I have been to this café several times in the last few years and here is my summary: Setting I love the atmosphere here — very quaint, cozy, and intimate. There are not that many tables, but I try to come during a weekday and am usually able to be seated pretty quickly. Menu I enjoy the breakfast/brunch menu better than the lunch menu — I really like the corn beef sweet potato hash and their herb scrambled eggs. I also just tried their crêpe with fruit and marscapone and it was delicious! Other items I would recommend are the quiches, and french onion soup. Bakery Items I also have been quite pleased with all of their bakery selections — the crème scone is my favorite, but I have enjoyed everything I have tried. Service Speed varies depending on how many customers are there — the service is generally good, but sometimes when it gets busy, it gets a little more stressful. But overall, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I always love coming here.

Cozy little place unlike any others in Waldwick! I’m sure when the weather is nice and they put tables outside this is a great place to hang out. The space inside is tiny, but the employees do a good job of directing customers who walk in looking for a table where to sit to maximize their space and service capacity. Although we were there on a random weekday, the place was pretty packed with stay at home moms in their workout outfits meeting up for their post kid drop off lattes. Upon seeing the dessert case I wanted to try so many items but settled on the pistachio/cherry scone and a cappuccino. I’m a tough cappuccino critic and even tougher scone critic. My cappuccino snobbishness comes from when I lived in Florence, Italy and my judgmental scone snobbery comes from having THE best scone experience in Ireland. My scone wasn’t really good, but it was served by itself without a small side of clotted cream or jam. I wasn’t sure if that was an oversight but we did ask for a side of jam. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, but the younger staff still seemed a bit green. My husband had the herbed eggs on a croissant which I had a taste of and thought it was pretty good. My mother-in-law had the pumpkin oatmeal which was ok, but it lacked sweetness. It needed some syrup, honey, raisins or brown sugar. I look forward to trying the brunch the time we go back to NJ.

This place is adorable. Perfect brunch place. Love the scones. Great service. I have no idea how others have complained about the the staff. Smiles and kindness every time. Other places are much pricier. Hidden gem.

MISPREFS! Great spot for Sunday brunch. Make a reservation. Menu us full of different options. I always ask what the chef feels like making or what is something that he hasn’t made in a while that is on the menu. Can’t go wrong with anything though. The pastries are also on par with the cooking. Baking is done on sight. Croissants, scones, brownies, and linzer tarts are favs. They have their own brand of hot tea called Mademoiselle, really tastes great with everything. The wait staff are super friendly too. This spot is 20 out of 10.

Mixed review… French toasts were good; really liked the lemon infused flavor on the French toast… however, Egg Benedict was a disaster… It was supposed to come with guacamole… And it was so old that it look completely brown… I have seen fresher guacamole at chipotle! Not sure it is worth the higher price tag compared to other paces around…

Charming spot with an enticing, creative menu. I’m sorry we didn’t learn about it sooner. We came here for Sunday brunch and the place was full. Approx 9 tables so call ahead although we were lucky enough to be seated immediately. It’s sparkling clean and the servers are as sweet as sugar. My husband enjoyed the south western eggs Ben. I had the eggs with a generous amount of nova. Cappacino only $ 3. Not bad

This place is excellent tasting and an awesome place to go to. This may be a tiny place one you wouldn’t think to go to for a meal. You would be wrong in not coming here. The service is good for the size of the place, on certain days it gets pretty packed and service slows. This is mainly in part to their small staff size. All the aside this is a place you née to visit. The food is excellent, no mater what you decide to eat. There is also a lot of stuff they offer they have never had or heard of before. I promise it wont disappoint. On Sundays they offer a separate special brunch menu with even more cool and tasty items. So come see for yourself you wont be disappointed.

Everything I have ever eaten at this place is delicious. However, the service is the worst in the area. You get friendlier service at Starbucks! I don’t know why they think they are doing you a favor making your latte how you order it instead of treating customers graciously.

When we walked in at 245 for a brunch, we were told the kitchen was closing despite the published hours of closing at 4. The place was empty. I guess they must be going out of business soon. Don’t waste your time.

