This place is great! I’ve been here twice so far and will keep visiting for sure! The food is delicious and fairly priced. They offer a nice, clean, cozy atmosphere and a beautiful patio with a small water feature outside which drowns out the sound of traffic quite well! Very promt, friendly and informative wait staff. I’ve only ever ordered wine so I’m unsure of the quality of mixed drinks but, the wine selection is beautiful with many Italian, French and even California options; which is a nice change from always having to order local wines at most places in walla walla. I’m giving 4 stars only because the dessert seems to be hit or miss. My first dessert here was pomagranate sorbet and it was gross, my second was an almond brownie and it was devine! I’ll keep trying them because I love a place that offers unique and delicious desserts! :)

Ordered the mushroom ravioli and pancetta carbonara to go. Wanted to treat my husband to dinner after he watched the kids for me all day. The ravioli was fine, though not much food. The carbonara was inedible. As in, $ 15 straight into the garbage can. There was no cheese, no egg, and the chunks of porcetta were rock hard and clearly thrown on top. The spaghetti was so overcooked it was like eating mush and the sauce tasted like some kind of watered down, grossly over-peppered, tasteless gravy. We are not picky eaters, but this was seriously bad. While I was waiting for our order, the table next to me sent back their spaghetti as overcooked and another dish because something was missing. I am questioning whether they took that spaghetti and gave it to us. Either that, or they knew their previously cooked pot of spaghetti was bad and gave it to us anyway. I am regretting leaving a tip on a meal my husband could even eat. I am also regretting going there at all. We won’t be back.

Based on the Stars we thought this would be good. I would give it 1 but the service was good. Pasta was soggy and not just mine but several people with me too. The red sauce was heavily seasoned with rosemary so that’s all you tasted. Got a French press coffee and it was luke warm… not even enough to get any flavor out of the grounds so it was watery. I was hopeful for this place because like I said the service was very good and it was a nice place but not the food

What happened??? Based on our initial visit we have been back 3 – 4 times. With each visit we’ve been stunned by how much the food seems to be moving in the wrong direction. On the last visit, one dish was so bad we had it sent back. The waitress did remove it from our bill, but the bad taste of it lingers. The chicken Parmesan was not at all like title. I’m perfectly happy eating a deconstructed version of something… but this? The ‘Parmesan’ noodles were gummy, tasteless and added nothing. The chicken was cooked within an inch of it’s life. Dry, tough… ugh. Trying to redeem the meal we wanted dessert. They’ve had incredible tiramisu, but none was available. So we ordered the Spumoni and the pomegranate ricotta cheesecake. The Spumoni was old and full of ice chunks and had a freezer burn taste. Unpleasant. but the real horror was the god knows how old ricotta cheese cake. Gray, with a horrible grainy texture. The plating was so unattractive(i.e. nothing but this lump of gray matter on the plate). We left with lighter wallets, unfilled bellies and won’t be back any time soon. :(

Nice atmosphere, attentive staff. I would’ve given higher marks, but my salmon was over cooked and my husband’s raviolis a bit crunchy, although they had a nice flavor. The spaghetti and meatballs were good as well as the seafood fettuccini, but unfortunately, my dish was the most expensive and the least tasty… thus the three vs four stars.

Consistency. Quality. Creativity. These words describe Tratoria in such a way that they could not be sincerely applied to any other Italian restaurant in Southeast Washington under the same standards. You couldn’t ask for a better overall dining experience than the one you’ll find here. Exceptional service, excellent food, and extravagant desserts. Tratoria has it all, wrapped up in a perfectly cozy boutique atmosphere.

As a Whitman student, this was a great hidden gem to enjoy a nice dinner with my visiting family! I almost hate reviewing it since it is a great place to get reservations when everything is booked for Whitman family weekends. The service was quick and the food was wonderful. I specifically loved my winter salad and soup and my family raved about their squid ink ravioli! We will be back!

