Totally addicted. Best Thai food in the area. The Pad Kee Mao is our fave by far, but all the dishes we’ve tried are great. The owners are super nice as well!

My friend and I almost missed this spot two times when we drove by. It is on a very unassuming block. The inside is pretty minimal, but there are some Thai accents. This is definitely a popular spot, even on a Sunday night. Our waitress was very nice and just the right amount of attentive. Our dishes were fragrant and a good portion for the price. It’s definitely a solid, tasty choice. I wouldn’t say it’s the supreme, best Thai in this area, but it was very good. I would definitely go here again if I were in the area.

Best Thai around. The owner and his wife are always super nice and appreciative of the business. Best chicken pad Thai. Spivey basil fried rice and they have a great Thai salad with homemade peanut dressing too. Yummm! Definitely recommend. And u can take a nice walk in the center of town after.

***Second Visit: Uh Oh, Big disappointment that turned me off. Portion size was almost half of the first visit for the same dishes, the sauces were dominated by «fish sauce» and unlike the first visit. Menus are different and changes are crossed out on some menus and not others. Ordered an entrée that was not close to the description. It was corrected, but not to the description of the menu… didn’t complain again as the distraction was ruining my meal. Will NOT return again. Taste was off, portion size was like«lunch» portions at «dinner prices». ***First Visit: I am a huge Thai Food fan and have been to dozens of Thai restaurants that are excellent. Za Onn has no rival. Food is «FRESH», well prepared, presented very nicely. The ingredients are excellent and the chef is spot on in her preparation. The server is also family and very pleasant and informed. GREAT food, actually«THEBEST» I’ve ever had. Just a NEW favorite… do not miss !!!

Tried a new Thai place near my girlfriends house. Super friendly man working when we went in. I keep it pretty basic w pad Thai usually when trying a new place because you can’t really seem to go wrong. Everywhere does has a slightly different taste to it. Not the best one in the area but still pretty good. Will be further exploring for the best one around!

The BEST thai food in the state. This is a one-man operation too, which is super impressive. I have yet to have a bad visit. Recommend the following dishes: Golden Bag, Jeep Jay, Fried Wonton, Thai Beef Salad and Pad Kee Mao. BYOB and liquor store next door, it doesn’t get any better that this.

Loved this little place. Coworker and I were in town for work and checked Unilocal for places to have dinner. Saw that there were good reviews and decided to give it a try. The food was delicious and authentic. I’ve been to Thailand twice and this was just as good as the food I had there. I had the green curry which was spicier than I expected but so good. The gentleman there was really nice too!

Since I moved to Wallingford a few months ago, I have found that Za Onn is my favorite place to eat. No, it’s not a Michelin starred restaurant. No, you won’t have a dedicated attendant waiting at your right hand. But what you will get is delicious Thai food at a decent price right in the heart of Wallingford. I’ve been there enough to where the people working there know my name and what I usually enjoy eating. As others have mentioned, it’s BYOB and there’s a great liquor store next door.

Terrible service — no water served for the first ten minute and waitress had a weird attitude. Not recommend for anyone.

We were visiting Connecticut for the weekend, and checked Unilocal for a decent restaurant near our hotel. This one looked like our kind of place – so thank you, Unilocalers! BUT: the map will lead you astray – don’t follow the map! You’re looking for a place near downtown Wallingford, not on the campus of Choate. It is a small place, but they had a table for our family of four, and no steps at the front door(son uses a wheelchair, so we like to find that). Daughter ordered crispy wontons with sauce on the side; they came covered in sauce, but when the hostess noticed that she wasn’t happy, she brought us another order made plain. Panang curry was delicious, and the pad thai was both delicious and a very generous size – happy leftovers for us! Overall, we felt welcomed on arrival and very well fed as we left.

Nice food. A thai place we tried for dinner. Although small place but good service. There were very less people. May be that’s why food came very quickly. We will go again

When I saw there was a new Thai place close to my house and office, you can be sure I felt my heart flutter. I love Thai food. I also wanted them to be good, so I gave it a shot. 1st time did not disappoint. The second time didn’t disappoint either. And neither did the third, fourth, fifth… You get the idea. Everything I’ve had from this place is delicious. I have sent many friends there and have only heard good things from them as well. There’s no delivery offered, but I bet if you offer a friend a free meal, maybe they’ll pick it up for you, so it’s sort of like delivery. This has definitely become a favorite spot of mine and hope they are able to maintain their quality and deliciousness for years to come.

It’s not the cheapest or best service but it has consistently great food! BYOB so bring your own or there’s a little liquor store conveniently located next door. I recommend the Special Fried Rice.

Great little place and delicious food! Came here with a friend at 9:20pm, we weren’t rushed at all and was able to enjoy our meal. I ordered roasted duck with ginger sauce and my friend got chicken with peanut sauce, both very good. BYOB, which I know for next time. I will be back.

The food was okay. We got the clams to start out as an app, they were very good if they were on the bottom. The ones on top were not drenched in the broth and thus has less flavoring. For my dish, I got the Two of Us and it was tasty, but for me I prefer more rice, however for a Thai place this is on par with what I expect. The service was great, always keeping our drinks full. The owner seemed a bit awkward as his English isn’t the best, but there was not issues with communication.

I love coming to this Thai place! Their Pad See Ew and curry are both on point, and they serve this pork egg pancake dish that is a must try! Also ask for the special thai spicy sauce with it! My Thai friends at school have told me that the food tastes exactly like at home, and that the taste is really authentic. The owner is super nice and the atmosphere is good in general. A must recommend!

Best Thai food in Wallingford. I eat there every 2 – 3 weeks. I love Thai Taste in New Haven– and this is just as good. I always get the Tom Yum Goong soup and have had a variety of the other dishes– pineapple fried rice, You Got That Right, Fancy Fried Rice, and am trying the Round Table tonight. The owner is super nice; he always has a smile and is appreciate of my business. They are not open on Mondays and now close a bit earlier all nights of the week(Wallingford cannot really support late night hours.)

Best Thai food in town! I have eaten at all of the Thai restaurants in Wallingford(we have quite a few) and none have compared to Za Onn. I’ve only had take out here, so I can’t speak to dining in experience. My favorite dish is their crispy pad Thai. It is sweet and crispy and unlike anything else I’ve ever eaten. I’ve never seen crispy pad Thai on any other Thai menu, so this is a must try. Regular pad Thai and Thai fried rice are also very good. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and I’ve heard others say their food is very authentic — I’ve never been to Thailand so can’t say myself, but it sure tastes good! I also love their fried wontons with the sweet dipping sauce(plum sauce I believe). I’m getting hungry just writing this review! Definitely check this place out if you like Thai food. Even if you don’t like Thai food, it’s so good that you just might change your mind!