I loved this little café for Sunday brunch. The food is what saves it from service that is a bit slow and unsophisticated. I had a delicious egg white/cauliflower/gruyère frittata, that was just perfect. The baked goods looked delicious and I regret not having brought a few home. Also, they had a lovely croque madame, but I don’t eat meat so I didn’t try it. It looked and smelled heavenly! The staff was very nice, but very very slow. Took about 30 minutes to just get water and hot drinks. When our entrees were served, they forgot the side dishes. All of this was forgiven, however, when I tasted their food. Delicious and I definitely will go back!

This place COULD be so amazing… but it’s not. Very cute and quaint, but just okay otherwise. They re-dd the inside, but I actually think it looked better and had more personality before. I paid $ 17 with tip for the tiniest cup of soup. It was more like half a cup. a half a sandwich and a cup of tea. I am not a big eater by any means, but left still hungry. Left kind of bummed. Too bad this place has a lot of potential, but it’s not cutting it for me.

I love this little bistro. It might be small but it packs a heck of a punch. The food is terrific, very tasty. The service is top-notch, the prices are comparable. Delectable cookies, scones, brownies, lemon bars and more.

I have been a frequent breakfast patron at La Vie En Rose for the past several years. I was hoping the«attitudes» and hospitality would get better with new owners, but I always feel as though I am imposing on them for service or a special request. They do not go out of their way to refresh your coffee, for example, you always have to chase them. You would think that the owners would care more for someone coming in to dine repeatedly that they would be interested in keeping their business. The food is good and fresh, but again, there is always an air of arrogance. Will not return for awhile.

Downgrading this place to 3 stars… my last visit was very disappointing. The coffee mug had coffee stains on the outside and when I pointed it out to the waitress, she said«They are all like that» meaning permanently stained, I guess… Anyway, when I got to the bottom of my tea… yes… tea, I noticed a coffee residue ring around the bottom and used my teaspoon to scrape it off and it came off… totally disgusting!!! Further, I had the egg white frittata and it was dry and old… like it was the last piece, from last week… ughh… it’s too bad… thought I’d found a gem.

I am so annoyed an disappointed after stopping into what used to be my favorite bakery in the area. The place is as cute as always so I was unaware that there were new owners. Without getting into the entire issue lets just say their business skills as well as their baking skills leave much to be desired. I had left a deposit awhile back for cupcakes, I’d tried a few times to stop back in and get them but it never worked out. I was given a $ 12 credit. I find out today that there was a new owner, she refused to honor the credit(which ok she didn’t receive the $$) however she was completely unfriendly, she offered nothing(I was buying a bunch of stuff and looking to order more). If it were my business I would have offered the credit or at the very least said«I’m sorry I can’t offer you the full $ 12 however why don”t we give you today’s order or free, or how about one cupcake on the house». Something, Anything as a form of good faith and good business sense. What would it have cost her? I obviously wasn’t making it up. So I’m annoyed but I buy a variety anyway, It all looked great an I was there already. I was so very disappointed when I tasted the almond croissant and the cupcakes. I stopped after a bite of each. they were horrible. The croissant was cake like. Anyone who knows croissant knows cake is not a texture you’d expect from croissant. The cupcakes were inedible. The cake was dry and stale and the cream although very pretty was waxy and just yuck. What a shame. Too bad, I hope they get it together I hate to see anyone start a business and fail when they didn’t have to. I wish them luck and hope they smarten up.

Stopped by for lunch had a fantastic sandwich of tarragon chicken that had apple added for extra crunch and taste. The bread was great. Ordered a platter of cookies and brownies and pastries for an event and was surprised that after a big meal these went like hot cakes with coffee. Crisp and buttery cookies, not overly sweet and very good. Will order again and will go there again for a meal.

Sunday morning, June 2, The good news: The owner seemed friendly and my meal was good(Fried eggs w/leeks, spinach and mushrooms). The bad news: Staff was not attentive in the least. Air-conditioning SEEMED to not be working. Quite noisy. Would not recommend.