After confusion with dinner reservations at a different restaurant in town, my family decided to go to Trattoria Colea. There were 14 of us, but with a call ahead, they were able to accommodate us and even have water at each place setting when we arrived. The sun was bright that day and was shining directly in my eyes, so two of the waitresses noticed, went outside and moved umbrellas until it blocked the sun from coming in. Each dish was beautifully prepared, and equally delicious. What an accommodating, classy addition to Walla Walla. Great customer service, will definitely return!

We found this place because of Unilocal reviews. Love that it was off the downtown area and away from the crowds. What a gem! We were in Walla Walla for wine tasting and fun. We went on a Thursday night with no reservations and were sat immediately(four in our party). Homemade and FRESH food. It was outstanding. The service matched the food. My dad had coffee(french press) and a fresh dessert, my mom had a white bean and split the roasted mushroom ravioli with me, and my husband had the seafood alfredo with homemade pasta. Excuse me why isn’t this place packed? Thank you to David, Ashley and Meagan for making our dinner outstanding. It was so great we went back on Friday night with reservations. The place was full and we sat immediately. I had the ravioli again, my dad did the ravioli, my mom had the chicken parm, and my husband had a dish that was accommodated to his taste(sub chickpeas with pasta). Thank you Chef for making great tasting food. I had the pumpkin tart that was the BESTPUMPKIN anything I have ever had in my life. Don’t miss out on this place. The noise is fine for a small place and there is plenty of parking. No valet needed. They take credit cards and have a great wine list.

Welcome back to another good Italian choice. House salad was fit for a king. Lots of meat free choices(half the menu can be enjoyed without eating an animal). My eggplant roll was tasty but a little chewy. Deanne’s wrap had a home made soft bread wrap. Soup was tasty. We’ll be back to try more. Plant eating Italians rejoice. But there are choices for carnivores as well, of course. Pine nut tarts looked great. Hope they have enough staying power to become an institution.

Wow… I’ve had some great Italian food in my years but I have to say that the mushroom ravioli it’s one of the best dishes I’ve eaten. The mushroom/ricotta mixture was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant to locals and visitors to Walla Walla.

Traveling through walla walla and the place we wanted to dine at was closed. Went to trattoria colea and will be coming back Excellent first course caprese served with very tasty heirloom tomatoes. I had beef check ravioli a my wife had crab and shrimp cannelloni with a light tomatoe cream sauce. Both dishes were excellent. Flowerless almond cake for desert with very tasty French pressed Coffe. As I mentioned will be coming back. Our waiter was enthusiastic and quite good !!

We made a reservation for Friday night at 6:30 pm and when we arrived we were seated immediately. The restaurant was already over half full as most of the outdoor tables were being used. Quite a few groups came in at 7:30 so the restaurant was packed when we left. I recommend making reservations. The menu contains a variety of different dishes, some that reflect the personality of the owner who wishes to entice you to try something a little out of the ordinary. There are enough choices to satisfy anyone – from seafood to pasta – and you can even choose liver. The wine list has many Washington, California and Italian wines that can be purchased by the glass or by the bottle. The prices are reasonable and somewhat unusual(a glass of Italian wine for $ 7.19!) The food was very flavorful and we had a very pleasant experience. Tomato and fennel soup, mint tagliatelle(a lamb dish), and Dungeness crab and wild shrimp cannelloni. I decided to forego dessert and settled on French press coffee, which was very smooth and hit the perfect spot to end a wonderful meal. Although this restaurant is not in the center of town, it is worth the short drive down 2nd street to experience some wonderful Italian food.

