYC counterpart to take advantage of the afternoon crowd. I wish them much luck. They are located in an unexpected location so hopefully people will drive out to explore this hidden gem. I agree with the one star Michelin rating– very good cooking in its category. Tip: don’t bother looking for street parking. Use the 2 hour public parking lot across the street by the basketball courts.