I love this location, halfway between my home and downtown. I’ve been here when it was my favorite restaurant called Creek Town. Then it changed owners and became South Fork Grill. Now, with new owners, it is an Italian place, but the interior hasn’t changed at all. So, I STILL love the place! The food? Who cares? Since you probably didn’t come for the ambiance of the place, here’s some info about what I ate: My entrée was the dungeness crab and shrimp cannelloni. I may have made the waitress just a tad upset when she was ready to take my order, but I was still trying to decide between the cannelloni and the seafood alfredo something with garlic. I was quickly thumbing through Unilocal(next time I’ll do this before leaving home), trying to decide if the dungeness crab was real or fake when I read about the cannelloni being crêpe-like(SOLD). BTW, the crab is real. The cream sauce is very light and after eating every morsel on my plate, I didn’t feel as though I was overstuffed(which can happen on a dish like this). No, it was perfect. So, why not try the Dark Italian? The chef behind the counter? I posted a photo for you just for clarification.

As a local, I’ve been waiting for a great Italian restaurant. Homemade pasta, homemade sauces. Yum! The grilled artichoke appetizer was zesty and beautifully presented. Even the«house» salad was fresh and had amazing flavors. Sitting outside, sipping wine, what a great way to spend a Wednesday evening. They had a good wine list, but we brought our own bottle. Wish the corking fee was less, but it was such a good meal it is hard to complain.

Tried 6 things. All bursting with flavor! You can tell it is had made real food. This is a winner in my book. It’s a great value. The service was awesome. We dine with a 15 month old. They brought out toys, crayons and papers. Even though we did not order her a dish they brought out a dish of fruit for her!

Ok: Despite the reviews, I tried this place… Here goes: 1. Staff seemed friendly and courteous. I was seated quickly. 1b. My server was quick and thorough with her knowledge of the menu. 2. NEVERSERVECOLDSOUP! especially if it’s meant to be hot. I ordered the tomato soup and it was COLD! When i sent it back, the server asked if i «would like it hot»… OFCOURSE I WANTHOTSOUP! Not cold! 2b. Soup was quickly replaced with HOT(as it should be) Soup. 3. I ordered the seafood pasta for dinner. Dry and tasteless. No dramatization. Very dry, had to ask for a side of sauce & salt. 3b. Server quickly understood and retrieved more sauce from the kitchen & some salt. 4. Service continued to be very good and instantaneous. 5. I ordered the lemon and rasberry Gellato. But, I was later told they were out… I had to forgo desert this time.(In all fairness its good to hear that a resteraunt runs out of a good desert people enjoy) Overall, i do hope that this business understands my review. This place has much more potential with it’s food than it is currently serving to customers. Service is wonderful. Food is not par with the image and atmosphere. I can get better food at the Brick. Will I be back. Yes I will, because sometimes an oversight will happen. And, its just good to try the same place again… Just to be sure.

If it was only me eating here, i would have given 1 star. I did not like the GF pasta with langostino i got; it was over herbed which was disgusting. The pasta was over cooked, the sauce was brown even though it was a tomato sauce, and, well, it didn’t taste good. The service was TERRIBLE. The few times we wanted parmesan, water or wine, no servers came; what’s more, we could see them chatting all together behind the register. However, my wife love the bolgnese she got, and our friends liked their dishes, so I’ll bump the review to 3 stars. but they need to really kick the service up or these guys will go down in flames.

Trattoria Colea was chosen for our family dinner because it serves Italian food and happens to be in the town where my great aunt lives. We didn’t know that we were going to a restaurant with fantastic food and service. Our party ordered a ravioli, a lamb pasta, the steak, a side salad, a kids’ spaghetti(provided at dinner even though it’s only on the lunch menu), the mackerel(my meal – had no bones in it and was very well flavored), and a salad with chicken and potatoes which was provided to fit my mom’s dietary restrictions. Everything was well prepared and pleasantly presented. Our waiter, Devin, was well-mannered and attentive. The plates, silverware, table, chairs, and restrooms were all clean. Literally the only thing I didn’t love was how crunchy the potatoes were– but I even liked them quite a lot. Kudos to this restaurant– I would absolutely recommend coming here for dinner.
